Good palatability of pediatric drugs improves the accuracy of dosing and adherence to dosing regimens. Many active pharmaceutical ingredients have an undesirable taste, so effective taste masking methods need to be developed to improve the palatability of pediatric medicines. This article mainly introduces the commonly taste masking techniques and taste evaluation methods, and puts forward suggestions on the concerns and general principles of the pharmaceutical evaluation of taste masking effects based on cases, in order to provide reference for the development of drug taste masking technology in children.

Objective:To explore the relationship among professional psychological help-seeking intention,mental symptoms,and self-efficacy in adults.Methods:Totally 618 adult samples[286 males and 332 females,304 early adulthood (18-35 years) and 314 middle adulthood (36-60 years)] were selected on the internet.They were assessed with the Intention of Seeking Counseling Inventory (ISCI),Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) and General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) to evaluate professional psychological help-seeking intention,mental symptom and self-efficacy respectively.Results:Females and middle adulthood subjects got higher ISCI scores than males and early adulthood subjects [(82.7 ± 6.7) vs.(77.8 ± 7.8),(83.9 ± 6.2) vs.(76.8 ± 7.3);Ps ＜ 0.001].Step linear regression analysis showed that age,scores of self-efficiency,horror and obsessive-compulsive symptoms had positive prediction effect on help-seeking intention (3 =0.34,0.29,0.10,0.11).Mental symptoms,hostility and paranoia had negative prediction effect on help-seeking intention (β =-0.17,-0.15,-0.11),and the 7 variables could explain 45.6％ of the variation.Conclusion:It suggests that the adults' professional psychological help-seeking intention may be related to subject age,mental symptom and self-efficiency.

Objective To study the effects of traditional Chinese medicine Panax notoginoside(PNS,血塞通) and Tetramethylpyrazine(TMPz,川芎嗪) on different subtypes of cytochrome P450(CYP450),based on that,to forecast the inter-reaction between these two drugs and between each one of them and another drug,and also to estimate the safety assessment of them.Methods The metabolic changes of caffeine and dapsone which are the specific probe drugs for subtypes of CYP450,CYP1A2 and CYP3A4,were studied in vitro to estimate the inhibition or induction effects of PNS and TMPz.Results The concentrations of caffeine and dapsone,the probe drugs in liver cytochrome P450,in control group,PNS group and TMPz group were all declined with time prolongation,and there were no significant differences among the three groups.The half life time(t1/2) of caffeine in PNS group was obviously shorter than that in control group((19.24?2.37) minutes vs.(25.15?2.02) minutes, P0.05).It was suggested that TMPz have no effect on both CYP1A2 and CYP3A4.Conclusion Different drugs have different effects on different CYP450 subtype enzymes.When PNS is used in combination with other drugs which are related to the metabolism of CYP1A2 enzyme,its induction effect on CYP1A2 should be considered fully to avoid toxic effect or the potential adverse reactions.

Objective To investigate the correlation of the anti-cardiolipin(aCL) antibodies and anti-β2 glycoprotein Ⅰ(anti-β2GPI) antibodies in missed abortion women.Methods Fourteen patients diagnosed missed abortion were chose as trial group,while 20 normal females received induced abortion in the same time as control group.Chemiluminescence method was used to measure the serum levels of IgG/IgM aCL and IgG/IgM anti-β2GPI antibodies in the two groups.Results The median levels of serum IgM aCL antibodies and serum IgM anti-β2GPI antibodies in trial group were significantly higher than those of control group(21.3(2.2-39.4)KU/L vs.6.0(1.5-10.7) KU/L,11.9(1.2-25.4) KU/L vs.1.9(1.1-4.0) KU/L;u=2.031,2.912;P ＜0.05).There were no significant differences in terms of the levels of serum IgG aCL antibodies and serum IgG anti-β2GPI antibodies between trial group and control group (P＞0.05).Conclusion There is correlation between IgM aCL as well as IgM anti-β2GPI antibodies and missed abortion,so in reducing the incidence of missed abortion,early and dynamic detection of anti-cardiolipin and anti-β2 glycoprotein I antibodies in childbearing women has a certain clinical significance.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the protective effects of punicosides on alcohol induced acute liver injury in mice and its possible mechanisms as well.

METHODThe 60 mice were randomly divided into normal control, model group, three dose groups of punicosides with low, medium and high, then there is silibinin group. Three dose groups of punicosides and silibinin were given in advance by gavage for 4 weeks, then the mouse model of alcoholic acute liver injury was established. The serum levels of ALT, AST and TG were determined, and the mice were killed to calculate somatic index of liver, thymus as well as spleen. MDA, SOD, GSH-Px and GSH-ST were detected in the liver homogenate. Histopathological changes of the liver were observed by HE staining. The expression of MCP-1 and NF-kappaB in the liver tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.

RESULTMid and high dose of punicosides reduced the liver index in mice significantly, improved liver steatosis, decreased the level of ALT, AST and TG in serum and the content of MDA in liver homogenate, furthermore the two dose groups increased the activity of SOD, GSH-Px and GSH-ST, inhibited the expression of MCP-1 and NF-kappaB in liver tissue.

