Objective: To simultaneously detect five components (phillyrin, chlorogenic acid, chlorpheniramine maleate, vitamin C and acetaminophen) in compound paracetamol vitamin C Yinqiao tablets.Methods: Using a Waters Xselect C18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm), the mobile phase consisted of acetonitril-0.1 mol·L-1 NaH2PO4(pH 3.0) with gradient elution at a flow rate of 1.0 ml·min-1.The detection wavelength was 230 nm and the column temperature was 35℃.Results: The linear range of vitamin C, acetaminophen, chlorogenic acid, chlorphenamine maleate and phillyrin was 0.500-200.200, 0.499-199.600, 0.501-200.100, 0.502-200.900 and 0.488-195.400 μg·ml-1(r＞0.999), respectively.The average recovery was 99.3%(RSD=1.5%), 97.8%(RSD=1.7%), 98.5%(RSD=1.1%), 97.1%(RSD=1.7%)and 99.8%(RSD=1.2%)(n=9), respectively.Conclusion: The simple and sensitive method can be applied in the quality control of compound paracetamol vitamin C Yinqiao tablets.

Interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF-5) can induce the expressions of IFN-α,IFN-β and promote the secretion of cytokines,including IL-6,IL-12 b,IL-17,IL-23,TNF etc.IRF-5 is involved in the process of immune response,cell growth,cell differentiation,cell apoptosis,tumorigenesis and cell signal transduction.For that reason,IRF-5 plays an important role in the occurrence and progress of many diseases in humans.Further studies of IRF-5 will better elucidate the pathogenesis of related diseases and provide theoretical basis for treatment of these diseases and the corresponding therapeutic targets.

Objective To evaluate the relevance between transthoracic echocardiography(TTE)and cardiac catheterization in measuring diameter of patent ductus arteriosus(PDA)and assessing pulmonary artery pressure.Methods The diameter of PDA and the pulmonary artery pressure in 105 patients were observed by TTE and cardiac catheterization,respectively.Results The di-ameter of the narrowest segment of the ductus and pulmonary artery pressure measurements by TTE and cardiac catheterization showed excellent correlation(r=0.782,P<0.01;r=0.810,P<0.01,respectively).Conclusion TTE and cardiac catheterization for measuring diameter of PDA and pulmonary artery pressure show excellent correlation.TTE plays an important role in evaluating pulmonary artery pressure and selecting patients efficiency of PDA occlusion.

OBJECTIVE:To observe therapeutic efficacy of Xinyi biyan pills combined with budilaide in the treatment of aller-gic rhinitis and its effects on related inflammatory factors. METHODS:A total od 120 patients with allergic rhinitis were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 60 cases in each group. Control group was treated with Budesonide nasal spray,spraying once each nostril(64 μg/spray),2 times a day. Observation group was additionally treated with Xinyi biyan pills 3 g,3 times a day. Treatment course lasted for 4 weeks. Clinical efficacies of 2 groups were observed and compared. The changes of total score of clinical symptoms and signs were observed before and after treatment. The contents of IgE and LTE4 were deter-mined,and the occurrence of ADR was recorded. RESULTS:Three patients of observation group and 4 patients of control group fell of the study. Total response rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group,with statistical signifi-cance (84.21% vs. 73.21%,P<0.05). Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in total score of clinical symptoms and signs,IgE and LTE4 levels between 2 groups (P>0.05). After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment,total score of clinical symptoms and signs,IgE and LTE4 levels in 2 groups were significantly lower than before treatment,and the observation group was signifi-cantly lower than control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). No obvious ADR was found in 2 groups. CONCLU-SIONS:Xinyi biyan pills combined with budesonide show good therapeutic efficacy for allergic rhinitis,improve clinical symp-toms and signs significantly and reduce inflammatory factors levels with good safety.

Objective To explore the adverse effects of formaldehyde(FA)on learning and memory ability of mice and the antagonistic effect of N-acetyl-cysteine(NAC),an antioxidant.Methods Thirty-four ICR mice were randomly divided into four groups,the control(NS,n=8),treated with FA(15 mg/kg,n=9),treated with NAC(100 mg/kg,n=8),treated with FA(15 mg/kg) plus NAC(100 mg/kg,n=9),the treatment was conducted by intraperitoneal injection once a day for seven consecutive days.On the eighth day,the learning and memory ability were tested by using water labyrinth task for seven consecutive days.Results The mice in FA group behaved excited,restless and then turned to repose,moveless and clustering,but this phenomena was not seen in the other groups.There was no significant difference in the body weight of mice among groups.As for learning,latent period in the FA group [(27.15?2.66)s] was significantly longer than that in the control group [(15.83?2.82)s] and the FA+ NAC group[(14.98?2.66)s],and revealed statistical significance(P

Objective] To investigate the protective effect and potential mechanism of Astragalus injection on mucosa epithelial cells in rats with sepsis . [Methods] Thirty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham,model and Astragalus injection treatment groups with 10 rats in each group.Rat sepsis model was constructed by cecal ligation and puncture.Rats in the Astragalus injection treatment group received 800 mg·kg-1 of Astragalus injection at 15 minutes before and 6 hours after operation. Intestinal mucosa were harvested and frozen at -80℃ on post-operation 24 hours. Intestinal mucosa epithelial cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL,while Bcl-2 and Bax levels were determined by real-time quantitative PCR(qPCR) and Western blot technique.[Results] The apoptosis indexes were 5.2±0.3,22.3±1.2 and 11.2±0.9 of sham,model and Astragalus injection treatment group,respectively. Apoptosis index in model group was significantly higher than that in sham group( P<0.05),while the apoptosis of mucosa epithelial cells was significantly attenuated after Astragalus injection treatment(P<0.05).In model group,the expression of Bcl-2 was lower than that of sham group,whereas the expression of Bax was higher than that in sham group(P<0.05).Astragalus injection treatment significantly lowered Bax level while elevated Bcl-2 expression, compared with model group(P<0.05). [Conclusion] Astragalus injection could suppress sepsis-induced apoptosis of mucosa epithelial cells via up-regulating Bcl-2 and down-regulating Bax.

Peripheral arterial disease(PAD)is a common manifestation of systemic atherosclerosis associated with significant morbidity and mortality.The goals of management for patients with PAD are to relieve exertional symptoms,improve walking capacity,improve quality of life,and prevent and retard the progression of systemic atherosclerosis.These patients should be candidates for aggressive secondary prevention strategies including tobacco cessation,physical activity,dietary modification,weight maintenance,blood pressure control,cholesterol control,antiplatelet therapy and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor therapy.This article reviews the current non-intervention treatment of patients with PAD.

Objective To discuss the prevention and treatment for complications following laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Methods A total of 902 cases were summarized retrospectively with regard to causes, prevention and treatment of complications following LC. Results Out of the 902 cases, there were 2 cases of bile duct injury, 2 cases of residual calculi of common bile duct, and 4 cases of scrotum emphysema. The bile duct injury and residual calculi were all cured by re-operation, while the scrotum emphysema dissolved of itself without medical treatment. A conversion to open surgery was required in 31 cases. All the cases in the study were cured. Conclusions Emphasis should be laid on the prevention of complications after LC. A prompt conversion to open cholecystectomy is the key to the lowering of complication rate.
