International Journal of Pediatrics 2012;(6):541-544
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) remains a major cause of childhood blindness and visual impairment.ROP is a multifactorial disease which is associated with prematurity, low birth weight and oxygen treatment.Evidence for a genetic basis for susceptibility to ROP is examined which may help to find a new way to prevent or treatment of ROP in the future.

Purpose:To study the clinical significance and hematologic features of CD56 + Acute Myeloid Leukemia(AML). Methods:The expression of differentiation antigens on the acute myeloid leukemia cells were detected by flow cytometry(FCM);the Epstein-Barr Virus(EBV) mRNA in CD56 + AML leukemic cells by Rt-PCR assay;the ultrastructure of the CD56 + AML leukemia cells were showed by electron microscope and immuno-electron-microscope. The hematologic features and clinical characteristics at the first visit retrospectively analysed as well as the effect of chemotherapy.Results:CD56 expression rate in AML was 30.62%(79/258).EBV-mRNA were negative in all CD56 + AML cells detected. The ultrastructural characteristics showed 1-2 masses floccose objects in nucleus of CD56 + AML leukemic cells,CD56 expression had no correlation with age, sex,WBC,Hb,BPC,Leukemic cell count in BM,CR rate and CR duration(P value is 0.128,0.877,0.181,0.866,0.629,0.407,0.998 and 0.096,respectively),but there was correlation with higher extramedullary involvement(77.78% v 61.11%,P=0.019)?higher expression of CD34 (66.67% v 46.48%,P=0.03),higher expression of P170(51.79% v 34.94%,P=0.048) and shorter survival(Median,11.5 months v 18 months,P=0.0478). Conclusions:AML was a specific subtype of AML,with a poor prognosis. It may be useful to have more detailed classification with appropriate therapy for this subtype.

Cancer Research and Clinic 2015;(9):646-648
Although the treatment has made great progress in breast cancer, there are still many problems. For example, primary or secondary on chemotherapy drug resistance and the limitation of treatment in triple-negative breast cancer. So, targeted therapy has become a new strategy to improve this situation. Previous studies showed that the occurrence of breast cancer may be related to the activation of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathways, and mTOR is an index to judge the prognosis. Parts of breast cancers can obtain clinical benefit with mTOR inhibitors, and it might be a potential treatment target in breast cancer.

Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 1992;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the effects of a new radiosensitizer, nitroimidazole-derivative--Doranidazole on pancreatic cancer cells under hypoxic condition. Methods The human pancreatic cancer cell lines were exposed in vitro to a single fraction of high dose?-ray radiation either with doranidazole or under hypoxic condition. The percentage of dead cells was analyzed with a multiwell plated reader and the fluorescence intensities of propidium iodide before and after a digitonin tratment were measured. The sensitizing effect of doranidazole on cell killing by high-dose irradiation was evaluated by time-course, dose-dependency, and microscopic observations. The selective radiosensitive effect of doranidazole on hypoxic cells was evaluated by flow cytometry. Results Of seven pancreatic cancer cell lines, the mortalities of 5 cell lines were significantly increased in presence of doranidazole under hypoxic condition 5 days after 30 ?Gy irradiation, but not under aerobic condition. Meanwhile, the radiosensitizing effect of Doranidazole on pancreatic cancer cells was demonstrated as time- and dose-dependent manner. Conclusion Doranidazole can enhance the radiosensitivity on pancreatic cancer cells under hypoxic condition with high-dose irradiation.

Objective To observe the transport of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-infected peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC)through placental barrier set up by choriocarcinoma trophoblast cells (Bewo cells),and to explore the biological role of PBMC as a carrier for HBV transport. Methods Bewo cells and PBMC were cultured and their proliferation and activity were detected by cell counting kit (CCK)-8.One hundred μL serum containing 5 ×10 6 copy/mL HBV DNA was used to infect PBMC,and cells infected with HBV were labeled by fluorescent dye carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester (CFSE).A co-culture model of Bewo cells and HBV-infected PBMC was set up by transwell chamber. The migration of HBV-infected PBMC was detected by flow cytometry.Realtime fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction method was used to detect HBV DNA contents of PBMC under transwell chamber. Results PBMC and Bewo cells proliferated at around 24 h and entered into growth stagnation at around 120 h.The contents of PBMC labeled by green fluorescent at 0,12,24 and 48 h during co-culture under chamber were (0.445 ±0.021)%,(21 .180 ± 4.653 )%,(34.830 ± 7.156 )% and (64.185 ± 3.161)%,respectively.The amount of PBMC marked green fluorescence increased over prolonged incubation time (F =68.983,P =0.001 ).PBMC HBV DNA contents at 24 and 48 h of co-culture under chamber were (1.925±0.431)×103 copy/mL and (2.565 ±0.361)×103 copy/mL,respectively,indicating that PBMC under chamber were infected with HBV.Conclusions PBMC may be a target for HBV infection in extrahepatic tissues.Placental trophoblastic barrier built by transwell chambers may provide new ideas to investigate HBV transmission across the placenta in vitro .

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(40):6438-6443
BACKGROUND:Total knee replacement is regarded an effective treatment of knee osteoarthritis, based on the transformation of biology-psychology-social medicine pattern, the concept of“quality of life”has attracted increasing concerns.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of total knee replacement surgery on the pain, function and quality of life among elder patients with severe knee osteoarthritis.
METHODA total of 102 elder patients with severe knee osteoarthritis were recruited from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University between January 2010 and January 2013. The clinical manifestations and 12-month fol ow-up outcomes were observed and recorded. The involved patients were randomly divided into two grouptreatment group (59 cases, receiving total knee replacement) and control group (43 cases, receiving expectant treatment such as drugs, but no surgery). Patients were evaluated using HSS scale and WHOQOL-100 scale before surgery and 12 months after surgery. Furthermore, the correlation between influencing factors and HSS and WHOQOL-100 scores was analyzed.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 12 months postoperatively, the HSS scores of patients in treatment group was (82.03±10.17) points, which was obviously higher than that in control group (P<0.01). The WHOQOL-100 scores in treatment group were also significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.01). The psychology sub-item scores of patients after total knee replacement were close to that of normal controls (P>0.50). The regression analysis shows that marital status (β=1.988), complication (β=2.035) and HSS scores (β=2.108) are the main influencing factors for the quality of life among patients undergoing replacement. Experimental findings indicate that, HSS score is an effective indicator to assess the effect of total knee replacement on the pain and function of elder patients with severe knee osteoarthritis. WHOQOL-100 is introduced to further improve the assessment of quality of life after total knee replacement surgery in severe knee osteoarthritis. The marital status, complication and HSS scores are the key influencing factors for the quality of life among severe knee osteoarthritis patients. Deep vein thrombosis affects the out-of-bed time, and the mate-accompanying during the fol ow-ups plays a positive role on the quality of life and mental state of patients.