CONCLUSIONPunicosides can protect the acute liver damage induced by alcohol.

BACKGROUND:Ability of adipose mesenchymal stem cels differentiating into type II alveolar epithelial cels and the regulating mechanism have not been fuly elucidated.
OBJECTIVE:To study the ability of adipose mesenchymal stem cels differentiating into type II alveolar epithelial cels in vitro and the function of Wnt pathway in the regulation of differentiation.
METHODS:Adipose mesenchymal stem cels were obtained from fat tissue of rats and identified by flow cytometry. The adipose mesenchymal stem cels were divided into control group, smal airway growth medium (SAGM) group and Wnt3a group. Control group was treated with normal DMEM medium; SAGM and Wnt3a groups were both treated with smal airway growth medium, and additionaly, the Wnt3a group was treated with Wnt3a, a Wnt signaling pathway agonist. After 10 days, quantitative RT-PCR and immunofluorescence detection were used to test the expression of surfactant proteins B, C, D, type II alveolar epithelial markers. Phosphorylatedβ-catenin and GSK-3β were detected using western blot after 5 and 10 days of induction.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Adipose mesenchymal stem cels with high purity could be successfuly isolated from the adipose tissue of rats, and expressed CD44 and CD29, but not CD11b and CD45. After SAGM treatment, protein and mRNA expressions of surfactant proteins B, C, D were al increased in adipose mesenchymal stem cels (P < 0.01), indicating the ability of adipose mesenchymal stem cels to be induced into type II epithelial cels. Surfactant proteins B, C, D expressions at protein and mRNA levels were significantly higher in the Wnt3a group than the SAGM group (P < 0.01). During the induction progress, the expression of phosphorylated β-catenin gradualy increased, but GSK-3βexpression gradualy decreased in the Wnt3a group (P < 0.01). These findings indicate that Wnt signaling pathways are involved in differentiation of adipose mesenchymal stem cels into type II alveolar epithelial cels.

Objective Compare the three kind of criteria in evaluating the incidences of postop-erative cognitive dysfunction in non-cardiac surgery.Methods Four hundred and sixty one non-cardiac surgery patients were randomly enrolled in this study group and two hundred forty four non-surgery patients as control group.Patients??cognitive state was measured on preoperative and postoperative 1 and 3 d by mini-mental state examination(MMSE).POCD was assessed by patients??education level, one standard deviation and Z-score scale,respectively.Results On the first and third day after sur-gery,Z-score scale assess POCD result showed the highest relevance ratio and 95%CI as well as the lowest education level.The education scale showed the lowest incidence of POCD.Education level criteria was positive on postoperative 1 and 3 day,while one case on postoperative 1 day and four cases on postoperative 3 day were negative by Z-score scale.Conclusion The incidence of POCD in same pa-tients by three kind of criteria are different.The Z-score scale is recommended to evaluate the POCD in order to avoid misdiagnosis.

Objective To prospectively investigate the characteristics and correlative influential factors of pulmonary hypertension (PHT) in patients on long-term maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). Methods Pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) was assessed by echocardiography according to the guideline from the American Society of Echocardiography in 2010 and PASP more than 35 mm Hg was diagnosed as PHT.Echocardiography and pulse wall velocity (baPWV) was performed in the next day after hemodialysis.Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) flow was evaluated by the ultrasound dilution method.Hemodialysis-related informations and laboratorial parameters were detected in the same period. Results One hundred and eleven MHD patients [male 45,female 66,mean age (57.32±12.49) years old] in our hemodialysis center were included in the study.All of the patients received MHD treatment for more than 6 months with AVF as the vascular access.The patients with any possible diseases causing PHT were excluded.The mean MHD period was (70.51±44.98) months.Twenty-eight patients (25.32％) were diagnosed as PHT with mean PASP (45.68±10.83) mm Hg.Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction was severer in patients with PHT than that in patients without PHT.The prevalence of moderate to severe diastolic dysfunction was statistically higher in PHT group compared to non-PHT group (53.60％ vs 6.02％,P＜0.01).Ejection fraction (EF),fractional shortening of left ventricular diameter in PHT group were also significantly lower than those in non-PHT patients (62.06％±14.90％ vs 69.72％±8.60％,36.46％±10.04％ vs 40.20％±7.86％,P＜0.01).The patients with EF less than 50％ were 21.43％and 3.61％ in PHT and non-PHT group respectively.However,there were no significant differences in age,sex,MHD periods,body mass index (BMI),interval dialysis weight growth,blood pressure before dialysis,hemoglobin,albumin,pre-albumin,serum calcium and phosphorus,iPTH,nPCR,Kt/V,baPWV and AVF flow between the two groups. Conclusions PHT is a common complication of patients on long-term MHD.There is close relationship between PHT and left ventricular insufficiency.PHT is not significantly relevant to mineral metabolic disturbance,AVF flow,hemoglobin,dialysis adequacy and nutrition status.
