The widespread application of adjuvant therapy has shown clear benefits in the treatment of operable breast cancer. It is essential for the clinicians to select appropriate adjuvant regimens for this heterogeneous group of patients. Recent data from clinical trials evaluating the utility of adjuvant therapy were reviewed.

[Objective] The aim of this article is to summarize the clinical experience of Dr. Shen Chunti, the successor of Menghe school in Jiangsu province ,for treating chronic cough.[Method] By following Dr. Shen, this article summarizes the academic point and clinical experience in the treatment of chronic cough, including etiology and pathogenesis, the combination of syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation ,and analyzes typical clinical cases. [Result] Dr. Shen Chunti thinks the etiology and pathogenesis of chronic cough cannot do without the wind, phlegm, Yin deficiency. The treatment should focus on dispelling wind and dispersing lung, reducing phlegm, nourishing Yin and moistening lung. And it is also important to combine the syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation .[Conclusion] Dr. Shen has accumulated rich experience in treating chronic cough ,it is worth to popularize her outstanding experience.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint application plus modified Yu Ping Feng decoction in treating cold due to weak constitution.MethodNinety-six patients with cold due to weak constitution were divided into two groups. The control group was intervened by regular Western medicine, while the treatment group was by acupointapplication plus modified Yu Ping Feng decoction.ResultThe total effective rate was 91.7% (44/48) in the treatment group, significantly higher than 79.2%(38/48) in the control group. A one-year follow-up study found that the disease duration and relapse frequency in the treatment group were markedly shorter and less than that in the control group (P<0.05).ConclusionAcupoint application plus modified Yu Ping Feng decoction can produce a significant efficacy in treating cold due to weak constitution.

Objective To investigate the value of the application of evidence-based medicine combining problem-based learning (EBM-PBL) in hematology internal teaching.Methods All the interns (n=112),who studied in hematology department from Mar.2013 to Feb.2014,were divided into two groups by parallel.One group received the traditional classroom oriented learning model (n=57),the other was trained how to obtain the most effective and correct evidence and autonomous learning (EBM-PBL,n=55).After two weeks learning,the different effectiveness was evaluated by comparing the oral and written tests holding instantly and annual final exam.Further,feedbacks were anonymously collected from the teachers and students in EBM-PBL group.Results The test scores of oral and written test in EBM-PBL are both significantly higher than those in control group (P=0.000),especially the oral exam.Compared with the instant test,the scores in later oral (P=0.054) and written (P=0.023) examinations were slightly decreased in EBM-PBL group,while they both dramatically dropped in control group (P=0.000).The performance of eight-and seven-year students was generally better than those of five-year students,however,five-year students seemed to get more benefits from EBM-PBL teaching.Feedbacks showed that most of the teachers and students agreed that they all made progress from the practice of EBM-PBL teaching.Conclusion It showed that EBM-PBL helps to cultivate students' self updating of medical knowledge and clinical skills,which ensuring them to follow the development in major field.Thereby,they could transform into excellent clinicians from the students.In addition,it also promoted the teachers to renew their knowledge system and the ability of teaching.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures treated by percutaneous kyphoplasty combined zoledronic acid.Methods Patients admitted to our hospital′s depart-ment of orthopedics from February 2010 to December 2013 were reviewed,and 67 patients underwent percutaneous ky-phoplasty were admitted.According to the application of zoledronic acid or not,they were divided into 2 groups,with 39 cases and 28 cases,respectively.On 67 patients before surgery,3 days after surgery,the end of follow -up surgery, VAS,ODI,vertebral height average recovery rate and Cobb angle were compared.The BMD was also compared before and after surgery.Results There was no difference between the two groups in all above indices before treatment(t =0.308,P =0.758;t =0.476,P =0.635;t =0.397,P =0.693;t =0.342,P =0.733).3 days after surgery,the levels of VAS,ODI and Cobb angle all decreased(t =25.820,P <0.001 vs.t =24.988,P <0.001;t =16.801,P <0.001 vs.t =17.008,P <0.001;t =9.717,P <0.001 vs.t =7.525,P <0.001),while vertebral height average recovery rate were increased in both groups(t =8.300,P <0.001 vs.t =6.363,P <0.001 ),but there was no difference between the two groups(t =0.177,P =0.861;t =0.568,P =0.572;t =0.453,P =0.652;t =0.508,P =0.613).In the end of follow -up surgery,there was a significant difference between the two groups(t =4.779,P <0.001;t =7.041,P <0.001;t =2.517,P =0.014;t =2.406,P =0.019).There was no difference between the two groups in BMD(t =0.479,P >0.05),but it came to be a difference between the two groups in the end(t =2.710,P =0.009), although there was no difference in secondary fracture(23.1% vs.7.1%,χ2 =3.016,P =0.082).Conclusion Per-cutaneous kyphoplasty combined zoledronic acid has an excellent effect on osteoporotic vertebral compression frac-tures,it is worthy promoting.

Objective To find out the efficacy of the combination therapy of the West and Taditional Chineses Medicine for acute appendicitis patients with postoperative diarrhea.Methods According to the digital table,109 acute appendicitis patients with postoperative diarrhea were randomly divided into 59 cases of the treatment group and 50 cases of the control group.The control group were given with the conventional therapy and Western medicine therapy,and the treatment group were given with the Traditional Chinese Medicine based on the control group.Test results of stool specimens pathogen,the efficacy and the occurrence of adverse drug reactions were observed.Results 96 pathogens were detected in stool specimens of the two groups of patients,the four pathogens with thelargest constituent ratios were Vibrio,Shigella,Aeromonas and Proteus,and the constituent ratio were respectively 36.5 ％,22.9％,18.8％ and 11.5％.The remarkable effective rate and total efficiency of the treatment group was 83.1％,96.6％,respectively,which were significantly higher than 58.0％,84.0％ of the control group(x2 =8.426,4.598,all P ＜ 0.05).The incidence of adverse drug reactions of treatment group and the control group were 5.1％,6.0％,respectively,there was no significant difference between the two groups (x2 =1.028,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of the combination therapy of the West and Waditional Chineses Medicine for acute appendicitis patients with postoperative diarrhea was significant effect,and the incidence of adverse drug reactions was less.
