OBJECTIVE To study the influence of various packing methods and controlling method toward the hidden wet pack after steam sterilization to ensure the sterilization quality and hygiene safety.METHODS The medical equipment was packed with three types of methods, then unloaded from the steam autoclave after being cooled at different time to observe their heating speed respectively. To choose two types of cotton fabric packaging methods, prolong the heating time, and cool in the steam autoclave for 30 minutes, then observe the heating speed of the inside pack and the dry qualification status after 12 hours respectively.RESULTS The heating speed was the fastest with the medical crinkly paper method;the heating speed of the inside pack didn't have any improvement after prolonging the heating time;the dry qualification rate had distinct difference between the two types of cotton fabric methods after 12 hours(P

Objective To investigate imaging parameters on low field MRCP and to optimize the quality of images. Methods MRCP in 77 cases were performed using Airis-Ⅱcomfort open 0.3T low field MR imaging system made by HITACHI company.3D-FSE combined with 2D single-shot breath-hold FSE sequences were used. The 3%~5% compound solution of Gd-DTPA was taken to restrain the hige signals from remaining liquid in stomach. Results MRCP examination was succeeded in all 77 cases and the images in all cases but 2 were fine for diagnosis. The total diagnostic accuracy was 79.2%.The accuracy of MRCP in the detection of the degree and location of pancreaticobiliary duct obstruction was 100%. Conclusion The distinct MRCP images can be obtained with low field MR system using combination of several scanning techniques and proper scanning parameters, and also patients have to prepare fully.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of the low field MRCP in obstructive jaundice by comparing its result with that of US and CT. Methods 55 cases of obstruction jaundice patients proved by clinical diagnosis were studied and compared the collected original diagnosis results by low filde MRCP with US and CT.Results Of 55 cases of obstructive jaundice, 30 were cholelithiasis ,21 were tumors and 4 belonged to the other type. The accuracy of MRCP for defining the site of obstruction was 100%. The accuracy for identifying the cause of obstruction was 81.8%.Conclusion The low filde MRCP can accurately define the obstructive site in biliary obstructive disease .When used together with 2D single-shot breath-hold MRCP , T 2WI, T 1WI and 3D-FSE MRCP shows high accuracy and sensitivity in diagnosing obstructive jaundice.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of MRI in hepatic echinococcosis. Methods MRI features of 37 cases with hepatic echinococcosis proved by operation and pathology were analysed in comparison with that of CT.Results The hepatic echinococcosis could be divided into five types according to the manifestations of CT and MRI:simple cyst in 8 cases, multiple daughter cyst in 13 cases, ruptured cyst in 7 cases, consolidated and calcified cyst in 4 cases and mixed cyst in 5 cases. Conclusion MRI can clearly show and determine the location, size, form, number and types of hepatic echinococcosis, that are helpful for the plan of operation.

Objective To describe the clinical spectrum, especially sleep disorder in three patients diagnosed with Morvan syndrome. Methods Three consecutive patients were identified with Morvan syndrome in the Department of Neurology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital between December 2014 and March 2016.The character in three cases has been studied from several aspects such as clinical presentation, imaging, polysomnography (PSG), cerebrospinal fluid and serum. Results Serum test showed serum contactin-associated protein 2 (CASPR2)antibodies strongly positive (+++) and leucine-rich glioma inactivated protein 1 antibodies positive (+) in three patients.Neuropsychiatric features, neuromyotonia, neuropathic pain, dysautonomia, agrypnia excitata presented in all three patients. The agrypnia excitata was characterized by severe insomnia, excessive motor activity during the night.Agrypnia excitata was diagnosed in three patients according to their history.PSG was finished in case 2 and case 3.PSG in one patient (case 2) documented severe insomnia (sleep efficiency was 59%), lack of cyclic sleep organization with a predominance of stage 1 non-rapid eye movement sleep episodes intermixed with brief rapid eye movement, and a marked reduction of spindles and delta sleep;PSG in another patient (case 3) revealed complete absence of recognizable sleep.Sleep disorders and other symptoms resolved completely or almost completely in two patients (case 1,case 2) who received immunotherapy.Case 3 died from sudden cardiac death before immunotherapy. Conclusions Morvan syndrome usually is associated with high-titer CASPR2 antibodies in serum.Agrypnia excitata is cardinal manifestation of Morvan syndrome in association with a spectrum of neurologic presentations.Early immunotherapy could provide a favorable outcome.

To realize the simultaneous fermentation of xylose and glucose, ptsG (one of the glucose-PTS genes) was deleted from the engineered ethanologenic Escherichia coli SZ470 (deltapflB, deltafrdABCD, deltaackA, deltaldhA), resulting in loss of glucose effect in the mutant SZ470P (deltaptsG). When tested in 5% mixture of glucose (2.5%) and xylose (2.5%), SZ470P simultaneously used glucose (13 g/L) and xylose (20 g/L) whereas the parent strain SZ470 sequentially used glucose (25 g/L) then xylose (5 g/L). Upon completion of the fermentation, both strains achieved similar product yield of 89%. SZ470P produced 15.01 g/L of ethanol, which was 14.32% higher than that produced by SZ470 (12.86 g/L). Deleting ptsG gene enabled the mutant strain SZ470P to simultaneously use both glucose and xylose and achieve better ethanol production.
