AIM: To observe and study the influence of cardiac sympathetic nerve on QT dispersion (QTd) and the circadian variations of QTd in experimental rabbits. Objective To evaluate the therapy and turnover of Kawasaki disease(KD)with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PD)deficiency.Methods Six hundred and twenty-four patients with KD were selected including 32 patients who had G-6-PD defected.The same dose intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG)was used in all 624 patients(2 g/kg),but used Dipyridamole in 32 patients had G-6-PD deficiency which replaced the role of acetylsalicylic acid(ASA)after acute period.The coronary artery of these patients were checked and followed-up through echocardiograph.The turnover of 32 patients with G-6-PD deficiency and 356 case selected randomly from all the KD patients were compared.SPSS 10.0 software was used to analyze the data.Results In 32 cases of KD with G-6-PD deficiency,4 children had coronary aneurysm(12.5%).After 6-12 months follow-up,the coronary lesions were recovered in 62.5% children,improved in 21.9% children and not improved in 15.6% childern,which were not significantly different from all the KD patients(Z=-1.604 P=1.09).Conclusions IVIG and Dipyridamole are feasible in treating KD with G-6-PD deficiency.J Appl Clin Pediatr,2009,24(1):26-27

Acyl carrier protein is an essential component involved in the biosynthesis of DHA(Docosahexaenoic Acid) via PKS(Polyketide synthase) pathway,which takes the growing acyl chain from one enzyme to another.One cDNA clone,with high homology of ACP,was isolated from Schizochytrium sp.FJU-512 cDNA library.The deduced amino acid sequence contained 142 residues with isoelectric point of 5.04 and had the 4'-phosphopantetheine prosthetic(4'-PP) binding site.The target fragment was digested with BamHⅠ/HindⅢand inserted into the expression vector pET-30a resulting in the plasmid pET-30a/acp.The recombinant vector was transformed into E.coli BL21(DE3) and induced by IPTG.SDS-PAGE analysis demonstrated that ACP was effectively expressed.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of orthokeratology on progression of juvenile myopia and analysis its influencing factors.METHODS: Totally 97 patients (189 eyes,aging from 8 to 17 years old) who received orthokeratology lenses treatment in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2014,were followed up for 2a.The visual acuity,corneal curvature,diopter,and ocular axial length were observed.Factors of influencing myopia progress in juvenile were analyzed.RESULTS: At 1mo after receiving orthokeratology contact lenses,the visual acuity and corneal curvature were changed compared with that of before(P<0.001).After 2a of receiving orthokeratology contact lenses,the difference was significant compared with baseline: spherical equivalence (-0.51±0.64D,t=10.864,P<0.001),axial length(0.33±0.31mm,t=14.879,P<0.001),corneal astigmatism (-0.25±0.43D,t=5.375,P<0.001).Statistic analysis showed that there was a negative correlation between the spherical equivalence and age,baseline of diopter or ocular axial length(P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Orthokeratology can effectively improve the visual acuity of patients.Although there is slightly progression in diopter and ocular length after 2a of wearing orthokeratology contact lenses.Orthokeratology is an effective treatment on controlling progression of juvenile myopia,especially in the elder children who with the longer basic axial length and the greater diopter.

Chemotherapy-induced neuropathy is a serious clinical problem for patients receiving cancer treatment. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential efficacy of pregabalin in chemotherapy-induced neuropathy in rats. A total of 35 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: group 1, naive control; group 2, treated with pregabalin (30 mg/kg p.o., for 8 days); group 3, docetaxel was given by single intravenous infusion at 10 mg/kg; groups 4 and 5, pregabalin at 10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg respectively was orally administered for 8 days after the docetaxel treatment. On day 8, behavioral test was performed, and substance P and CGRP release in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and sciatic nerve were analyzed by electron microscope. Our results showed that docetaxel induced mechanical allodynia, mechanical hyperalgesia, heat hypoalgesia, cold allodynia, and sciatic nerve impairment and substance P and CGRP release in DRG. However, oral administration of pregabalin (10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg) for 8 consecutive days significantly attenuated docetaxel-induced neuropathy by ameliorating heat hypoalgesia, cold allodynia, impairment of sciatic nerve and reducing the release of substance P and CGRP. The findings in the present study reveal that pregabalin may be a potential treatment agent against chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.

