Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of stereotactic conformal radiotherapy (SCRT) on 30 cases of thalamic and brainstem tumors. Methods During the period from October 1997 to April 2002, 30 patients, 19 male and 11 female, with an age range from 13 to 68 years (an average of 37 years) suffering from thalamic and brainstem tumors, were treated in our institute. The size of the tumors ranged from 3.5 cm 3 to 73.0 cm 3 with an average of 16.5 cm 3. Eight cases were treated with SCRT after regular radiotherapy, 7 cases were treated with SCRT after surgical resection of the tumor and 15 cases were treated with SCRT only. Results The clinical symptoms of all the patients disappeared thoroughly. Their KPS was significantly improved (P

Objective:To compare the dosimetric differences of the planning target volume(PTV)and the organs at risk(OAR)for postoperative patients with cervical cancer on intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)and conventional 4 fields(4F)or 2 fields(2F)radiotherapy.Methods:Six postoperative patients with cervical cancer were chosen randomly. The next steps were CT scan,PTV and OAR contouring. The treatment protocols were designed into conventional 4F,2F and IMRT by TPS.Finally, the doso distribution and DVH were compared. Results:About the conformability of PTV,IMRT showed a significantly superior dose distribution over conventional 4F(P=0.015),and conventional 4F was superior to 2F(P=0.043).IMRT as compared with conventional 4F or 2F protocols, the received dose of the 50%volume of bladder was reduced by 25.8%and 27.5%,the rectum was reduced by 12%and 14.3%,the small intestine was reduced by 36.5%and 50%.But the differences of the femoral head(left & right)and the ilium have no statistical significance. Conclusion:in postoperative radiotherapy for cervical cancer,IMRT have Inore dosimetric advantages than conventional radiotherapy.

Objective To use Q value method to assess the effect of combination therapy with vitamin E and vitamin C for idiopathic asthenospermia. Methods 76 patients diagnosed as idiopathic asthenospermia by computer-assisted semen analysis according to the WHO criteria were selected at the andrology clinic from August 2012 to November 2013. Malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration was measured by using thiobarbituric acid (TBA) assay. The patients were randomly divided into three groups. Vit C group received vitamin C 200 mg thrice daily, vit E group received vitamin E 100 mg thrice daily , and the combination group received vitamins E and C for 12 weeks. Repeat semen analysis and MDA measurement were conducted after treatment, and the Q value which evaluated whether a synergistic interaction existed was calculated. Results MDA concentration decreased in all the groups, with the lowest concentration in the combination group. While all the groups achieved improvement in term of progressive motility , with the combination group presented far more better than the other two groups , exhibiting a synergistic interaction, with a Q value of 1.18. Conclusion Combination therapy with vitamin E and vitamin C has a marked internal synergistic effect on antioxidation in the treatment of idiopathic asthenospermia.

Objective To analyze the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 5 patients with importing yellow fever ,and to explore the preventive and control strategies of infection in hospital .Methods The epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 5 cases of importing yellow fever in Infectious Disease Hospital of Fujian Medical University from March 18th to April 6th in 2016 were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed .Results Five patients were all from Angola Luanda .One of them was vaccinated before going aboard ,and the others were vaccinated 1—10 days before disease onset in Angola .All of them were bitten by mosquitoes ,and their onset date ranged from March 11th to March 27th ,before returned to Fujian .The main clinical symptoms were fever ,chilly ,shivering ,fatigue ,arthrodynia ,headache ,and liver and kidney injury .At manifestations ,two patients had positive nuclear acid of yellow fever virus in serum samples and 3 patients were positive in urine samples .All of these patients were negative for dengue virus and Zika virus testing ,meanwhile no plasmodium was found in blood smears .All patients were cured and discharged . Conclusions There is risk of yellow fever transmission in Fujian Province . Prevention and control of the disease should be focus on improving the ability of finding and coping with the importing cases .Vaccination and hygiene knowledge propagation should be given for those who are going to epidemic country/area .Emergency monitoring and control of mosquitoes are necessary .
