OBJECTIVE:To observe therapeutic efficacy of Xinyi biyan pills combined with budilaide in the treatment of aller-gic rhinitis and its effects on related inflammatory factors. METHODS:A total od 120 patients with allergic rhinitis were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 60 cases in each group. Control group was treated with Budesonide nasal spray,spraying once each nostril(64 μg/spray),2 times a day. Observation group was additionally treated with Xinyi biyan pills 3 g,3 times a day. Treatment course lasted for 4 weeks. Clinical efficacies of 2 groups were observed and compared. The changes of total score of clinical symptoms and signs were observed before and after treatment. The contents of IgE and LTE4 were deter-mined,and the occurrence of ADR was recorded. RESULTS:Three patients of observation group and 4 patients of control group fell of the study. Total response rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group,with statistical signifi-cance (84.21% vs. 73.21%,P<0.05). Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in total score of clinical symptoms and signs,IgE and LTE4 levels between 2 groups (P>0.05). After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment,total score of clinical symptoms and signs,IgE and LTE4 levels in 2 groups were significantly lower than before treatment,and the observation group was signifi-cantly lower than control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). No obvious ADR was found in 2 groups. CONCLU-SIONS:Xinyi biyan pills combined with budesonide show good therapeutic efficacy for allergic rhinitis,improve clinical symp-toms and signs significantly and reduce inflammatory factors levels with good safety.

Objective To investigate the effect of enamel matrix proteins (EMPs) on gene expression in human bone marrow stromal cells (hBMSCs) by cDNA microarray. Methods hBMSCs were cultured in vitro by whole bone marrow technique. Those stimulated with EMPs at a concentration of 200 ?g/mL in vitro were classified as test group, and those normally cultured were served as control. Afer culturing for 5 days, a cDNA microarray containing 4 096 genes was used to detect and analyze the gene expression. Four differentially-expressed genes in cDNA microarray were determined by real-time PCR for validation of the microarray data. Results Twenty-seven genes of hBMSCs were differentially expressed in the presence of EMPs, among which 18 were up-regulated and 9 down-regulated. The result of real-time PCR was in accordance with that of the cDNA microarray. Conclusion cDNA microarray technique can screen the differentially-expressed genes in hBMSCs treated with EMPs, which lays a foundation for the research of molecular mechanism of EMPs in inducing the regeneration of periodontal tissue.

Objective To find out whether Shanghai residents have mastered the knowledge related to iodine deficiency disorders (IDD),and how they choose different kind of salt.Methods Residents were selected by stratified random sampling from all 18 districts(counties) of Shanghai in 2010.Simple random sampling was used at the first level; random function was used at the second level to produce the last 4 numbers of a phone number.People who own the number were selected to be called.Results Totally 219 people completed the investigation.49.3％ (108/219) of the residents only selected iodized salt,and 25.6％(56/219) choose non-iodized salt; 6.8％ (15/219) selected both,and 18.3％ (40/219) don't care.About the reason of choosing iodized salt,25.9％ (28/108) thought it can prevent IDD,6.5％ (7/108) thought it's good to children's intelligence.About the reason of choosing non-iodized salt,35.7％ (20/56) thought they were not iodine deficiency,17.9％ (10/56) thought Shanghai was not an IDD epidemic region.Among the 126 people who had heard of iodine deficiency disorders,7.1％ (9/126) believed that iodine deficiency disorders can lead to varying degrees of mental impairment,65.1％ (82/126) thought it can lead to endemic goiter; 45.2％(57/126) thought eating iodized salt and 33.3％ (42/126) thought eating kelp and laver can prevent IDD.58％(127/219) had no idea of IDD and/or its hazards.Conclusions The resident's knowledge on iodine deficiency disorders is not satisfactory.We should make more effort in health education and help people to choose salt reasonably.

