OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes between pressure of trochlea of talus surface and distribution of area after anterior lower tibiofibular ligament rupture, and provide basis for treating anterior lower tibiofibular ligament rupture.
METHODSSix fresh adult ankle joint specimens (4 males and 2 females, ranging age from 25 to 60 years, with an average of 44.6 years) were adopted. The specimens were removed from skin and muscles, remained ankle joint capsule, medial and lateral ligaments and anteroinferior tibiofibular ligament. The ankle joint was fixed with a special fixture in neutral position. Pressure sensitive film (700 N axial load ) was respectively used to measure mean pressure, peak pressure and stress distribution area of the upper articular facet of talar trochlea of the normal ankle joint and the ankle joint with anterioinferior tibiofibular ligament rupture.
RESULTSThe stress distribution areas of the control group and the ruptured group were respectively (367.8 +/- 54.0) mm2 and (386.0 +/- 53.7) mm2; the mean pressures were respectively (1.40 +/- 0.12) MPa and (1.70 +/- 0.35) MPa; the peak pressures were respectively (2.60 +/- 0.33) MPa and (3.20 +/- 0.32) MPa. The experimental results showed that the change in stress distribution area after anterioinferior tibiofibular ligament rupture was not significant (t = 0.021, P = -0.983). When stress distribution changed, the region of stress concentration transferred to poster lateral, and mean pressure (t = 4.140, P = 0.020) and peak pressure (t = 3.169, P = 0.010) increased significantly.
CONCLUSIONWhen anterior lower tibiofibular ligament rupture occurs, mean pressure, peak pressure and stress distribution of pressure of trochlea of talus surface is changed, which may cause traumatic arthritis, and surgical treatment is considerably used to restore normal anatomy.

2.The involvement of endocrine disrupting chemicals in spermatogenic cell apoptosis.
National Journal of Andrology 2003;9(2):129-132
Elimination of spermatogenic cells via apoptosis occurs spontaneously under normal physiologic conditions and is often aggravated after chemical-induced testicular impairment. A great amount of pollutants is released into the environment by modern industry, and many of these substances have been confirmed possessing reproductive toxicity, which can affect the reproduction and development of organism. These chemicals have been categorized to endocrine disrupting chemicals(EDCs). Studying spermatogenic cell apoptosis induced by EDCs will enrich and expand the pathway to identify EDCs, and will put forward new expounding of its mechanism. It has important meaning in the field of reproduction toxicology and male fertility.

Objective To preliminarily evaluate the value of color power doppler ultrasonography in the diagnosis of sacroiliitis in ankylosing spondylitis(AS). Methods Fifty-seven sacroiliac joints in 31 patients with active AS and 40 sacroiliac joints in 20 volunteers were detected by color power doppler ultrasonography. The color flow signs inside the sacroiliac joints were observed, and the resistance index(RI) was measured. Results In active AS,color flow signs were seen in 55 joints, and the mean RI value was 0.53?0.08 in 45 joints, while the other 10 color flow signs represented reversed phase in diastolic phase on pulse doppler ultrasonography. In the volunteers, color flow signs were seen in 16 joints, and the mean RI value was 0.97?0.01 in 6 joints, while the other 10 color flow signs represented reversed phase in diastolic phase on pulse doppler ultrasonography. Conclusion The abnormal flow signs at the sacroiliac joints can be detected by color power doppler ultrasonography.Low RI values provide diagnosis evidence for active AS.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2017;37(2):191-196
The dynamic expression of cytokines and phenotypes during the differentiation process of dendritic cell precursors (pre-DCs) to mature dendritic cells (DCs) was investigated, and the effects of inflammatory stimulation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on DCs differentiation were understood. The differentiation of bone marrow cells isolated from Balb/c mice was induced to DCs in an 8-day cell culture system with RPMI-1640 complete culture medium containing 10% FBS,20 ng/mL recombinant mouse granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (rmGM-CSF) and 10 ng/mL recombinant mouse interleukin-4 (rmIL-4).On the day 3,6 and 7 after culture,DCs were divided into non-LPS group and LPS group, given 500 ng/mL LPS for 24 h stimulation and no stimulation respectively. The expression levels of CD 1 l c+,MHC-Ⅱ +,CD40+,CD80+ and CD86+ were detected by flow cytometry, and those of IL-2,IL-4,IL-10,IL-12 p70 and IFN-γ in the supernatant by ELISA.On the day 3 and 6 after culture, the expression of IL-2,IL-4,IL-10 and IFN-γ in DCs showed no significant differences between non-LPS group and LPS group, whereas the differences were significant at day 7.The expression levels of cytokines (for IL-2,IL-4,IL-10,IFN-γ and IL-12 p70:152.86±6.91,778.33±8.35,44.55±2.54,5.8.26±1.09 and 2423.00±57.21 pg/mL respectively) in LPS group were higher than those in non-LPS group, especially IL-12 p70 increased obviously at day 7.It was concluded that during the differentiation process of pre-DCs to mature DCs,LPS stimulates DCs producing large amounts of IL-12 p70 and Thl-type cytokines as compared with Th2-type cytokines, and day 7 may be a key time-point for DCs polarization.

National Journal of Andrology 2007;13(6):514-519
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of diet-induced obesity on the developmental process of testes in pubertal rats.
METHODSEighty 21-day-old male SD rats were randomly divided into a control group (n=32) and an experiment group (n=48), and fed respectively on a normal diet and a high-fat diet. And changes in the body weight, Lee's index, testis weight and epididymis weight were measured at the end of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th week after the treatment, that is, when the rats were 6, 7, 8 and 9 weeks old. The concentrations of testosterone and estradiol were determined by Access immunoassay system and the morphological alterations in testis development observed by HE staining.
RESULTSThe body weight of the high-fat group obviously increased at the end of the 3rd week (P < 0.05), 26.6% heavier than that of the control by the end of the 6th week (P < 0.01), and Lee's index was also obviously increased (P < 0.01). Compared with the controls, the testicular coefficient declined in the high-fat group at the end of the 5th and 6th week (P < 0.05), plasma TG and TC remarkably increased, the testosterone level obviously decreased (P < 0.05), estradiol concentration lowered at the end of the 3rd, 4th and 5th week but dramatically increased at the 9th, with significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.01). Microscope examination showed that spermatogenic epithelial cells were arranged in disorder, the spermatogenic cell layers reduced and the number of mature sperms reduced.
CONCLUSIONHigh-fat diet can induce nutritional obesity in pubertal rats, which in turn may lead to the underdevelopment of the testis and the abnormal level of gonadal hormones.

OBJECTIVETo study the condition of economic burden of disease in the countryside and to explore the related factors.
METHODSHuman capital method and two-step method were used in the calculation of economic burden of disease.
RESULTSThe total economic burden of disease among 3359 persons was 3072 225 Yuan. Noncommunicable conditions were accounted for 62.95%, while communicable disease, maternal and perinatal conditions accounted for 24.25%, and injury accounted for 9.83% respectively. The direct economic burden of disease was 1,559,619 Yuan and the indirect economic burden of disease was 1,472,606 Yuan. The economic burden of disease for each person was 914 Yuan. The equal burden of disease among patients with disability and without disability were 3070 Yuan and 680 Yuan respectively (P < 0.001). There was significant difference among different age groups. The influencing factors were found to include having noncommunicable disease, age, disability and the condition of marriage.
CONCLUSIONCorresponding policy to cope with conditions of different age groups needs to be developed to reduce the economic burden of disease in the countryside.
