1.Characteristics of Naringenin Contents in Exocarpium Citri Grandis

【Objective】 To assay the naringenin content in different medicinal materials of Exocarpium Citri Grandis (ECG). 【Methods】 High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was applied to determine the naringenin content in different medicinal materials of ECG. The chromatographic conditions were: gradient elution being performed with methanol as mobile phase A and water - acetic acid (61: 4) as mobile phase B, flowing rate being 1.0 mL/min; detecting wavelength at 283 nm. 【Results】 In the rage of 0.088~0.880 ?g, naringenin showed a good linearity with the chromatographic peak area, r=0.9999, average recovery rate was 95.49% and RSD=2.00% (n=5). The naringenin content in 23 different samples of ECG was in the range of 0.1~1.0 mg?g~(-1). 【Conclusion】 It is the first time to establish the HPLC method for the determination of naringenin content in ECG and the method is accurate and reproducible. Naringenin content in varieties of ECG is stable and the difference of naringenin content between Citrus grandis Osbeck. Var. tomentosa Hort. and Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck is not significant.
2.Studies on Preparation Technology for Maodongqing Drop Pill

[Objective] To optimize the preparation technology of Maodongqing Drop Pill (MDP). [Methods] Orthogonal design was used to observe the influence of preparation conditions such as dry extract content, dry extract gram size, gel forming matrix and cooling agents on the quality of MDP. [Results] MDP made under the optimized conditions was good in shape, and color and luster, and not adhesive, indicating the good quality of the product. [Conclusion] This optimized preparation technology of MDP is simple with satisfied technique parameters and is suitable for mass production in the enterprises.
3.Study on the effects of Azone on the transdermal kinetics of Resibufogenin

Objective: To study the effect of Azone on the transdermal kinetics of Resibufogenin from toad venom. Methods: The transdermal constants of Resibufogenin var hairless mice skin are determined with various concentration of Azone as transdermal enhancers. Results: The transdermal constants are 81.25, 114.92, 169.63 , 196.31, 208.27, 261.35 (?g/cm 2?h) while the concentration of Azone are 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, respectively. Conclusion: Azone can enhance Resibufogenin penetrate skin and the optimum concentration of Azone is 10%.
4.Influence of Different Dosage Form on the Release Rate of Sustained-released Danshen Extract Preparations

Objective To study the influence of different dosage forms on the release rate of total salvianolic acid of sus- tained-released Danshen extract preparations.Methods With salvianolic acid B as the standard,uhraviolet spec- trophotometry and the release test were applied to determine the accumulated release rate of total salvianolic acid of sus- tained-released Danshen extract preparations(R1~R9)of 9 different dosage forms and to evaluate the release behav- ior of sustained-released Danshen extract preparations in vitro.Results The accumulated release rate of total sal- vianolic acid in R7 was the best,and the in vitro release behavior was consistent with Higuchi equation:M_1/M_∞= 0.363 4t~(1/2)-0.1656,r= 0.996 2.Conclusion R7 is the first choice dosage form for the preparation of the sus- tained-released Danshen extraction preparations.
5.Study on the relativity of oil/water partition coefficient of hydroxycamptothecin and its absorption coefficiency in small intestines of rats

AIM: To explore the correlativity of the oil/water partition of hydroxycamptothecin and its absorp-tion coefficiency in small intestine in rats.METHODS: pH value of water phase in buffer solution in turn took 2.2,4.6,7.4,9.6 and 11,while octanol was adopted as oil phase.After phase equilibrium,HPLC was used to determine the concentration of hydro-xycamptothecin,and oil/water partition coefficient was calculated with the phenol red as volume calibration agent,small intestinal absorption coefficients of rats in different pH were plotted against its oil/water partition coefficients.RESULTS: Oil/water partition coefficient(x) of hydroxycamptothecin and small intestinal absorption(y) altered with the change of pH value of the dispension medium.The linear re-gress equation was constructed as y = 0.001 3x + 0.009 1 with its correlation coefficient R2 being 0.959 7.CONCLUSION: There exists a good linear dependence between oil/water partition coefficient of hydroxycamptoth-ecin and its absorption coefficient in small intestines of rats.Oil/water partition coefficient can be used to design the new oral preparations.

