OBJECTIVETo establish multiple seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average model(ARIMA) according to mumps disease incidence in Hunan province, and to predict the mumps incidence from May 2015 to April 2016 in Hunan province by the model.
METHODSThe data were downloaded from "Disease Surveillance Information Reporting Management System" in China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention. The monthly incidence of mumps in Hunan province was collected from January 2004 to April 2015 according to the onset date, including clinical diagnosis and laboratory confirmed cases. The predictive analysis method was the ARIMA model in SPSS 18.0 software, the ARIMA model was established on the monthly incidence of mumps from January 2004 to April 2014, and the date from May 2014 to April 2015 was used as the testing sample, Box-Ljung Q test was used to test the residual of the selected model. Finally, the monthly incidence of mumps from May 2015 to April 2016 was predicted by the model.
RESULTSThe peak months of the mumps incidence were May to July every year, and the secondary peak months were November to January of the following year, during January 2004 to April 2014 in Hunan province. After the data sequence was handled by smooth sequence, model identification, establishment and diagnosis, the ARIMA(2,1,1) × (0,1,1)(12) was established, Box-Ljung Q test found, Q=8.40, P=0.868, the residual sequence was white noise, the established model to the data information extraction was complete, the model was reasonable. The R(2) value of the model fitting degree was 0.871, and the value of BIC was -1.646, while the average absolute error of the predicted value and the actual value was 0.025/100 000, the average relative error was 13.004%. The relative error of the model for the prediction of the mumps incidence in Hunan province was small, and the predicting results were reliable. Using the ARIMA(2,1,1) ×(0,1,1)(12) model to predict the mumps incidence from April 2016 to May 2015 in Hunan province, the peak months of the mumps incidence were May to July, and the secondary peak months were November to January of the following year, the incidence of the peak month was close to the same period.
CONCLUSIONThe ARIMA(2,1,1)×(0,1,1)(12) model is well fitted the trend of the mumps disease incidence in Hunan province, it has some practical value for the prevention and control of the disease.

Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2002;37(2):142-144
OBJECTIVETo establish the differential templates of the skeletal profiles for Shanghainese with normal occlusion in early permanent dentition.
METHODS71 lateral cephalometric radiographs of subjects with normal occlusion in early permanent dentition, aged from 11 - 15 years (37 females and 34 males) were traced. 23 skeletal landmarks were identified on the tracings, which afterwards were scanned on the computer. An x-y coordinate system was established: the tracing superimposed on sella rotated 7 degrees down from the sella-nasion line as the x axis and the vertical line through sella perpendicular to the x axis as the y axis. A special length/depth ratio was designed. The length/depth ratio of each graph were calculated. Steiner analysis was applied to check the difference between genders.
RESULTSThere was no difference between genders. The tracings were divided into three categories: short face, normal face and long face according to the mean and standard deviation of the ratio. The three types of tracings were superimposed on the x axis with sella registered. Three templates were created.
CONCLUSIONSThe differences were apparent when the three templates were superimposed.

OBJECTIVE:
To study the correlation of CD44 with epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) and metastasis in nasopharyngeal cancer cells, and explore the possible mechanism of CD44 regulates EMT and metastasis in nasopharyngeal cancer cells.
METHOD:
The CD44 and EMT-associated proteins in 5-8F and 6-10B nasopharyngeal cancer cell lines were assayed by Western blotting. The erasion trace test was performed to observe the migratory ability of 5-8F and 6-10B nasopharyngeal cancer cells. Using lipid-mediated DNA transfection technique, the low metastatic nasopharyngeal cancer cells 6-10B were transfected in vitro with plasmid which contained CD44 gene, and then new nasopharyngeal cancer cells were obtained. The CD44 and EMT-associated proteins in 6-10B, empty vector transfected and CD44-transfected cells were assayed by Western blotting. The erasion trace test was performed to observe the alteration of migratory ability of nasopharyngeal cancer cells before and after CD44 transfection.
RESULT:
The expression of CD44 and EMT-associated protein MMP-9 in 5-8F was higher than that in 6-10B, but EMT-associated protein E-Cadherin in 5-8F was lower than that in 6-10B. The migratory ability of 5-8F was higher than that of 6-10B. The expression of CD44 and MMP-9 were significantly higher in the CD44-transfected nasopharyngeal cancer cells than in the control groups. Compared with control groups, the migratory ability of CD44-transfected nasopharyngeal cancer cells was significantly increased.
CONCLUSION
CD44 positively regulates the metastatic ability of nasopharyngeal cancer cells, which is relevant to the process of EMT.

The structure of N-glycans on specific proteins can regulate innate and adaptive immunity via sensing environmental signals. Meanwhile, the structural diversity of N-glycans poses analytical challenges that limit the exploration of specific glycosylation functions. In this work, we used THP-1-derived macrophages as examples to show the vast potential of a N-glycan structural interpretation tool StrucGP in N-glycoproteomic analysis. The intact glycopeptides of macrophages were enriched and analyzed using mass spectrometry (MS)-based glycoproteomic approaches, followed by the large-scale mapping of site-specific glycan structures via StrucGP. Results revealed that bisected GlcNAc, core fucosylated, and sialylated glycans (e.g., HexNAc4Hex5Fuc1Neu5Ac1, N4H5F1S1) were increased in M1 and M2 macrophages, especially in the latter. The findings indicated that these structures may be closely related to macrophage polarization. In addition, a high level of glycosylated PD-L1 was observed in M1 macrophages, and the LacNAc moiety was detected at Asn-192 and Asn-200 of PD-L1, and Asn-200 contained Lewis epitopes. The precision structural interpretation of site-specific glycans and subsequent intervention of target glycoproteins and related glycosyltransferases are of great value for the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for different diseases.
