Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2005;0(11):-
OBJECTIVE To give an overview of our hospital′s actual infection situation and to draw attention to infection control, thus improving the weaknesses. METHODS With a method of transversal section, choosing the day of Jun 14 2005,we investigated all this day′s hospitalized patients. RESULTS The result was that the infection rate was 6.6%,mostly contributed by the lower respiratory infection. CONCLUSIONS The incidence of nosocomial infection is connected with following factors such as hospitalized time, age, surrounding contamination, and the long time usage of antibiotics.
2.Effects of pulsed electromagnetic fields on BMD and TGF-?_1 in disuse osteoporosis rats
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(10):-
Objective To investigate the effects of pulsed electromagnetic fields(PEMF)on the bone mineral density(BMD)and serum level of transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-?1)in the disuse osteoporosis(DOP)rats. Methods Eighty 4-month-old female SD rats were randomly divided into 4 matched groups according to their weight:control group(INT group),DOP group, calcitonin group(CT group)and PEMF group.Rats in INT group were raised with the average amount of food consumed by the DOP rats.Right hindlimbs of rats in DOP,CT and PEMF groups were immobilized by tibia-tail fixation to establish DOP model as Zarzhevsky described.Rats in CT group were injected with calcitonin(2 IU/kg,i.p,once a day),and rats in group PEMF were irradiated with PEMF(8 Gs,15 Hz,a pulse time of 8 ms)immediately after operation. The rats(5 animals per time of each group)were killed at 1,2,4 and 8 weeks after operation and their right hindlimbs were resected. The BMD and serum TGF-?1 concentration were measured with a dual energy X-ray bone densitometer and ELISA respectively. Results Significant difference was observed in the femur proximal BMD between rats with right hindlimb immobilization(DOP group)and INT group 2 weeks later(P

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2009;17(8):626-635
Ischemic cerebrovascular disease may result in severe neurological deficits, and even death. Rho kinase is an important downstream substrate of Rho protein. It involves in multiple biological effects, including vascular smooth muscle contraction, cell migration, inflammatory cell infiltration and vascular endothelial dysfunction. It plays important roles in the processes of the occurrence, development and expansion of infarct volume in ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Rho kinase inhibitor can effectively relax vascular spasm, reduce local inflammatory response, protect endothelial function, increase blood flow in ischemic region, reduce infarct volume, and improve neurological function.

Although the treatment of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) has made considerable progress in recent years, its mortality and disability have not been effectively controlled.Ischemic brain injury after SAH is considered to be an important reason for the poor prognosis of patients; however, its mechanism is still not fully understood.Studies have shown that the cerebral microcirculation disturbance after SAH is closely associated with ischemic brain injury. This article reviews the advances in research on cerebral microcirculation disturbance and ischemic brain injury after SAH.

Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of IL-6 induced by LPS in ovarian cancer and the effect of IL-6 on the expression of EZH2 mRNA and protein in ovarian cancer cell lines.MethodsCulture ovarian cancer cell lines, according to the different medium composition, establish the experimental group and the control group, detect the concentration of IL-6 in the supernatant of ovarian cancer cells by ELISA and the OD values of each group by MTT assay.Western blotting was used to detect the expression of EZH2 protein in ovarian cancer cells. The mRNA expression of EZH2 was detected by RT-PCR.ResultsThe expression of IL-6 in the supernatant of ovarian cancer cells was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05).The proliferation of ovarian cancer cells was inhibited and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The expression of EZH2 protein in ovarian cancer cells was significantly decreased, and there was statistical difference (P<0.05).The mRNA expression of EZH2 was significantly decreased, and there was statistical difference (P<0.05).ConclusionLPS could induce the expression of IL-6 and inhibit cell proliferation in ovarian cancer cells.IL-6 could inhibit the expression of EZH2.

Objective To explore the true psychological experience of youthful patients with breast cancer in the period of diagnosis. Methods Using qualitative research based on employed phenomeno-logical methods,12 young patients of breast cancer were deep-interviewed, the literal data of interview were processed and analyzed by Colaizzid analysis method. Results 5 themes were found by analysis:change of self identification, serious uncertainty, change of self role, worry about working and social value and shortage of knowledge and ability for early diagnosis. Conclusions The clinical workers should under-stand the real psychological experience of young patients with breast cancer in diagnosis period and help them overcome the difficult period in their life.

Objective To compare the effect of silica-extraction method and Silico membrane based method in DNA purification from bones and teeth. Methods DNA samples were purified respectively with the silica-extraction method and MinElute PCR Purification kit from 6 bones and 8 teeth, then tested STR types by GlobalFiler? kits. And evaluated the two methods with the success rate and the peak height. Results Both of the two purification methods can successfully obtain the STR markers of the 14 samples. And there was no statistical difference between the two methods in the average peak height from bones and teeth. Conclusion The Silico membrane based method which have more advantages in operation is an efficient method to purify DNA from bones and teeth, and there is no significant difference compared with the silica-extraction method. But the cost is higher. It can be selectively used in forensic practice.

Objective To evaluate the consistency and accuracy among 3 brands of flow cytometers (BriCyte E6,BD FACSCanto Ⅱ and Beckman Coulter FC 500) in the detection of lymphocyte subsets. Methods According to the methodology, the BriCyte E6 was compared with 2 flow cytometers commonly used in clinical detection.Seventy-three cases (40 male and 33 female) of anticoagulation peripheral blood specimens were collected in the clinical laborartory department of Xinhua Hospital in July 2015 and the percentage (%) and absolute number (#) of the lymphocyte subsets were detected by 3 different flow cytometers within samples collected 4 h.Results There were good consistency among the 3 flow cytometers (R2 >0.95,R2 from 0.969 5 to 0.992 4) in the detection of lymphocyte subsets percentage,so did in the detection of absolute number (R2 > 0.95,R2 from 0.969 1 to 0.993 3).As to the precision evaluation,in the detectionof CD8%,T#,CD4+ T# and CD8+ T#,BriCyte E6 achieved a low CV% compared with FACSCanto Ⅱ and FC 500 (Friedman statistics are 16.720,11.840,15.760 and 15.430,P =0.000 2,0.027,0.000 4,0.000 4,respectively).In the detection of T%,CD4%,NK%,B%,NK#,B#,there was no significant difference among the 3 flow cytometers (Friedman statistics are 4.242,3.916,0.852,2.595,1.835 and 0.578,P =0.119 9,0.141 2,0.653 2,0.273 3,0.399 6,0.749 0,respectively).Conclusions The 3 flow cytometers have a good consistency in the detection of lymphocyte subsets.BriCyte E6 may be an alternative or complement of existing flow cytometers.