[Objective] To compare the difference of fingerprints of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from different places of origin. [Methods] The chemical components of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from 6 places of origin were detected by thin-layer chromatography. [ Results ] The thin-layer chromatogram of volatile components of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from different places of origin was similar. The contents of methanol-extract and petroleum-ether-extract from Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. planted in Gaoyao, Guangdong differed greatly from those in other places of origin, which can be used to identify the herb of Pogostemon cablin ( Blanco) Benth. from Gaoyao, Guangdong. [Conclusion] Thin-layer chromatographic fingerprints can be used as the parameter to differentiate Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from different places of origin.
8.Prediction of absorption of 10-hydroxycamptothecin in small intestines of rats with its partition coefficients in phases of liposomes and water.

This paper explore the possibility of using the partition of 10-hydroxycamptothecin in the phases of liposome and water to predict the absorption of the drug in small intestine of rats. In order to certify this theory, the in vivo absorption model have been used to study the absorption of 10-hydroxycamptothecin in the small intestine of rats while altering the pH of the medium. The correlation has been explored between the partition of drug in the phases of liposome and water and the absorption of drug in the small intestines of rats. And it was found that the partition of 10-hydroxycamptothecin in the phases of liposome and water and the absorption of the drug in small intestines of rats altered with the changes of pH, and there existed a good relative coefficient between them. All of these indicated that partition of 10-hydroxycamptothecin in phases of liposome and water can be used to predict its absorption in small intestines of rats.

9.Study on dissolution in vitro of Zhike Pingchuan sustained-release tablets.

OBJECTIVETo establish a method to evaluate the in vitro release of Zhike Pingchuan sustained-release tablets.
METHODThe ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, scopolamine were chosen as marker components components, and the chromatographic conditions were chosen according to the separation of baseline and theoretical plate number for determining the marker in vitro release of Zhike Pingchuan sustained-release tablets; through the dissolution curves of the three active components, the release behavior was judged as well-balanced release or not.
RESULTCompared with conventional tablets, the Zhike Pingchuan sustained-release tablets had a well-balanced behavior in 10 h.
CONCLUSIONThe maker components of Zhike Pingchuan sustained-release tablets and two chromatographic conditions, which were used to determine the dissolution of the sustained-release tablets, could be chosen as evaluation methods for the in vitro release of Zhike Pingchuan sustained-release tablets.

10.Change and significance of plasma lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 and Lipoprotein(a)levels in atherosclerotic cerebral infraction

Objective To analyze the relationship between plasma lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2,lipoprotein(a)and atherosclerotic cerebral infraction(ACI).Methods The carotid plaque stability of 60 cerebral infraction patients were determined by cervical vascular color Doppler ultrasound.Plasma Lp-PLA2 and Lp(a)levels were detected by enzyme linked immunosor-bent assay(ELISL).Scores of neurological impairment were assessed by the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).Results 44 patients with ACI showed unstable carotid plaques, while 16 patients with ACI showed stable carotid plaques.Compared with control group,the levels of plasma Lp-PLA2 and Lp(a)were higher in ACI group (P <0.05).The levels of plasma Lp-PLA2 and Lp (a )in unstable plaque group were higher than those in stable plaque group (P <0.05).The plasma level of Lp-PLA2 was negatively correlated with neurological impairment (P >0.05).Conclusion Increasing of Lp-PLA2 and Lp(a)are closely related with atherosclerotic cere-bral infarction.In clinic,the risk of cerebral infarction can be predicted by detecting the levels of Lp-PLA2 and LP(a),and it can play an important role in preventing and reducing the recurrence of cerebral infarction.
