Objiective:To investigate the relationship between matrix metalloproteinases-2(MMP-2) and atrial fibrillation,also to investigate the relationship between MMP-2,cardiac function and left atria diameter of patients with atrial fibrillation.Methods:49 patients with persistent atrial fibrillation were included in the atrial fibrillation groups,and 47 patients with sinus rhythm were selected in the control group,the serum concentration of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 were measured with ELISA.The size of left atria diameter were detected with Doppler Ultrasonic cardiogram.Results:(1) The level of MMP-2 in atrial fibrillation group was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).(2) The size of left atria diameter in atrial fibrillation group was significant higher than that in the control group(P

OBJECTIVE:To compare the therapeutic effects and cost-effectiveness among 3 therapeutic regimens. METHODS:85 cases with sudden deafness were divided into 3 groups:Group A (n=30) were ascribed to receive buflomedil, Group B (n=28) to receive compound Danshen and Group C (n=27) to receive Herba Erigerontis. The curative effects of the 3 were observed and the cost-effectiveness of which were analyzed. RESULTS:The costs of the 3(A, B and C) were 1 908.20yuan, 1 102.68yuan and 1 825.64yuan, respectively. The effective rates of the 3 were 93.33%, 60.71% and 70.37%, respectively. The cost-effectiveness ratios were 20.45yuan, 18.16yuan and 25.94yuan, respectively. As compared with Group B, the incremental costs for Group A and C were 24.73yuan and 74.84yuan, respectively with every one-unit effectiveness increase. CONCLUSION:Group C is the superior one among the 3 therapeutic regimens.

Objective Through oral vaccination activity on polio,the epidemiological and virological surveillance of acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) case finds its way to develop, so that the realization of eradication on polio may be verified.Method Various kinds of immunization activities such as regular basic immunization, booster vaccination, intensified vaccination and mopping-up operation were adopted among children of the right age in the whole province. Zero case report and active surveillance on AFP were carried out to those population under 15 who had had consultation in medical unit above county level. Each reported case or found case was treated by individual case investigation, follow-up study and sample collection. All the samples were virus-isolated ad identified by RD, Hep-2 and L20B cells. Result Since 1991, an AFP case surveillance system has been built up. Up to the end of 2000, a total of 1,749 AFP cases had been reported in hunan province, from which 1,404 cases samples were collected, and another 218 cases samples of contacts were also collected. A sum of 7 polio wild virus strains was examined out. Since July 1993, no wild strain has been found (isolated). Conclusion Hunan Province has successfully intervened in the circus (spread) of polio wild virus, and hence realized the goal of polio eradication.

The left to right shunt rate(F)and the transverse seetional area of ductus arteriosus(A)were calculated by color Doppler flow convergence method in 20 patients with patent ductus arteriosus.The results indicated that the shunt rate(F)was correlated fairly with Qp-Qs,Qp/Qs(measured by pulsed wave Doppler),the pressure gradient(△P)and the diameter of left ventricle(DLV)(r=0.81,0.62,0.69 and 0.53;P＜0.001,0.005,0.001 and 0.01,respectively).The transverse sectional area of ductus arteriosus(A)was also correlated closely with the diameter of ductus arteriosus(Dd)measured directly in two-dimensional view(r=0.81,P＜0.001).The F value of group Qp/Qs≥2:1 was apparently higher than that of group Qp/Qs＜2:1(P＜0.005).The color Doppler flow convergence method can rapidly and exactly evaluate the left to right shunt severity of patent ductus arteriosus.

Purpose:To study the expression of Survivin,P21 WAF1/CIP1 and CyclinD1 proteins in cervical carcinoma and to investigate their relation to recurrence of early stage cervical cancer of the uterus.Methods:Using streptavidin-biotin peroxidase (sp) method,we examined the protein expression of Survivin, P21 WAF1/CIP1 and Cyclin D1 in 55 cervical carcinomas (45 cervical squamous carcinomas and 10 cervical adenocarcinomas ) and 10 normal cervical tissues.Results:① The positive rates of Survivin,Cyclin D1,P21 WAF1/CIP1 were 0,10.0%,20.0% in normal cervical tissue,and 68.9%,51.1%,57,8% in cervical squamous carcinomas,and 60.0%,90.0%,80.0% in cerrical adenocarcinomas respectively. Objective To study expression of extracellular signal-regualated kinase in intraepithelial neoplasia,prostatic cancer and BPH tissue. Methods Expression of extracellular signal-regualated kinase (ERK) was determined in 12 prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN),11 prostate cancer and 16 benign prostatic hyperplasia specimens.ERK expression was determined by immunohistochemistry. Results ERK expression was positive in all the 12 PIN specimens,6 of which being overexpressed.In the 11 prostate cancer specimens,overexpression was observed in only one while the other 10 under expressed.Overexpreassion was not observed in all the BPH specimens whereas 12 of the 16 showed underexpression. OBJECTIVE:To discuss the general regularity and characteristics of drug-induced hemorrhage.METHEDS:1139cases of drug-induced hemorrhage reported in internal medical journals published from Jan.1995to Dec.2004were collected and analyzed.RESULTS:The drugs that induced hemorrhage were chiefly antimicrobial drugs,central nervous system drugs and hematopoietic system drugs;oral drugs were the chief means that lead to hemorrhage which amounted to63.92%of the total hemorrhage cases;the bleeding parts were mainly alimentary tract and intestinal tract;the bleeding time usually occurred within2min～1mo after medication.Systematic administration-induced hemorrhage usually occurred under the normal administration and dosage;however,wrong use of drugs,irrational drug uses etc.were accountable for the hem?orrhage in local application.CONCLUSION:Clinicians should give detailed guidance to patients on the drug use so as to avoid wrong or irrational drug use.
