Objective To observe the preventive and therapeutic effect of Chinese herbal medicine film µwave irradiation on mammary hyperplasia in rats. Methods Rat models of experimental mammary hyperplasia were established by intramuscular injection of estrogen and a small quantity of progestin. Two weeks after modeling, the rats were treated with Chinese herbal medicine film µwave irradiation. Before and after the treatment, mammary diameter of the second nipples were measured, serum concentrations of estrogen (E2), progesterone (P) and prolactin (PRL) were determined by radioimmunoassay, pathological changes of mammary hyperplasia were examined under microscope, and the rate of mammary hyperplasia was measured. Results Chinese herbal medicine film markedly inhibited experimental mammary hyperplasia in rats, and the rate of mammary hyperplasia were 23.4 %in medicine film group and 20.9 %in medicine film µwave irradiation group respectively. Medicine film regulated the concentrations of estrogen and progestin, reduced the level of PRL and alleviated the pathological severity of mammary hyperplasia obviously. Conclusion Chinese herbal medicine film µwave irradiation have certain preventive and therapeutic effect on mammary hyperplasia in rats.

ObjectiveTo introduce the new method of full reconstruction for Ⅰ to Ⅲ-degree finger defect.MethodsFor reconstruction of Ⅰ to Ⅱ-degree finger defect, the surgery procedure was as follows:Harvest part of nail, skin and dorsal part of distal phalanx from hallux to form a composite flap, and then the flap was transplanted to the finger stump to reconstruct the defect part of the finger. The design of the composite flap was according to the recipient part. For reconstruction of Ⅲ-degree finger defect, the skin included in the flap could be designed according to the recipient part, but the bone can only be harvested from the fibulodoral part of the hallux and far from the insertion of the extensor hallucis longus tendon, which means the length was limited. If the bone length was not enough, one bone mass with appropriate size and shape was harvested from the iliac bone and connected with the bone of the composite flap. Some cases of Ⅲ-degree finger defect were reconstructed by harvesting interphalangeal joints from the second toes to reconstruct distal interphalangeal joints(DIP). The bone defect was reconstituted by bone mass from the iliac bone to conserve the contour of the second toe.The hallux wound was covered by a local flap or free flap transplantation.ResultsOne hundred and eighteen cases (126 fingers) of Ⅰ-degree defect, one hundred and eighty-seven cases (201 fingers) of Ⅱ-degree defect and 90 cases (111 fingers) of Ⅲ-degree finger defect were applied full reconstruction. All the reconstructed fingers survived completely and the configurations were similar to real fingers. Followed up our work on 150 fingers from a number of patients, between 1 and 11 years after the original surgery.Total ranges of motion of the reconstructed fingers got to over 180°.The reconstructed DIP joints had the range of motion of 15°-40°. The donor halluxes and toes were conserved with the normal length, relatively primary appearance and full function. ConclusionFull reconstruction for Ⅰ to Ⅲ-degree finger defect has great advantages in that the reconstructed finger has very realistic configuration as well as ideal function and the donor hallux is conserve well.

OBJECTIVE: A method based on dubious condition of information entropy was introduced and applied to discuss a complexity problem in the analysis of correlation between traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome and season. METHODS: Eight hundred and seventy one cases of chronic virus hepatitis B (hepatitis B) with TCM clinical data were analyzed by information entropy method. RESULTS: It was found that hepatitis B with Yin deficiency of liver and kidney happened more often in summer than in other seasons. CONCLUSION: It is inferred that the difference of seasons may influence the variation of TCM syndromes.

Objective:To investigate the risk and prognosis of orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT)for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and those without liver tumor. Methods:The risk and prognosis of 21 cases of orthotopic liver transplantation for patients with HCC were retrospectively reviewed and the comparison was made between such patients and 19 others with non tumor caused end stage failures whose OLT procedures have been done at the same period. Results:Compared with the non tumor OLT recipients, the HCC patients have a better preoperative coagulation function. In accordance with this, the blood lose, the required transfusion and the total infusion during the operation were also less than those of non tumor OLT patients. The duration of hypotension induced by bleeding in HCC patients were also shorter than that in non tumor patients. There were more patients in HCC group with uneventful postoperative course than that in non tumor group. The perioperative mortality was also lower in HCC group.Although the recurrence of malignance affected the long term survival of HCC patients, the whole survival rate was similar to that of non tumor OLT patients. Conclusion:OLT remains an effective alternative for the advanced HCC patients for whom there was no other better choice. It is possible that some patients can get a long term survival and are free of the recurrence of the HCC after OLT treatment.
