Secretion of the salivary glands of leeches contains more than 100 bioactive substances,in recent years it has become the focus of many researchers'attention, which was the most extensive and in-depth study of the salivary glands of leeches anticoagulant and inhibit the biological activity of platelet aggregation substance, and some species have been successfully applied to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.in addition, a growing number of studies have found that leech salivary gland secretion also has antibacterial, antitumor, analgesic, vasodilator, anti-inflammatory, wound healing and other biological functions. Thus, leech salivary gland secretion with functions of biological diversity. Moreover, the leech is not just for the treatment of human diseases, but also applied to the treatment of several diseases of animals. This review expatiating the functional diversity of leech salivary secretions by consulting a large number of iterature , that the use of leech salivary gland secretion and other blood-sucking animal salivary gland secretions functions provide a useful reference.

Objective:To prepare the immunoglobulin Y(IgY) against Avain Influenza Virus (H5N1) and to investgate its inhibitory activity to Influenza virus A (FM1).Methods:Iimmunized by Avain Influenza vaccine,IgY against Avain Influenza Virus was purified from the yolk and then the antibody was enriched by the means:caprylate acid-two-step salt precipitation-gel chromatograph.TD0 of IgY and the inhibory effectiveness were showed by nhibiting cytopathic effect (CPE) thst in MDCK infected with Influenza virus A(FM1).Results:IgY against Avain Influenza Virus was obtained. The TD0 value of IgY against Avain Influenza to MDCK cell line was 1.764 mg/ml,while at the dosage as low as 0.082 8 mg/ml the lnfluenza virus A(FM1) was still inhibited in vitro.Connchusion:Caprylate acid-two-step salt precipitation-gel chromatograph can prepare IgY successfully and the inhibitory effectiveness of IgY is good for inhibition of Influenza virus A(FM1).

Arboviruses represent a serious problem to public health and agriculture worldwide.Fast, accurate identification of the viral agents of arbovirus-associated disease is essential for epidemiological surveillance and laboratory investigation. We developed a cost-effective,rapid,and highly sensitive one-step triplex RT-PCR enzyme hybridizationassay for simultaneous detections of Japanese Encephallitis virus (JEV,Flaviviridae)Getah virus (GETV,Togaviridae),and Tahyna virus (TAHV,Bunyaviridae) using three pairs of primers to amplify three target sequences in one RT-PCR reaction. The analytical sensitivity of this assay was 1 PFU/mL for JEV,10PFU/mL for GETV,and 10 PFU/mL for TAHV.This assay is significantly more rapid and less expensive than the traditional serological detection and single RT-PCR reaction methods. When “triplex RT-PCR enzyme hybridization” was applied to 29 cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)samples that were JEV-positive by normal RT-PCR assay, all samples were strongly positive for JEV,but negative for GETV and TAHV,demonstrating a good sensitivity, specificity, and performance at CSF specimen detection.

OBJECTIVE: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) for the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) has remained controversial. This meta-analysis was performed to systematically assess the efficacy and safety of NACT versus primary debulking surgery (PDS) in patients with EOC.METHODS: PubMed, Embase, ClinicalTrials.gov, and Cochrane Library were queried to assess the therapeutic value of NACT versus PDS in EOC. Electronic databases were queried by using the keywords “ovarian cancer/neoplasms”, “primary debulking surgery”, and “neoadjuvant chemotherapy”.RESULTS: The available trials were pooled, and hazard ratios (HRs), relative risk ratios (RRs) and associated 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were determined. Sixteen trials involving 57,450 participants with EOC (NACT, 9,475; PDS, 47,975) were evaluated. We found that NACT resulted in markedly decreased overall survival than PDS in patients with EOC (HR=1.30; 95% CI=1.13–1.49; heterogeneity: p<0.001, ²=82.7%). Furthermore, our results demonstrated that the NACT group displayed increased completeness of debulking removal (RR=1.69, 95% CI=1.32–2.17; heterogeneity: p<0.001, ²=81.9%), and reduced risk of postsurgical death (RR=0.18, 95% CI=0.06–0.51; heterogeneity: p=0.698, ²=0%) and major infection (RR=0.29, 95% CI=0.17–0.51; heterogeneity: p=0.777, ²=0%) compared with patients administered PDS.CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis indicated that NACT results in increased completeness of debulking removal, and reduced risk of postsurgical death and major infection compared with PDS, while PDS is associated with improved survival in comparison with NACT in EOC patients.TRIAL REGISTRATION: PROSPERO Identifier: CRD42019120625

OBJECTIVE:
Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) for the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) has remained controversial. This meta-analysis was performed to systematically assess the efficacy and safety of NACT versus primary debulking surgery (PDS) in patients with EOC.
METHODS:
PubMed, Embase, ClinicalTrials.gov, and Cochrane Library were queried to assess the therapeutic value of NACT versus PDS in EOC. Electronic databases were queried by using the keywords “ovarian cancereoplasmsâ€, “primary debulking surgeryâ€, and “neoadjuvant chemotherapyâ€.
RESULTS:
The available trials were pooled, and hazard ratios (HRs), relative risk ratios (RRs) and associated 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were determined. CONCLUSIONS
This meta-analysis indicated that NACT results in increased completeness of debulking removal, and reduced risk of postsurgical death and major infection compared with PDS, while PDS is associated with improved survival in comparison with NACT in EOC patients.TRIAL REGISTRATION: PROSPERO Identifier: CRD42019120625
