1.The Protective Effect of Xinan Granule on Viral Myocarditis in Mice

Objective To investigate the protective effect of Xinan granule on viral myocarditis in mice. Methods Viral myocarditis model was made by intraperitoneal inoculation with Coxsackie virus B3 in BALB/C mice. Mice were randomly devided into six groups:the normal control group, the model control group, the Xinan granule10、20、40 g/(kg?d) groups and the Binduzuo 0.1 g/(kg?d) group.After CVB3 infection 2 h, one set of mice were given drugs for 7 d.Blood and heart samples were obtained on the 8th day after CVB3 infection.The myocardial histopathologic changes were observed. The serum cardiac enzyme (LDH) were measured.The others were given drugs for 2 d before CVB3 infection, and for 7ds after CVB3 infection. The survival time were recorded for 20 ds. Results The myocardial histopathologic damage, LDH, cardiac index, punctate hemorrhage on heart surface in Xinan group reduced more significantly than that of the model control group. The survival time in Xinan group were longer than that of the model control group. Conclusion Xinan granule may have the preventional and therapeutic effect on viral myocarditis in mice.
2.Pharmacognosia Identification of Aralia elata

OBJECTIVE:To identify the root-bark of Aralia elata.METHODS:The origin,property,microscopic characteristics,thin-layer chromatography(TLC) of the root-bark of Aralia elata were identified,and the content of oleanolic acid in the root-bark of Aralia elata was determined by HPLC.RESULT:The identification method for the root-bark of Aralia elata has been established.CONCLUSION: The established method has been proved to be effective for the identification of the root-bark of Aralia elata.
3.Extraction Rates of Flavonoids from Ultrafine Powder vs.Fine Powder of Gleditsia sinensis

OBJECTIVE:To compare the extraction yield of total flavonoids from fine powder vs.ultrafine powder of Gleditsia sinersis.METHODS:The absorbance was detected under a wavelength of 510 nm by ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The extraction rates of flavonoids from fine powder vs.ultrafine powder of Gleditsia sinersis were computed.RESULTS:The extraction rate of flavonoids from ultrafine powder was 29.1%higher than that from the fine powder of Gleditsia sinersis. CONCLUSION:The extraction rate of flavonoids was increased by superfine comminution.

5.Hemostasis of Xuehanjing Oral Liquid

AIM: To observe the hemostatic effect and hemostasis mechanism of XHJ (Auena fatua L.) oral Liqnid on animals. METHODS: Bleeding time (BT) and clotting time (CT) were measured by means of tail cutting and glass slide method on mice, Von willebrand factoe (vWF), prothrombin time (PT) and Kaolin partial thromboplastin time (KPTT) were observed by immunoterbidimerry and coagulase test, antithrombin Ⅲ(AT-Ⅲ) by chromophoric matrix method platelet count by tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), plasminogen activatore inactivator (PAI). CONCLUSION: The results indicate that XHJ has remarkable effect on hemostasis; Its mechanism is related to accelerating blood coagulatlon, inhibiting fibrinolytic activity, adding blood vessel endothelial cell release and improving platelet adhesiveness and aggregation.
6.Pharmacodynamic Study of Yunkang Capsule

Objective To investigate the pharmacodynamic action of Yunkang Capsule(YKC).Methods The animals were divided into YKC groups(at high-,moderate-and low-dosage respectively),diphenidol control group,model control group and blank control group.The action of YKC on vertigo and thrombosis,hemorrheologic indexes,piamatral microcirculation and free radicals of the animal models were observed.Results YKC could significantly prolong the latency of vertigo,reduce wet weight of thrombus,decrease blood viscosity,plasma viscosity and hematocrit,promote the dilation of piamatral micro-vessels,increase the amount of interweave microdot,increase plasma SOD activity and decline plasma MDA content of animal models.Conclusion YKC has actions of counteracting vertigo and thrombosis,improving hemorrheology and microcirculation,and clearing away free radicals.
7.The effect of the extracts of Centella asiatica(L.) Urban (ECU) on the behavior of animal model of depression

Objective To investigate the effect of the extracts of Centella asiatica(L.) Urban (ECA) on the depressive-like behavior alteration in rats and mice. Method 60 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (10 rats each), the normal group, model group, Fluoxetine group, ECA high dose group (component 10.08 mg+component 24.48 mg/kg), ECA middle dose group (component 1 0.04 mg+component 2 2.24 mg/kg) and ECA low dose group component 1 0.02 mg+component 2 1.12 mg/kg. Chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) induced depression in rats and sugar consumption to detect the antidepressant effect of ECU. 60 Kunming mice were randomly divided into six groups as above. Locomotor activity, forced swim, tail suspension test were used to detect the effect of ECA on the behavioral alteration in mice. Results Compared with model group, sugar consumption in ECA groups was significant increased (P<0.01). ECA treatments also decreased duration of immobility in the tail suspension test and forced swim. Conclusion ECA could improve the depressive-like behavior in rats and mice.
8.Protective effect of Ganduqing Granule on acute hepatic injury

AIM To observe the protective effect of Ganduqing Granule(GDQ) on acute hepatic injury. METHODS Sixty male Wistar rats were divided into 6 groups, namely normal control group, model group, Ganduqing large (GDQ Ⅰ), middle(GDQ Ⅱ), small dose(GDQ Ⅲ) groups and Yiganning (YGN) positive group. Acute hepatic injury induced by thioacetamide. The changes of blood serum ALT, AST activity and plasma endotoxin (ET) level and TNF-?, IL-6 levels were measured and livers were taken for pathology examination. RESULTS Plasma ET level and blood serum ALT, AST levels and TNF-?, IL-6 levels were significantly lower than model group ( P
