The methods and experiences of anatomy,histology and embryology teaching in English for foreign students are discussed in this article to exchange experiences with each other and progress together.

Objective To establish the advanced lung cancer model with effusion in the pleural cavity by implanting the lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells into the lung and pleural cavity of mice.Methods The Balb /c-nu female mice were divided into three groups and injected with the subculturing lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells to make three models in the subcutaneous (group A),the lungs (group B) and the lungs and pleural cavities (group c).The survival time,weightconsume of feeds,signs and symptoms of cachexia,growth of lung cancer and pleural effusion were observed.Results The median survival time in group C and group B were obviously reduced compared with group A.The range discrete in the group A was higher than group B and group C.There was no significant difference between group B and group C in the average survival time.The effective survival time was significant different between group B and group C.There were differences among three groups in the signs and symptoms of cachexia,the weight and consume of feeds.In 4 weeks,the rate of growing effusion in the pleural cavity was 93.3％ in group C,and only 20.0％ in group B.Conclusions The mice modal implanted the lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells into the lung aud pleural cavity of mice in the same time can be as the adwanced lung cancer model with effusion in the pleural cavity.

In order to understand the alcohol's toxicity to the quantitative alternations of synapses in mouse visual cortex, the expression of synaptophysin after prenatal alcohol exposure was investigated. In present study, the experimental mice at P0, P7, P14 and P30 were grouped, as control, 2 g x kg(-1) alcohol treatment and 4 g x kg(-1) alcohol treatment. The pre-synaptic elements which were used to represent synapses were marked with synaptophysin (a synaptic vesicle associated protein) by immunocytochemistry technique. The synaptophysin positive boutons in layer VI of visual cortex were imaged under laser confocal microscope. With stereological methods, the number cal density of synapse in visual cortex was calculated in different groups at various ages. Moreover, Western blotting was carried out to detect the expression of synaptophysin in visual cortex. The results showed that prenatal alcohol exposure could cause synaptic loss with long-term effect and in a dose dependent manner. For instance, there were significant difference among the different treatment groups of P0, P14 and P30 as well (P < 0.05). Western blotting supported the results of immunofluorescent labeling. In conclusion, prenatal alcohol exposure can induce the synaptic loss dose dependently and with long-term effect. Our findings implicate that the synaptic loss with long-term effect in CNS probably contributes to the lifelong mental retardation and memorial lowliness associated with childhood FAS.

Objective To summarize the experiences and results of completed surgical treatment for double outlet of right ventricle in 135 cases.Methods From May 2007 to May 2012,135 cases with double outlet of the right ventricle,males are 79 cases,female are 56 cases,age from 25 days to 12 years,weigh is 3.5-30.0 kg,underwent surgical procedure.There were 89 cases subaortic ventricular septal defect,33 cases doubly committed ventricular septal defect,repaired VSD with introventricular tunnel and relive right ventricle outflow tract directly with pericardial patch.There are 8 cases subpulmonary (Taussing-Bing)VSD,5 received Rastelli procedure,3 received arterial switch procedure and repaird VSD.There are 5 cases noncommited VSD,3 received Rastelli procedure,2 received arterial switch procedure and repaired VSD.Results Four cases died in the early postoperative period,with a mortality of 3.70％.1 case with subpulmonary VSD was performed arterial switch procedure and repaired VSD.1 case with noncommited VSD,2 cases with subaortic VSD(with pulmonary stenosis) were performed repaired VSD with introventricular tunnel and relive right ventricle outflow tract directly with pericardial patch.1 case with noncommited VSD was performed Rastelli procedure.Conclusion The anatomic type,especially the position of ventricular septal defect,correlates with surgical strategy significantly.

Aim To isolate, purify, and chemically characterize a polysaccharide showing inhibition of the six-?-helix bundle formation of HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein gp41 from cultured broth of a streptomyces sp.strain. Methods Ethanol was used to precipitate polysaccharides and macromolecules from the broth.Proteins in the precipitate were removed by sevage method.Purification was carried out by DEAE-Cellulose and sephadex G-25 column chromatography. The chemical structure of the polysaccharide was determined with the combined application of HPLC,UV,IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy, and the methods of periodate oxidation and Smith degradation,etc. Activity of anti-HIV-1 ~gp41 six-?-helix bundle formation was assayed withsandwich ELISA method.Results The purified polysaccharide,designated as SMP for Streptomyces polysaccharide,is neutral with a molecular weight of approximately 4855 Daltons. Sugar analysis showed SMP contains glucose and fructose residues in an approximate molar ratio of 22∶1 (10.96 to 0.48). The glycosidic linkages were estimated to be (1→4)-?-D-pyranoside as its main chain, and 1→6 linkage was attached to the main chain. Activity analysis revealed SMP markedly inhibited the six-?-helix bundle formation of HIV-1 glycoprotein gp41 and the IC_~50 was (145.48?7.25) mg?L~-1 .Conclusion Streptomyces polysaccharide SMP showing inhibition of the six-?-helix bundle formation of HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein gp41 was isolated and purified.

