Objective To investigate the measurement standards and clinical application of observing anatomical morphologies and contractile function of puborectalis muscle on pelvic floor parasagittal plane by endoluminal two-dimensional ultrasonography. Methods The thickness and thickening rate of puborectalis muscle of 78 young nulliparous women were measured on pelvic floor parasagittal plane at three levelsurethral level (anterior),vaginal level (central) and rectal level (posterior),both at rest and during contraction. And the thickening rates of these parts during contraction were compared with each other.Interclass correlation coefficients were calculated to evaluate the consistency of the datas. Results At rest, thickness of anterior part of the left was (9.23 ± 0.20)mm,and that of the right was (8.99 ± 0.20)mm.During contraction, thickness of anterior parts of bilateral puborectalis muscle were significantly thicker than that of central or posterior parts (P <0.05).The interclass coefficients were more than 0.93 and 0.83.Conclusions The endoluminal two-dimensional ultrasonography can be used to observe morphologies and contractile function dynamically of puborectalis on pelvic floor parasagittal plane. It is simple, reproducible and worthy of clinical promotion.

Objective To investigate the changes of the immunological factors in subcutaneous exudate and blood components of the rats receiving cutaneous scraping method, and to compare the changes of skin histopathological features before and after cutaneous scraping under microscope. Methods SD rats were randomly divided into two groups,cutaneous-scraping group and non-cutaneous-scraping group. And then each group was divided into three subgroups. The observation indexes included the levels of interleukin (IL)-1β,IL-6 and interferon gamma (IFN-γ) in the blood and the skin, routine blood examination, and skin histopathological features. Results In cutaneous-scraping group, the number of white blood cells in the blood and the levels of IL-1 β and IFN-γ in skin tissues were increased (P < 0.05),the hemolysis rate was increased (P < 0.05).However,the levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and IFN-γin the blood showed no obvious changes.Under the microscope, severe skin edema, vascular congestion and dilatation, and infiltration of inflammatory cells were found in the skin after cutaneous scraping. Conclusion The cutaneous scraping method can activate the immune response rapidly, and the immunological components of the subcutaneous exudate after cutaneous scraping are helpful to the disease treatment.

Objective To investigate effects of Danhong on the serum levels of CD137, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and homocysteine (Hcy) in patients with non-ST elevation acute myocardial infarction complicating metabolic syndrome. Methods A total of 126 patients with non-ST elevation acute myocardial infarction complicating metabolic syndrome were enrolled and randomly divided into a conventional treatment group and a Danhong treatment group using a random-digit table, with 63 patients in each group. All patients underwent angiography or percutaneous coronary intervention. The patients in the Danhong treatment group treated with intravenous Danhong 20 ml on the basis of conventional treatment for 1 week. The serum levels of CD137, hs-CRP and Hcy were measured at hospital admission and 10 days after treatment. The severity of coronary artery disease was assessed by the Gensini-score. Results The levels of CD137, hs-CRP and Hcy in both groups after treatment were significantly lower than before treatment (conventional treatment group: t 12.393, 17.408 and 9.458; Danhong treatment group: t 16.110, 17.573 and 13.481; all P<0.01), and the Danhong treatment group were significantly decreased than the conventional treatment group (t 2.815, 3.224 and 3.157, all P<0.01). The serum levels of CD137 and hs-CRP before treatment were significantly correlated with Gensini scores in 126 patients (r 0.720 and 0.562,all P<0.01). Conclusions The serum levels of CD137 and hs-CRP are significantly correlated with the severity of coronary artery disease, intravenous Danhong may has protective effect for coronary artery disease via decreasing CD137 and hs-CRP.

OBJECTIVE:
To assess the value of BACs-on-Beads (BoBs) technique for the detection of chromosomal abnormalities in abortus tissues from recurrent pregnancy loss.
METHODS:
A total of 109 abortus samples were collected and analyzed with the BoBs technique. The incidence and types of chromosomal abnormalities for different age groups and gestational weeks were compared.
RESULTS:
The BoBs assay has succeeded in all cases, with an incidence for chromosomal abnormalities reaching 62.39% (68/109). The major findings included trisomy 16 (12/68), trisomy 22 (9/68), trisomy 13 (9/68) and trisomy 21 (8/68). The abnormal rate was significantly higher in those above 35-year-old compared with that of the <35-year-old group (P<0.05). More aberrations were found among abortus tissues derived from 42-70 days of pregnancy albeit with no statistical significance (P>0.05). The aberration rates were similar for samples derived from second, third and fourth time abortions (P>0.05).
CONCLUSION
BoBs technique can detect chromosomal aberrations in miscarriages and may be routinely used for the analysis of early spontaneous abortions.

Shengmai Yin (SMY) is a Chinese herbal decoction that effectively alleviates the side effects of radio-therapy in various cancers and helps achieve radiotherapy's clinical efficacy. In this study,we explored the interaction mechanism among SMY,DNA methylation, and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).We identified differences in DNA methylation levels in NPC CNE-2 cells and its radioresistant cells (CNE-2R)using the methylated DNA immunoprecipitation array and found that CNE-2R cells showed genome-wide changes in methylation status towards a state of hypomethylation.SMY may restore its original DNA methylation status, and thus, enhance radiosensitivity.Furthermore,we confirmed that the dif-ferential gene Tenascin-C (TNC) was overexpressed in CNE-2R cells and that SMY downregulated TNC expression. This downregulation of TNC inhibited NPC cell radiation resistance, migration, and invasion.Furthermore,we found that TNC was hypomethylated in CNE-2R cells and partially restored to a hypermethylated state after SMY intervention.DNA methyltransferases 3a may be the key protein in DNA methylation of TNC.

Screening and evaluating the diseases responding specifically to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) will help to highlight the advantages of TCM treatment, and the evaluation method should be standardized with consideration to the unique characteristics of the diseases. The incidence of Sjögren's Syndrome (SS) is increasing year by year, while the pathogenesis of this disease remains unclear. Modern therapies for this disease include biological agents and immunosuppressants, which generally have unsatisfactory efficacy. The TCM treatment of SS focuses on the harmony of the physical and mental health. The Rheumatology Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine organizes experts in TCM, Western medicine, and evidence-based medicine to form working groups. Delphi method and bibliometric method were used for analysis, and SS was selected as a disease responding specifically to TCM. Furthermore, the evaluation system was established for this disease, and the consensus regarding this disease was reached after seminar discussion. This paper summarized the whole process of the evaluation of the advantages of TCM treatment of SS. First, because TCM atomization is widely used in clinical practice and enriches TCM administration methods, this therapy is included after other non-drug therapies were taken as characteristic therapies. Second, the evaluation indicators of therapeutic effect should be determined with consideration to international acceptance and the current research status. Third, the expression method should be accurate, standardized, and objective, highlight the natural advantages of TCM, and avoid arbitrary extension. This paper provides a reference for clinicians to explore other diseases responding specifically to TCM.