With more and more attention and investment on acupuncture scientific researches, considerable outcomes and achievements has been acquired, but the shortcoming of low transformation rate of acupuncture research achievements is gradually exposed. Nowadays there is no related report on this problem, so based on achievement translational research in other areas and practical situation of acupuncture, the existing problems and solutions are analyzed. As a result, the existing problems include (1) the research content is mainly basic research and clinical research but less acupuncture device research, leading to limited transformation efficiency; (2) the evaluation system and transformation pattern are still needed to be perfect. The solutions are (1) to properly evaluate the research achievements of acupuncture, (2) to advocate the concept and method of translational medicine, (3) to reform the policy and system, and (4) to establish valid platforms covering research, outcomes and transformation.

Objective To investigate the effects and relations of carvedilol on heart rate turbulence and secretion of sympathetic nerve in patients with myocardial infarction. Methods Sixty-six patients selected with acute myocardial infarction were randomized to enroll into experimental group ( n = 33 ) treated with earvedilol and control group( n = 33 ) treated with metoprolol for 12 months follow-up treatment. The concenrrarions of plasma norepinephrine(NE) and epinephrine (E) and 24 hour Holter monitoring were messured respectively before the treatment ,after 6 months and 12 months; and new cardiac events were supervised for all cases. Quantification of heart rate turbulenee(HRT) were carried out by computer analyzing two factors: turbulence onset(TO) and turbulence slope(TS) from the data of 24 hour Holter monitoring. NE,E,TO,TS and the occurrence rate of new cardiac events were compared between two groups and in different times of treatment. The correlation between TO,TS and NE,E was analysed. Results Before the treatment, there was no significant differences between two groups to the comparisons of NE,E,TO and TS(P＞0.05). After treating 6 and 12 months, NE, E and TO of experimental group were all lower than control group's significantly, accordingly TS were all higher(P＜0.05). By comparing 3 times( before,after 6 and 12 months of treatment), NE, E and TO of two groups dropped, meanwhile TS rose; experimental group showed significant changes( P＜0.05 ), but control group showed no significant differences(P＞0.05 ). The occurrence rate of new cardiac events of experimental group was lower than control group's significantly (P＜0.05 ).There was significant correlation between NE, E and TO, TS (P＜0.05 ). Conclusion Carvedilol treatment can block the secretion of sympathetic nerve after myocardial infarction and prevent the occurrences of new cardiac events significantly; the changes of the secretion of sympathetic nerve can play an important role for heart rate turbulence (HRT) ,the changes of HRT would be hopeful to predict new cardiac events alter myocardial infarction.

Objective To study the effects of different glucocorticasteroid(GCS) inhalation regimens for remissive children with asthma. Methods Three hundred and twenty - three patients with moderate asthma were enrolled on a 12 - week randomized parallel group remissive treatment after a 4 - week baseline treatment. During the baseline treatment terbutaline sulfate 250 ?g tid a day and bud esonide 200 ?g twice a day were given, and oral bronchodilators were used if necessary. The remissive treatment were composed of budesomde inhabit ion 100 ?g once a day (group A), 100 ?g twice a day(group B) and 200 ?g once a day(group 0). Patients subsequently returned to the clinic for 3 additional clinic visits (4,8 and 12 weeks) or telephone visits . On every clinic visit, the daytime and nocturnal time seventy score were recorded and spirometry was conducted in patients who were capable of performing the maneuver. Results Ultimately, 323 children were enrolled on the baseline treatment and 281 (87%) children achieved clinical remission. AIM: To make a contrast and then analyze the difference of optical coherence tomography (OCT) before and after vitreomacular traction syndrome (VTS) was performed.METHODS: The clinical date of 11 evaluable eyes of 11 patients with VTS who were diagnosed by OCT and underwent 25G vitreous surgery from January 2013 to January 2014 were retrospectively analyzed.Patients were followed up for an average of 6mo, to observe the visual acuity and OCT examination of the patient before and after operation.We compared the changes of retinal thickness and local morphology before and after operation.RESULTS: After vitreous retraction, 6 eyes improved, 2 eyes do not improve.One eye received macular membrane traction, in the operation the macular epiretinal membrane peeling, retrial membrane stripping and the triamcinolone acetonide intravitreal injection were given, but after the operation, the vision does not improve.Two eyes received vitreous combined with retinal macular membrane traction.In the operation, macular epiretinal membrane stripping was given, after the operation, visual acuity improved.The proportion of those with visual acuity of 0.1 or more increased from 46% before to 73% after the operation.Before operations, the mean central macular thickness was 619.27±195.13μm, 239.12±143.84μm after, which decreased significantly (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Vitrectomy can effectively relieve the vitreous traction of the macula, and can prevent further decline in visual acuity and reduce macular edema as well as improve the visual acuity of some patients.So, OCT has important guiding significance on the diagnosis and prognosis of this group.
