Chinese Journal of Urology 2017;38(2):118-121
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and choices of management of neonatal testicular torsion (NTF).Methods Between January 2013 and December 2015,the clinical data of 7 cases of neonatal testicular torsion who were confirmed by surgery and pathological examination in the department of pediatric surgery of our hospital was retrospectively reviewed.Of the 7 NTTs (4 in right,2 in left and 1 in both sides),the median age and onset time of NNTs was 3 d (1-21 d) and 1 d (1-21 d),respectively. The presentation of NTTs included swelling of scrotum, scrotal mass and discoloration of scrotum.Features of ultrasonography included enlargement of testicular volume, echo heterogenicity or enhancement of testis, and decreased or disappeared testicular blood flow. Results All NTTs were performed by surgery and confirmed by pathological examination. In the operation,5 patients with extravaginal torsion (1 bilateral) and 2 with intravaginal torsion were detected. The degree of twisted testis was from 270° to 720°(average 438.8°) and resection rate for necrosis testis was 87.5% (7/8).The median time of follow-up was 12 months (3-36 months),and none of testis underwent re-torsion and the findings of testicular ultrasonography was not abnormal. Conclusions The presentation of neonatal testicular torsion is non-specific.Once the scrotum shows discoloration, swelling,or enlargement of testis, testicular torsion is suspected.Urgent surgical exploration is recommended in order to make an effort to save the testis.

AIM:To establish a HPLC method for determinaton of sodium ferulate (SF) in Beagle dog plasma and to study the pharmacokinetics of SF tablets. METHODS: Sodium ferulate in plasma was extracted with ether, separated on a Kromasil C_ 18 column (150 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) and the peak height ratio of sodium ferulate to the internal standard tinidazole was measured.Plasma concentration of SF was determined using acetonitrile-water-acetic acid(20∶79.2∶0.8) as the mobile phase and the flow rate was 0.8 ml/min.SF was detected at 320 nm. RESULTS: SF and the internal standard were separated completely under the condition described above.SF was linear in the range of 0.02~50 ?g/ml(r=0.9995).The accuracy, precision and sensitivity were eligible for analyse of bio-pharmic samples. CONCLUSION:A sensitive and accurate HPLC method for the quantitative determination of SF in the plasma of Beagle dog is developed and it is applicable to the determination in plasma and pharmacokinetic study of SF.

Persister cells are dormant or slowly grown variations in microbial populations .They are highly tolerant to antibiot-ics but the tolerance are not inherited as the genetic resistance , when persisters are inoculated to fresh medium , most bacteria are still susceptive to antibiotic , while only a small fractiont become persisters again .Persisters are believed to be closely related to clinic bio-film forming and the recurrence and recalcitrance of chronic infections .Different persisters have been found in Escherichia coli , Pseud-omonas aeruginosa , Staphyococcus aureus , Mycobacterium tuberculosis , Candida albicans and so on , and a few mechanisms about per-sisters formation have been studied .This article reviews the current progresses of research methods and achievements on persisters from different levels .

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the effects of Oxytocin(OT) on hippocampal long-term potentiation(LTP) and FOS protein expression induced by peripheral stimulation. Methods Single stimulation pulses were delivered to the left sciatic nerves to evoke the field excitatory postsynaptic potentials (fEPSPs) in the right hippocampal CA1. Tetanic stimulation was used to induce hippocampal LTP. Different groups of rat were given NS,OT,Oxytocin antagonist-Atosiban + OT before tetanic stimulation, into lateral ventricle(LV) respectively. Expression of FOS protein was compared among the groups by histopathological and immunohistochemistry. Results Single stimulation evoked fEPSPs in hippocampal CA1,which average latency was (171.9?33.1)ms and average amplitude was (25.7?8.4)?V. Tetanic stimulation induced hippocampal LTP and increased the expression of FOS protein. Intracerebroventricular injection of OT inhibited hippocampal LTP and decreased the expression of FOS protein. This effect of OT was blocked by the pretreatment with Atosiban. Conclusion The results suggested that OT may play an inhibitory role in leaning and memory of rats and the effect is mediated by OT receptor.

Objective To investigate the apoptosis in gastric cancer induced by trichosanthin, and the relationship between this apoptosis and expression of bcl2. Methods In in vitro experiments, morphologic test and TUNEL staining method were used to quantitatively and qualitively detect the apoptosis status of gastric adenocarcinoma cell line SGC7901 before and after the trichosanthin treatment. Immunohistochemical staining method and Northern Blot hybridization were used for detecting expression status of apoptosisrelated genes bcl2, before and after trichosanthin treatment. Results When SGC7901 cells were treated with trichosanthin (0.1 ?g/ml, 36 h), they presented some typical apoptotic morphologic changes observed by fluorescent staining. These morphologic changes include nuclear condensation, nucleosomal fragments forming a lunate body under nuclear membrane, etc. When SGC7901 cells were treated with trichosanthin at the concentration 0.1 ?g/ml for 36 h,42 h and 48 h, respectively, TUNEL staining showed a significant increase of apoptotic index (AI), from 3.78%?1.11%, 3.98%?1.12%,3.85%?1.08%, respectively, to 11.30% ? 2.33%, 10.22% ?2.00%,11.18%?1.85%(P

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2006;0(04):-
Objective To search for the optimal processing procedure and physico-chemical properties of Endothelium corneum amylase. Methods After dried under 50 ℃ ,amylase was extracted from Endothelium corneum with phosphate-buffered saline. The amylase activity was examined at different temperature,pH and different metal ions, and amylase isozyme was discerned on PAGE. Results The optimal pH,optimal temperature, and optimal substrate concentration for amylase activity were 8.67,50 ℃ and 1.8 g/mL,respectively. Under the experimental conditions, the amylase Km was 0.92 (starch was used as substrate of amylase). Four metal ions tested, including Ca2+,Fe2+,Zn2+,Mn2+,could inhibit the amylase activity to some extent. Furthermore,it showed one amylase isozyme band using PAGE,suggesting only one amylase isozyme existing in the Endothelium corneum tentatively. Conclusion The effects of metal ions should be considered in the process of Endothelium corneum amylase.
