This article was aimed to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture and flunarizine for migraine treatment. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in migraine treatment by acupuncture andflunarizine were searched in the Pubmed, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, and W anfang database. The quality of inclusion criteria were assessedaccording to the CochraneCollaboration's recommended methodand the effective data was extracted. Then, the RevMan5.2 software was used in thesummary and analysis of the effective literatures. The results showed thatthe total sample size was893 cases, with 10 studies according to the inclusion criteria. Meta-analysis showed that the short-term efficacy of the treatment group was higher than the control group [RR = 1.27, 95%CI (1.11, 1.45), P<0.000 4];the long-term efficacy of the treatment group was higher than the control group [RR = 1.76, 95%CI (1.05, 2.94), P=0.03]; headache degree of improvement was better than thecontrol group [MD = -2.00, 95%CI (-3.01, -0.99), P=0.000 1]. It was concluded that acupuncture was more effective than flunarizinein migraine treatment. However, the whole study sample size was relatively small, thequality assessment was not high, and the funnel plot analysis was left-right asymmetry, which indicated the presence of publication bias. It was concluded that more high-quality clinical cases should be confirmed in the future.

Objective To evaluate the protective effects of oral administration of D-methionine tablets on noise-induced hearing loss.Methods A total of 203 volunteers were recruited and randomly divided into two groups:experimental group (n=113)and control group (n=90).The subjects in the experimental group received oral administration of D-methionine tablets(1 500 mg/day)and those in the control group received placebo for 3 days before impulse noise exposure.The routine audiometric evaluation and ABR testing were performed and recor-ded 1 day and 7 days post- noise exposure.The statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS 11.0.ResuIts The changes of hearing in all participators were observed after noise exposure.The results were as follow:The hearing thresh-olds at three time points were 40.5±9.3,51.7±12.3,44.1±11.4 dB nHL in experimental group and 41.5±8.9,62.4± 13.7,47.6±12.5 dB nHL in control group,respectlvely;the ABR I-V IPLs at three time points were 3.72±0.21 ms, 3.99±0.36 ms,3.82±0.25 ms in experimental group,while 3.71±0.22 ms,4.45±0.37 ms,3.85±0.34 ms in control group,respectively.There were statistically significant differences between the two groups.ConcIusion The oral adminis-tration of D-methionine tablets pre noise exposure can protect against noise-induced hearing loss.

Objective To investigate the high resolution CT (HRCT) findings of pleura invasion of lung adenocarcinoma (stageⅠ) presenting as mixture ground glass nodule (mGGN).Methods 20 cases of lung adenocarcinoma presenting as mGGN were confirmed by pathology.The correlation of those cases with pleural adjacent relation and the relation between the maximum diameter and pleural invasion were analyzed retrospectively.Results (1)The classification of mGGN adjacent to the pleura relationship:type Ⅰ,typical and atypical pleural retraction sign,10 cases of this type did not show pleural invasion;type Ⅱa,the mGGN contacted pleural for ground glass opacity,4 cases of this type showed no pleural invasion;type Ⅱb,the mGGN contacted pleural for solid elements,6 cases of this type were with pleural invasion.(2)The difference of the maximum diameter of mGGN in groups pleural invasion and non-invasion was not significant statistically (P=0.694).Conclusion The mGGN contacted pleural for solid composition is a reliable sign in diagnosis of pleural invasion.

AIM: To study the effects of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI) on elastase after balloon injury. METHODS: The carotid arteries and aortas twelve-weeks-old Wistar male rats were injured by balloon catheter. The rats were divided into experimental and control groups in which ACEI (temocapril-HCl,10 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ) and the vehicle were administered 2 days before injury respectively and the animals were sacrificed on day 2, 3, 5 and 10, respectively. Objective: This study intended to explore the relationships of the polymorphism of phase II drug-metabolizing enzyme, microsomal epoxide hydrolase 1 (EPHX 1) with the habits of smoking and alcohol drinking, and their interactions on risk of deve-loping primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: The genotypes at codon 113 of exon 3 of gene EPHX 1 were analyzed in 105 patients with HCC and 151 healthy controls in Guangxi Province by using polymerase chain reaction followed by restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). The habits of smoking and alcohol drinking of all the subjects were investigated. Results: The frequencies of Tyr/Tyr, Tyr/His and His/His genotypes at codon 113 of exon 3 of gene EPHX 1 were 27.62%, 21.90%, and 50.48% for HCC patients and 21.19%, 34.44%, and 44.37% for healthy controls, respectively. There was no significant difference (P > 0.05). Smoking increased the risk of developing HCC for patients with His/His genotype. The OR value was 2.99 (95% CI: 1. 29-6.91). For the HBV-positive patients, polymorphism of EPHX 1 and the habits of smoking and alcohol drinking had synergistic effects on the development of HCC. Conclusion: The interaction between the environmental factors such as smoking and alcohol drinking and polymorphism of EPHX 1 gene may increase the risk of developing HCC.

AlM: To observe the treatment efficacy of eyelid herpeszoster with external use ganciclovir ophthalmic gel.METHODS:A total of 77 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. ln the treatment group, ganciclovir ophthalmic gel was topical coated on the basis of antiviral drugs, while the control group was coated with conventional acyclovir ointment and antiviral treatment.
RESULTS: The cure rate was 95% in the treatment group, and the control group was 83% after 10d treatment. The difference was significant.
CONCLUSlON: The efficacy of ganciclovir ophthalmic gel treated eyelid herpes zoster is obvious.
