This study aims to provide evidence for clinical practice by systematically reviewing the efficacy and safety of Gusongbao preparation in the treatment of primary osteoporosis(POP). The relevant papers were retrieved from four Chinese academic journal databases and four English academic journal databases(from inception to May 31, 2022). The randomized controlled trial(RCT) of Gusongbao preparation in the treatment of POP was included after screening according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The quality of articles was evaluated using risk assessment tools, and the extracted data were subjected to Meta-analysis in RevMan 5.3. A total of 657 articles were retrieved, in which 15 articles were included in this study, which involved 16 RCTs. A total of 3 292 patients(1 071 in the observation group and 2 221 in the control group) were included in this study. In the treatment of POP, Gusongbao preparation+conventional treatment was superior to conventional treatment alone in terms of increasing lumbar spine(L2-L4) bone mineral density(MD=0.03, 95%CI[0.02, 0.04], P<0.000 01) and femoral neck bone mineral density, reducing low back pain(MD=-1.69, 95%CI[-2.46,-0.92], P<0.000 1) and improving clinical efficacy(RR=1.36, 95%CI[1.21, 1.53], P<0.000 01). Gusongbao preparation was comparable to similar Chinese patent medicines in terms of improving clinical efficacy(RR=0.95, 95%CI[0.86, 1.04], P=0.23). Gusongbao preparation was inferior to similar Chinese patent medicines in reducing traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores(MD=1.08, 95%CI[0.44, 1.71], P=0.000 9) and improving Chinese medicine syndrome efficacy(RR=0.89, 95%CI[0.83, 0.95], P=0.000 4). The incidence of adverse reactions of Gusongbao preparation alone or combined with conventio-nal treatment was comparable to that of similar Chinese patent medicines(RR=0.98, 95%CI[0.57, 1.69], P=0.94) or conventio-nal treatment(RR=0.73, 95%CI[0.38, 1.42], P=0.35), and the adverse reactions were mainly gastrointestinal discomforts. According to the available data, Gusongbao preparation combined with conventional treatment is more effective than conventional treatment alone in increasing lumbar spine(L2-L4) bone mineral density and femoral neck bone mineral density, reducing low back pain, and improving clinical efficacy. The adverse reactions of Gusongbao preparation were mainly gastrointestinal discomforts, which were mild.

Objective :
To investigate the correlation between tongue and pulse indicators and the outcome of live birth in patients undergoing frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET), as well as the association between these indicators and patients’ endocrine parameters.
Methods:
This study was conducted at Reproductive Medicine Center, Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai, China, from March 8, 2021 to January 5, 2022. Patients undergoing FET were divided into live birth and non-live birth groups according to their live birth outcome. The differences between the endocrine parameters [basic follicle stimulating hormone (b FSH), basic luteinizing hormone (b LH), basic estradiol (b E2), basic progesterone (b P), basal endometrial thickness, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) on endometrial transition day, luteinizing hormone (LH) on endometrial transition day, estradiol (E2) on endometrial transition day, progesterone (P) on endometrial transition day, and endometrial thickness on endometrial transition day] and the tongue and pulse indicators [tongue body (TB)-L, TB-a, TB-b, tongue coating (TC)-L, TC-a, TC-b, perAll, perPart, h1, h4, h5, t1, h1/t1, and h4/h1] of patients in the two groups were analyzed, with the correlation between these variables analyzed as well using Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Multivariate logistic regression was employed to identify the influential factors in the live birth prediction models across various datasets, including Model 1 consisting of endocrine indicators only, Model 2 solely consisting of tongue and pulse indicators, and Model 3 consisting of both tongue, pulse, and endocrine indicators, as well as to evaluate efficacy of the models derived from different datasets.
Result:
This study included 78 patients in live birth group and 144 patients in non-live birth group. Compared with non-live birth group, live birth group exhibited higher levels of TB-L (P = 0.01) and TB-a (P = 0.04), while demonstrated lower levels of b FSH (P = 0.01), perAll (P = 0.04), and h4/h1 (P = 0.03). The Spearman’s correlation coefficient analysis revealed statistically significant correlation (P < 0.05) between TB-L, TB-b, TC-L, TC-b, perAll, perPart, h4, h5, t1, h1/t1 and b FSH, b LH, basal endometrial thickness, LH on endometrial transition day, E2 on endometrial transition day, P on endometrial transition day, and endometrial thickness on endometrial transition day in live birth group. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the prediction Model 3 for live birth outcome [area under the curve (AUC): 0.917,95% confidence interval (CI): 0.863 − 0.971, P < 0.001] surpassed the Model 1 (AUC: 0.698,95% CI: 0.593 − 0.803, P = 0.001), or the Model 2 (AUC: 0.790, 95% CI: 0.699 − 0.880, P < 0.001). The regression equations for the live birth outcomes, integrating tongue and pulse indicators with endocrine parameters, included the following measures: FSH on endometrial transition
day [odds ratio (OR): 0.523, P = 0.025], LH on endometrial transition day (OR: 1.277, P = 0.029), TB-L (OR: 2.401, P = 0.001), perPart (OR: 1.018, P = 0.013), h1(OR: 0.065, P = 0.021), t1 (OR: 4.354, P = 0.024), and h4/h1 (OR: 0.018, P = 0.016).
Conclusion
In infertility patients undergoing FET, there exists a correlation between tongue and pulse indicators and endocrine parameters. The corporation of tongue and pulse indicators significantly improved the predictive capability of the model for live birth outcomes. Specifically, tongue and pulse indicators such as TB-L, perPart, h1, t1, and h4/h1 exhibited a discernible correlation with the ultimate live birth outcomes.

