1.Analysis of the relevant factors for ischemic necrosis of the talus fracture.
China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2015;28(4):368-370
OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship of the classification of talus fracture and surgery methods with avascular necrosis.
METHODSFrom March 2009 to November 2013, 78 patients with talus fracture were treated, of them, 43 cases were followed up from 2 to 5 years. There were 27 males and 16 females, aged from 17 to 65 years old with the mean of 38.6 years. Thirty-nine cases had talar neck injury and 4 cases had talar body injury. Different treatments were performed according to different injury conditions. The time from injury to treatment was from 6 to 48 hours. The effect of classification of talus fracture and surgery methods on avascular necrosis was analyzed.
RESULTSIn 43 cases,19 cases occurred avascular necrosis, including talar neck fracture of type I in 2 cases, type II in 5 cases, type III in 5 cases, type IV in 5 cases and talar body fracture in 2 cases (combined with talar neck fracture). And 29 patients were treated with operation, there was no statistically significant differences in avascular necrosis with different operations.
CONCLUSIONCompared with talar body fracture, talar neck fracture is more easily to develop into avascular necrosis. In the 4 types of talar neck fracture, the possibilities of type III and IV were the most ones.

This paper aims to establish a method for the determination of sulfur dioxide in sulfur fumigation Chinese herbs. Sample powder and hydrochloric acid solution were isolated by paraffin layer in order to avoid early reactions, with the generation of sulfur dioxide, headspace with airtight needle was used to transfer sulfur dioxide into gas chromatograph, and detected with thermal conductivity detector. The analytical performance was demonstrated by the analysis of 12 herbs, spiked at four concentration levels. In general, the recoveries ranging from 70% to 110%, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) within 15%, were obtained. The limit of detection (LOD) was below 10 mg x kg(-1). Standard addition can be used for low recovery samples. The method is simple, less time-consuming, specific and sensitive. Methods comparison revealed that gas chromatography is better than traditional titration in terms of method operability, accuracy and specificity, showing good application value.

A novel citrinin derivative, penicitrinol L (1), along with two known analogues, penidicitrinin B (2) and pennicitrinone A (3) were isolated from the marine-source fungus Penicillium citrinum. The structure of the new compound was elucidated by spectroscopic methods including one and two-dimensional NMR as well as high-resolution mass spectrometric analysis. Furthermore, compound 1 showed modest cytotoxic activity against HL-60 cell line and compound 3 showed weak cytotoxic activity against A375 cell line.

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2014;36(4):283-286
Objective To explore the effects of aerobic exercise and resistance training on center arterial blood pressure. Methods Fifteen healthy men who had not practiced aerobic exercise or resistance training within the previous 6 months were enrolled in this study.A self-matched pairs design was adopted. All of the subjects performed moderate intensity aerobic exercise, for 30 min initially, and after 2 weeks, performed resistance training at 60% of their l-repeat maximum effort (1-RM).Their central aortic systolic blood pressure (CSBP) before and after aerobic exercise and resistance training were measured and compared, respectively. The changes in CSBP and an augmentation index (AI) of radial artery and relative blood pressure were compared between the two interventions. Results CSBP decreased significantly after both sorts of training. The two types of training showed no significant difference in their effects on CSBP.However, after a 20 min recovery, systolic blood pressure and pulse pressure were significantly lower after aerobic exercise than after resistance training. The significant difference persisted after 20 min and 40 min of re-covery.The AI of the radial artery was also significantly lower 5 min after aerobic exercise than after resistance train-ing.Conclusions After moderate aerobic exercise and resistance training,CBSP,AI and systolic pressure all display favorable changes. However, moderate intensity aerobic exercise provides the better effect in improving blood pressure.

AIM: The multi-residues method was used to determine organophosphorus pesticides in traditional Chinese herbal medicines (TCHMs).METHODS: Fifty three pesticides were extracted by high-speed homogenization, and then cleaned sequentially by C_(18) and Carb/NH2 solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridges. The residues were simultaneously identified and quantified by GC-FPD equipped with dual tower, dual column and two FPD detectors.RESULTS: The analytical performance was demonstrated by the analysis of 6 TCHMs samples extracts, spiked at three concentration levels for each pesticide. In general, the recoveries ranging from 70% to 120%,with relative standard deviations (RSDs) less than 15%,were obtained. The limit of detection (LOD) for most of the targeted pesticides tested was below 0.01 mg/kg.CONCLUSION: The method has good extraction efficiency, purification effect and good reproducibility, which can be applied to the determination of organophosphorus pesticide residues in the routine analysis of TCHMs.

Objective To explore different treatment choices for unilateral cervical facet locking. Methods The study involved 32 patients with cervical unilateral facet locking. Successful reduction by the skull traction was done in eight patients, of whom three were fixated by the head and neck chest plas-ter after a month of traction. Five patients were treated with anterior decompression and internal fusion fixation. The other 23 patients resulted in failure of traction and then were treated with anterior reduction, discectomy and internal fusion fixation in 14 patients, subtotal vertebral decompression and bone graft fix-ation in three, posterior open reduction and anterior bone graft fixation in one, posterior reduction, fixation and internal fusion fixation in three and posterior reduction and decompression plus anterior discectomy decompression and bone graft fixation in two. Due to misdiagnosis, one patient was treated with anterior decompression and fusion eight months after injury. Results A follow-up for average 18 months showed cervical instability in two patients who were treated with only traction, without fusion. The patients treated with anterior cervical fusion obtained bone union after 12 weeks, with satisfactory cervical physiological curvature and vertebral height. There were no internal fixation complications or neurological complications. Conclusions The treatment of lower cervical unilateral facet locking needs a compre-hensive considerations on whether there associates with disc injury, posterior column fractures or spinal cord injuries. As for patients with lower cervical unilateral facet locking combined with traumatic cervical disc herniation, the anterior reduction and decompression is the choice of treatment. While for those with-out disc herniation, traction or posterior open reduction and fixation can be carried out directly.

The paper is to report the establishment of a method for the determination of multi-residue organochlorine and pyrethroid pesticides in traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs). Fifty-six pesticides were extracted by high-speed homogenization, and then purified through gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridges. The residues were simultaneously identified and quantified by GC-ECD equipped with dual tower, dual column and two micro-ECD detectors. The analytical performance was demonstrated by the analysis of 3 TCMs samples' extracts, spiked at three concentration levels for each pesticide. In general, the recoveries ranging from 70% to 110%, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) better than 15%, were obtained. The limit of detection (LOD) for most of the targeted pesticides tested was below 0.01 mg kg(-1). The method had good extraction efficiency, purification effect and good reproducibility, which could be applied to the determination of organochlorine and pyrethroid pesticide residues in the routine analysis of TCMs.
