Aim To investigate the effect of flavonoids from Prinsepia utilis Royle( FPR) on the histomorphol-ogy of kidney in diabetic mice, and to investigate its protective mechanism. Methods Diabetic mice in-duced by alloxan were given FPR orally each day for four weeks. After the administration for two and four weeks, ten mice in each group were randomly sacri-ficed. The kidneys were removed and weighed. The extracted renal tissue was embedded with paraffin and sectioned, the sections were stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin(HE)、Periodic acid Schiff(PAS) and Go-mori, and then observed under the microscopy. 1mm3 of renal cortex fixed with glutaral in four centi-degree , and then the ultrastructure of each group was observed under the electron microscope respectively after four weeks′ treatment. Results Compared with the model control group, in the treatment group, observation un-der the microscopy showed that glomerular volume and mesangial cells reduced, FPR could relieve thickening of the glomerular basement membrane ( GBM ) , little inflammatory cells infiltrated in the interstitium, tubular epithelial cells almost became normal, renal tubule had little glucogen, fiber decreased in the interstitium of renal tubule. Observation under the electron micro-scope indicated that foot process in podocytes lined up in order, mitochondria of the renal tubule’ s epithelial cell almost recovered. Conclusion FPR can relieve the changes of renal pathology, improve renal function, and delay the progression of pathologic changes of kid-ney in diabetic mice partly through reducing the blood glucose and the blood lipid.

Objective:In oder to investigate the effect of Chuanmingshen violaceum polysaccharides ( CVP) and Solfated Chua-nmingshen violaceum polysaccharides ( SCVP) on immunosuppression induced by cyclophosphamide ( CY) in mice. Methods: CY were used to induce immunosuppression in mice;Spleen and thymus indexes were used to evaluate the immune organs indexes;the [3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltet-razolium bromide,MTT] method was used to detect the proliferation of spleen lymphocytes of each group;the concentrations of IFN-γand IL-2 were assayed by ELISA kit. Results: SCVP and CVP could resist immunosuppression by promoting lymphocyte proliferation, increasing the contents of IFN-γ and IL-2, promoting immune organs development in immunosuppressive mice induced by CY.Conclusion:SCVP and CVP exhibited the potential to used as immunopotentiator.

BACKGROUNDTo evaluate the effect of combination chemotherapy with etoposide plus ifosfamide and cisplatin (VIP) for small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
METHODSOne-hundred and twenty patients with localized SCLC who never received chemotherapy were randomly divided into VIP regimen group and EP regimen group. The response and toxicity were evaluated after 3 cycle chemotherapy with VIP or EP respectively. In addition, salvage chemotherapy by VIP was given to 25 patients, who had progression or recurrence of the cancer after treatment with EP regimen, and the response was assessed after 3 cycles of the treatment.
RESULTSIn 118 evaluable patients, response rate was 89.6% for VIP regimen group and 78.3% for EP regimen group. There was no remarkable difference of response rates between the two groups. Toxicity of the two regimens was similar. However, complete response rate for VIP regimen group (43.1%) was significantly higher than that for EP regimen group (25.0%) (P < 0.05). In 23 patients who were progressive or relapsed after treatment with EP regimen, the complete response, partial response, progression and total response were 13.0%, 39.1%, 47.8% and 52.2% respectively.
CONCLUSIONSVIP regimen may be used as the first-line chemotherapy for localized SCLC, its efficacy is superior to that of EP regimen. VIP can also be used as salvage chemotherapy regimen for patients with SCLC who failed to EP regimen chemotherapy.

Abstract
To study the antiviral effect ofZedoary TurmericOil Injection on novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2 viroid cell lines were preparedin vitroand treated with different concentrations of Zedoary Oil. The cell number and relative fluorescence value(RLU) were observed and measured, and the 50% effective inhibitory concentration(IC 50) was calculated. Four patients with Coronavirus Disease 2019 were clinically included, including 2 in the control group and 2 in the experimental group. The control group received conventional treatment, and the experimental group receivedZedoary TurmericOil Injection in addition to conventional treatment. The nucleic acid conversion rate, conversion time, pulmonary imaging changes, fever reduction time, clinical improvement time and adverse events of the patients were observed. In vitroexperiment, the relative fluorescence value decreased with increasing concentration ofZedoary TurmericOil, which was significantly different from that of the control group(P<0.05). The IC50 was 0.26 μg/ml.In vivostudy, the novel coronavirus nucleic acid in stool of case 1 in the test group turned negative in 3 days, the cough symptom of case 2 was significantly relieved, and there was obvious absorption in pulmonary imaging. The negative conversion time of novel coronavirus nucleic acid in the control group was 5 and 7 days respectively. No adverse events occurred in the experimental group.Zedoary TurmericOil had strong inhibitory effect on SARS-COV-2 virusin vitrowhich was dose-dependent.In vivotreatment of COVID-19,Zedoary TurmericOil Injection combined with conventional treatment can improve the cough caused by SARS-COV-2 infection, promote SARS-COV-2 to turn negative, promote absorption of lung lesions, and reduce lung injury, with no obvious adverse events.