Objective:To observe the possible toxicity of long-term intravenous injection of Tanreqing injection in Beagle dogs, so as to provide experimental data for its clinical safe medication. Method:A total of 32 Beagle dogs (16 males and 16 females) were randomly divided into the low- (2.5 mL·kg-1), medium- (5.0 mL·kg-1), and high-dose (10.0 mL·kg-1) Tanreqing injection groups and control group according to their body mass indices, with eight dogs in each group. In the waking state, the dogs were treated with intravenous injection of corresponding drugs into the medial cephalic vein of forelimb for 13 weeks, followed by four-week drug withdrawal. After the observation of general condition, body mass, and food consumption, the Beagle dogs were subjected to electrocardiography, ophthalmoscopy, hematological examination, serum biochemistry, and blood coagulation test in the middle of medication (week 6), at the end of medication (week 13), and during recovery (week 17). Then the gross anatomy was conducted for calculating the major organ coefficients and observing the histopathological changes. Result:No obvious toxic reaction was found in each group, but the decreased fibrinogen and increased Kupffer's cells phagocytizing yellow-brown pigment in hepatic sinusoids were observed in the high-dose Tanreqing injection group following three months of medication. Reduction of fibrinogen was not observed in recovery period, but Kupffer's cells that phagocytized yellow-brown pigment still existed. Conclusion:The intravenous injection of Tanreqing injection at 2.50 mL·kg-1 (low dose), 5.00 mL·kg-1 (medium dose) or 10.00 mL·kg-1 (high dose) for three months in Beagle dogs resulted in no obvious toxic reaction. However, it is still suggested to test the liver function and blood coagulation after long-term administration of high-dose Tanreqing injection.

The incidence of spontaneous abortion (SAB) has been increasing year by year, and its etiology is complex, with limited treatment options, which poses a serious threat to social stability. The "disease-syndrome-therapy" research model can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for preventing miscarriage, but there has always been a lack of key and recognized diagnostic and treatment evaluation markers, which need to be further explored to establish a scientific and unified evaluation standard system. It is proposed to collect existing "disease-syndrome-therapy" SAB animal models, transplant and improve the model evaluation indicators, evaluate the degree of match between SAB animal models and the clinical characteristics of TCM and Western medicine diseases and syndromes, and compare the advantages and disadvantages of different SAB animal models in terms of construction methods, target selection, and evaluation indicators. In addition, the frontiers of TCM experimental research will be explored. In view of the current status and related bottlenecks of molecular biomarkers research on SAB TCM animal models, a single-cell multimodal omics research strategy will be proposed to break through the related evaluation defects of the "disease-syndrome-therapy" SAB and analyze the differences in various cell types, cell subpopulations, spatiotemporal trajectories, and gene expression in the mother-fetal interface tissue at the single-cell level. This will provide accurate guidance and model animal platform support for the in-depth study of disease-syndrome models, Zang-fu biology, and novel targeted drugs. It will also provide a basis for establishing a stable and repeatable "disease-syndrome-therapy" SAB animal model and evaluation indicator system, which is beneficial for the long-term development of TCM reproductive animal model research.