Objective To investigate the expression of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and mucin MUC5AC in nasal mucosa before and after chronic rhinitis - sinusitis and nasal polyps - endoscopic sinus surgery.Methods 75 cases chronic rhinitis - sinusitis and nasal polyps - endoscopic sinus surgery patients were selected as nasal polyps group and 75 cases of nasal bone fracture or epistaxis patients as the control group from January 2012 to January 2015. Took the samples of nasal polyps before surgery and the maxillary sinus mucosa specimens after surgery six weeks of nasal polyps’ patients and on the edge of the inferior turbinate mucosa specimens of the control group to detect eosinophil count by HE staining, and detect the expression of VEGF and mucin MUC5AC by immunohistochemical staining.Results The specimens eosinophils of preoperative nasal polyp group and postoperative nasal polyp group were higher than that of control group (P < 0.05), the nasal eosinophils of postoperative nasal polyp group was lower than that of preoperative nasal polyp group (P < 0.05). The expression of specimens VEGF and mucin MUC5AC area percentages in preoperative nasal polyp group and postoperative nasal polyp group were higher than that in control group (P < 0.05), the expression of nasal VEGF and mucin MUC5AC area percentages in the postoperative nasal polyp group was lower than that of preoperative nasal polyp group (P< 0.05).Conclusion Eosinophil count and the expression levels of VEGF and mucin MUC5AC of nasal mucosa in chronic rhinitis - sinusitis and nasal polyps - endoscopic sinus surgery preoperative are higher, and reduce at postoperative six weeks, VEGF and mucin MUC5AC may be involved nasal repair.

Objective To explore the application of naphthyl ethylenediamine method for determination of nitrite in cosmetics. Methods The concentrations of nitrite in cosmetics were determined by hydrochloric acid-naphthylethylenediamine method. The experiments on working curve, precision and recovery rate were carried out. Results In the range of 0～12. 5 μg/50 ml nitrite,the correlation coefficient r value,recovery rate and relative standard deviation was 0. 9996,97. 7％～100. 2％ and 2.35％～4. 51％ respectively. Conclusion This method for determination of nitrite by hydrochloric acid and naphthyl ethylenediamine was simple,quick and accurate.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of Medpor ( porous high density polyethylene )as a padding material in correction of sunken eyelid after hydroxyapatite (HA) implantation. Methods We used Medpor in 17 patients ( 10 male and 7 female ), aged from 18 to 43 years (mean 26.6 years ), in which 9 cases had concomitant orbital fractures. The Medpor was implanted after HA sphere implantation ranged from 2 to 19 months ( average 6.7 months ). 17 consecutive patients with implantation of HA sphere were filled with Medpor under the periosteum. All of the cases were examined by CT scanning to distinguish orbital lesions with or without fracture. In the orbital fracture cases, we first repaired orbit bone defects with Medpor. Results There were no secondary infection or implant rejection occurred after following up for 1 to 18 months (average 8.7 months ). All patients' cosmesis was acceptable. 14 of 17 patients gained symmetric appearance. Although 3 patients had slight sunken eyelid, they gained a dramatic improvement of facial appearance nevertheless. Conclusions Sunken eyelid after HA sphere implant is related with orbital fracture as well as relative reduction of orbital content. Medpor presents fine biological compatibility. It is also easy to remodel and fix during operation. Medpor is a good implant for treatment of sunken eyelid after HA sphere orbital implantaion. [

Objective To optimize the method of isolating ,culturing and screening fetal mouse liver stem cells in vitro ,and to identify the potential of bi‐directional differentiation .Methods The fetal liver stem cells of mouse were isolated by the density gra‐dient centrifugation and cell difference adherence method ,the proliferation of stem cells was determined by cell plate cloning tech‐nique and MTT method;stem cells were induced for differentiation by adding DMSO and HGF .Results The isolated stem cells showed adherence within 24 h ,which were orbicular‐ovate ,closely packed ,activated within 1~2 weeks ;the positive rates of CD133 , CD49f and EPCAM were (97 .95 ± 1 .21)% ,(92 .71 ± 3 .49)% and (50 .73 ± 3 .45)% respectively ;AFP and CK19 proteins were expressed;red glycogen granules were seen by PAS after induced differentiation;ALB and HNF‐4αwere expressed .Conclusion Fe‐tal hepatic stem cells are successfully isolated by the density gradient centrifugation combined with difference adherence method ,and the isolated cells have strong stemness and proliferation ability ,as well as the ability of bi‐directional differentiation towards hepato‐cytes and bile duct epithelial cells .

Helicobacter pylori (Hp) is a kind of Gram negative pathogen which serious threats human health. With the widespread use of antibiotics, the drug resistance of Hp is more and more serious, which has become the leading cause of failure in the treatment of Hp related diseases. Therefore, effective ways to find the intervention of drug resistance of Hp have become a practical problem to be solved in clinic. TCM and Western medicine in the treatment of drug resistant of Hp play their respective advantages. This article analyzed the research status quo and intervention effects of TCM and Western medicine for drug resistance of Hp, with a purpose to provide a new path for clinical treatment of Hp related diseases.
