Objective To observe the effects of olfactory lamina propria (OLP) transplantation and ganglioside GM1 treatment on spinal cord injury (SCI) in rats. Methods Totally 50 healthy pure breed female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats after spinal cord hemiseetion were randomly divided into 5 groups and were given different treatments: (OLP + GM1) treatment group (group A), GM1 treatment group (group B), OLP treatment group (group C), spinal cord injury but without treatment group (group D) and healthy control group (group E). The recovery of neurological function was evaluated by somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) and pathological examination after surgery. Results In group A, in some rats an escaping response in right hind leg occurred, but in other groups, the motor function was not significantly improved. Histological examination showed that transplanted olfactory lamina propria survived in the transplantation area and expanded on certain routes. NF positive nerve fibers passed through the transplantation area. Compared with group B, C, D, the N1-wave latency was(4.71±0. 72)ms 4 weeks after operation(P<0. 01), and the NF density was(7. 31±0. 26) ×104/mm28 weeks after operation in group A(P<0. 05). Conclusions Olfactory lamina propria (OLP) transplantation and ganglioside GM1 treatment have a synergistic effect on SCI.

Objective To compare the efficacy of percutaneous compression plate (PCCP) and dynamic hip screw (DHS) on intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients. Methods A literature search was performed in the Cochrane Li-brary, Mdiline, EMbase, CNKI, Wanfang database and other databases. The controlled clinical trials were retrieved, which in-cluded PCCP and DHS treatment for intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients. A meta-analysis was performed to ana-lyze the efficacy of PCCP and DHS on this kind of fractures in elderly patients. Results In 231 citations initially identified, 11 eligible papers were included in this study, which consisted of a total of 1 100 patients. Results showed that there were shorter operative time (WMD=-12.83,Z=2.54,P=0.01), smaller incision(WMD=-7.43,Z=3.35,P<0.001), low blood loss during surgery(WMD =-211.41,Z=9.07,P< 0.001) and better prognosis in PCCP group than those of DHS group. There was no significant difference in the length of postoperative hospital stay between PCCP and DHS group(WMD=-1.28, Z=0.89, P=0.37). Conclusion The current analysis suggests that the PCCP is better for intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of infrared thermal therapy against pseudomonas ae-ruginosa infection on deep partial-thickness burn wound. Methods Forty-three patients in our hospital with main-ly deep partial-thickness burn wound from January 2015 to October 2016 were randomly enrolled to the treatment group(TG,treated with sulfadiazine silver + infrared thermal therapy)and the control group(CG,treated with sulfadiazine silver only). Scores of wound exudation, positive rate of pseudomonas aeruginosa on wound, wound healing rate, wound healing time and overall evaluation of wound healing on the day of 0,3,7,14,21,28 after treatment were conventionally recorded. Adverse effects in TG and CG were also observed. Results (1)Age,sex and burn surface area of patients were found no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). (2)On the day of 3,7 and 14,wound exudation score of TG was significantly lower than that of CG(P<0.05);On the day of0,21 and 28,wound exudation score of the two groups were almost same.(3)Positive rate of pseudomonas aeruginosa between the two groups on the day of 7,14 and 21,TG was significantly lower than CG(P < 0.05). (4)Wound healing rate of TG on the day of 7,14 and 21 was higher than CG,which was statistically significant difference in the 2 groups(P<0.05);Wound healing time of TG patients[(21.1 ± 6.5)day]was significantly shorter than that of CG patients[(26.2 ± 6.5)day](P<0.05).(5)Overall evaluation of wound healing of TG was better than that of CG on the day 14 and 21(P<0.05). Conclusions Infrared thermal therapy could reduce the secretion of deep partial-thickness burn wound and effectively control pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. Furthermore, infrared thermal therapy finally improved wound healing rate and shortenedwound healing time of burn wound.

Objective To investigate the species and hosts of Paragonimus and its infection rate in eastern part of Zhenghe County,Fujian Province,so as to determine the local foci of Paragonimus. Methods The snails, crabs and stools of wild cats were collected for the examinations of cercariae, metacercariae and eggs of Paragonimus. The geographical and environmental conditions of the areas were also investigated. Results A total of 4 890 Pseudobythinella jianouensis snails and 1 035 Semisul?cospira liberlina snails were examined, and the cercariae of Paragonimus were only found in P. jianouensis, with an infection rate of 0.10%(5/4 890). Bottapotamon zhengheensis sp. nov. as the second intermediate host of P. skrjabini, were examined, and the infection rate was 85.29%(29/34)and the average numbers of metacercariae per crab and per gram of crab tissues were 3.85 and 0.62,respectively. Thirty?six Sinopotamun fujianensis crabs,as the second intermediate host of P. westermani, were examined, and the infection rate was 38.89%(14/36)and the average numbers of metacercariae per crab and per gram of crab tissues were 6.43 and 0.03,respectively. The eggs of Paragonimus were detected in 1 of 2 muck specimens of wild cats. Conclu?sion The data suggest that there is a focus of middle?to?high level of infection caused by P. westermani and P. skrjabini in the eastern part of Zhenghe County.
