[Objective] To observe the therapeutic effect of heat-clearing and dampness-eliminating therapy for chronic hepatitis B with damp-heat syndrome and its influence on soluble interleukin-2 receptor (SIL-2R). [Methods] Chronic hepatitis B patients with damp-heat syndrome were divided into two groups by incomplete randomization. Group A ( n = 31) was treated with heat-clearing and dampness-eliminating therapy and Group B (n = 17) with routine western medicine for protecting hepatic function. SIL-2R level in peripheral blood was observed before and after treatment. [Results] Serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin (TB) and SIL-2R in chronic hepatitis B patients were much higher than those in healthy volunteers before theatment and were decreased after treatment (P 0.05) and that of markedly effective rate was significant (P

A survey was conducted among 121 health care managers and health workers in community health care institutions with questionnaire and interview.Data on health care conditions in the community and health needs of elderly people were collected and analyzed using principle component analysis method. The priority order of 17 community health care projects for elderly people was ranked with this analysis method and the development strategy of community health service was suggested.

Objective To study the effect of Kangxian Ruangan Granule(KRG)on the collagen degradation in hepatic astrocytes(HA)at the cellular and molecular level. Methods The medicated sera of KRG was used to i ncubate the sub-cultured HA and sodium chloride and c olchicines were taken as controls.T he content of typeⅠcollagen in the cultured su-pernatant was measured with ELISA an d then was corrected by assaying the t otal protein in cell layer. The mRNA e xpres-sions of matrix metalloproteinase -1(MMP1)and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase -1(TIMP -1)were analyzed by semiquantitative RT -PCR.Results The content of typeⅠcollagen in the KRG -cultured supern atant was lower than that in the other two groups(P

Objective To investigate the effect of internal fixation with proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) and bone cement on peritrochanteric tumors due to metastatic carcinoma. Methods Clinical data of 19 patients with peritrochanteric tumors due to metastatic carcinoma during June 2007 and July 2013 treated with PFNA and bone cement were retrospectively analyzed. Results Visual analogue scale(VAS) was (8.37 ± 1.12) scores before surgery, and (2.58 ± 1.26) scores after 3 d surgery. There was significant difference (t =22.45,P < 0.05).Conclusion For patients with peritrochanteric tumors due to metastatic carcinoma, internal fixation with PFNA and bone cement is an effective way to relieve pain, restore and improve hmb function and enhance quality of life.

The relationship between glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) M1, T1 genotype and childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) was investigated. GSTM1 and GSTT1 genotypes in genomic DNA from 67 children with ALL and 146 healthy controls were analyzed by using the multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The frequencies of GSTM1, M1-T1 null genotypes in ALL children were significantly higher than in the healthy controls (76.12% versus 52.74%, OR=2.856, P<0.001; 50.74% versus 24.66%, OR=3.148, P<0.001, respectively). However, there was no significant relationship between GSTT1 null genotype and ALL of children (61.19% versus 49.32%, OR=1.621, P>0.05). It was suggested that GSTM1 null genotype might be a risk genotype of childhood ALL, while there as no correlation between GSTT1 null genotype and childhood ALL.

In order to better understand the clinical manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with intracranial hypertension syndrome (IHS), we analyzed the clinical features and treatment of a typical SLE patient with IHS. SLE is one of the most unpredictable autoimmune diseases involving multiple organ systems that is defined clinically and associated with antibodies directed against cell nuclei. IHS is an uncommon manifestation of neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE) and is characterized by an elevated intracranial pressure, papilledema, and headache with occasional abducens nerve paresis, absence of a space-occupying lesion or ventricular enlargement, and normal cerebrospinal fluid chemical and hematological constituents. IHS has been reported in a few sporadic cases in patients with SLE worldwide, but rarely has been reported in China. In this study, a 34-year-old female SLE patient with IHS was reported and pertinent literature reviewed. The clinical presentation, image logical features, and investigatory findings were discussed.

Aim To study the effect of puerarin on reperfusion injury after thrombolytic therapy in acute pulmonary thromboembolism and its mechanism. Methods Thirty-two Japanese rabbits were randomly divided into sham operation group (group S),Thrombolysis-only group(group T), and Puerarin group(group Pur). Acute pulmonary thromboembolism models of rabbits were established with injection of autologous blood clots through the right heart catheters, haemodynamic monitoring was performed by introducing heart catheter through right jugular vein. The activity of plasma superoxide dismutase (SOD) and content of plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) were detected before embolization,2 h after embolization,2 h and 4 h after thrombolysis. At the end,the rabbits were sacrificed and their lung, removed for histopathologic and electron microscopic investigations. Results ①Pulmonary arterial mean pressure (PAMP) were decreased at 1 hour after thrombolysis both in group T and group Pur(P