Objective To study the relationship between radiation gastritis ( RG ) caused by esophageal cancer radical postoperative prophylactic IMRT and the dose of gastric. Methods A total of 49 esophageal cancer patients received postoperative adjuvant radiatherapy after esophagectomy, we analysised the dose?volume histogram of treatment plan and the the occurrence of RG, To analysis those physical indicators may be related to the occurrence of RG. The of ROC curve to analysis the physical index of the occurrence of acute radiation gastritis, Chi square test is compared between groups, Logistic method was used to multivariate analysis. Results The whole group, a total of 19 cases ( 39%) patients with symptoms of acute RG level 2 or higher. The results of ROC curve analysis showed that the physical variables associated with the occurrence of RG include stomach Max,stomach Mean,LSTT5?LSTT40 and V5?V50.According to the ROC curve,the cutoff values of the physical parameters of the patients were grouped. The incidence of acute≥2RG in the group of above boundary value patients significantly higher than below boundary value group, the physical index of the differences between groups were significant (P=0. 000?0. 022),except V5.The results of Logistic multivariate analysis showed that LSTT5 and V40 were independent predictor of≥2 RG (P=0. 026,0. 001). Conclusions According to the results of this study,We should pay attention to the protection of the stomach in develop a treatment plan for the prevention of postoperative patients with esophageal cancer,dose?volume histogram can well predict the occurrence of RG. Stomach LSTT5 and V40 were independent predictor of≥2 RG.The results of this study need to be further studied.

OBJECTIVETo explore the anatomical features and measure the width of the coronal sulcus of the penis.

METHODSWe observed the coronal sulcus of the penis in 269 males aged 19 -66 (mean 28) years. Among them, 137 had redundant prepuce, 11 had phimosis, 90 were normal men, and 30 had been circumcised for redundant prepuce and 1 for phimosis. The width of the sulcus was measured with the vernier caliper at the 12 o'clock position, i. e. , the middle point of the dorsal. The results were compared among different groups.

RESULTSThe mucosa of the sulcus was relatively flat, smooth and not so active. Generally, the anterior line of the coronal sulcus was indistinct, whereas the posterior line was clear and easy to be identified. The widths of the coronal sulcus were (4.32 +/- 3.44), (4.06 +/- 2.68) and (4.22 +/- 3.06) mm in the redundant prepuce, phimosis and normal groups, with no statistically significant differences among the three (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONEnough attention should be paid to the width of the coronal sulcus of the penis in clinical practice. The posterior line of the coronal sulcus should be chosen as the positioning standard for inner incision in circumcision.

The prenatal ethanol exposure induced the alterations of dendritic spine and synapse in visual cortex and their long-term effect would be investigated in mice from P0 to P30. Pregnant mice were intubated ethanol daily from E5 through the pup's birth to establish mode of prenatal alcohol abuse. The dendritic spines of pyramidal cells in visual cortex of pups were labeled with DiI diolistic assay, and the synaptic ultrastructure was observed under transmission electron microscope. Prenatal alcohol exposure was associated with a significant decrease in the number of dendritic spines of pyramidal neurons in the visual cortex and an increase in their mean length; ultrastructural changes were also observed, with decreased numbers of synaptic vesicles, narrowing of the synaptic cleft and thickening of the postsynaptic density compared to controls. Prenatal alcohol exposure is associated with long-term changes in dendritic spines and synaptic ultrastructure. The changes were dose-dependent with long term effect even at postnatal 30.

Anxiety disorder is one of the most common mental disorders and seriously impairs the physical and mental health of patients. Due to the efficacy of acupuncture for tranquilization, acupuncture displays its unique advantage on the treatment of anxiety disorder, but the relevant biological mechanism has not been elaborated. The modern medicine study has proved that the heart and brain have their own independent natriuretic peptide (NP) system. The dysfunction of ANP and its receptor are closely related to the occurrence of anxiety disorder. The ANP acts on anti-anxiety. Hence, focusing on the three aspects, named the anti-anxiety effect of acupuncture based on its tranquilizing effect, the anti-anxiety effect of ANP and the positive regulation of acupuncture on NP, the mechanism on ANP and its receptor was explored in anti-anxiety with acupuncture based on tranquilizing effect, and the idea was put forward on that the anti-anxiety effect of acupuncture was possibly based on its action of tranquilization through regulating the ANP and its receptor. As a result, it is expected to provide the theoretic support for the mechanism study on anti-anxiety with acupuncture based on its tranquilizing effect.

OBJECTIVETo observe the regulatory effect of Bushen Jianpi Recipe (BSJPR) on cellular immunity the of primary liver cancer patients of Gan-Shen yin-deficiency and Pi qi-deficiency syndrome type after intervention therapy.

METHODSAccording to the multi-center randomized controlled principle, 117 patients after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) were assigned to two groups, 60 in the treated group and 57 in the control group, who were treated respectively with BSJPR and liver protecting remedy (silymarin and vitamin c) for 12 weeks. Changes in TCM syndrome, quality of life (QOL), immediate effect on tumor size and survival time were observed. Meantime, the cellular immune function was also observed, including the T lymphocyte response determined by 3H-TdR, expression of MHC class I/II and B7 molecule detected by FACS, and interleukin 10 and 12 (IL-10, IL-12), interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) tested by ELISA.

RESULTSIn the treated group after treatment, the efficacy for improving TCM syndrome reached 73.33% (44/60 cases), their half-year survival rate being 83.33% (50/60 cases); while those in the control group were 52.63% (30/57 cases) and 70.18% (40/57 cases) respectively, significant difference was shown between the two groups (P <0.05). The patients' QOL was improved in the treated group after treatment, with no obvious adverse reaction. However, the clinical benefit rate in the control group (92.7%, 51/55 cases) was higher than that in the treated group (78.0%, 46/59 cases, P =0. 035). Laboratory examination showed increases of MHC class II (CD14+/HLA-DR) expression on monocyte surface as well as IFN-gamma and IL-12 production in the treated group.

CONCLUSIONUsing BSJPR together with TACE could enhance patients' cellular immune function to elevate the clinical curative effect on primary liver cancer.
