This study was aimed to offer a scientific basis for the differentiation and control quality of Castanea mol-lissima Blume shell. The determination was given from the morphological identification, microscopical identification and TLC identification. The results showed that through obtained information such as morphological traits, tissue powder and TLC characteristics, the longitudinal section micrographs of C. mollissima Blume shell and the micro-scopic images of tissue powder had been received. It was concluded that the study provided a reliable reference for the identification of the quality control standards of C. mollissima Blume shell.

Objective To study the effect of different family nursing methods on major catheter-re-lated complications in cancer patients with peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) during chemother-apy intermission so as to reduce the incidence of complications and prolong the indwelling time and service life of the catheter. Methods We randomly divided 213 cancer patients who were discharged from hos-pital with PICC into two groups. One group(108 cases) routinely came back to our outpatient clinic and the other (105 cases) went to the community for nursing of the catheter. Results The total incidence rate of complications of the group who came back to our outpatient clinic for nursing of the catheter was 13.8%(15/ 108) and the other group was 51.4%(54/105). There existed statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.01). Conclusions There exists correlation between different family nursing methods and catheter complication rate. We suggest patients come back to our outpatient clinic for nursing of the catheter as pos-sible as they can.

Objective: To explore the expression of Eotaxin and the effect of histamine in allergic rhinitis model (AR),and aim to explore the pathogenesis of AR. Method:The AR models were established by applicating of ovain albumin in rats. The expression of Eotaxin in nosal mucosa, serum and nasal cavity lavage fluid, were observed before and after treatment of histamine or its antagonist by immunochemistry,RT-PCR and ELISA technique. Result:The expression of Eotaxin in nasal lavage fluid and nasal mueosa increased after treatment of histamine(P<0.05). Contrarily, the expression of Eotaxin in nasal lavage fluid, nasal mucosa and serum decreased after treatment of the antagonist of histamine. Conclusion:Both histamine and its receptor can involve in the pathogenesis of AR by affecting the expression of Eotaxin.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2005;22(1):74-77
Scatter coincident events are the important factor that affects the quality of positron emission tomography (PET) images. In this paper, according to the characters of projection data, a scatter correction method which uses maximum likelihood expectation maximization (MLEM) algorithm based on poisson model is proposed. We compared the sinograms and reconstructed images corrected by MLEM algorithm and deconvolution method respectively. The results indicate that the algorithm proposed in this paper increases the contrast of images while correcting scatter. It is better than the traditional method.

Objective To investigate the action and mechanism of NF-κB pathway in up-regulating B cell-activating factor receptor (BAFF-R) expression in multiple myeloma cells induced by IFN-γ.Methods Activated NF-κB were detected with Western blot, while the expression of BAFF-R were measured with RT-PCR and ELISA, and investigated the effect of BAY11-7082 on transcription of BAFF-R mRNA and translation of protein in multiple myeloma cells stimulated by IFN-γ. Results IFN-γ can induce the degradation of IκB-α in time-dependent and dosage-dependent manner, and up-regulated BAFF-R expression in multiple myeloma cells. BAY11-7082, an NF-κB inhibitor, inhibited not only the transcription of BAFF-R mRNA but also the protein of regulated by IFN-γin dosage-dependent manner. Conclusion NFκB may play an important role in high expression of BAFF-R in multiple myeloma cells induced by IFN-γ.

Objective To analyze iodine nutrition and its correlation with thyroid function in pregnant women. Methods A total of 295 pregnant women were enrolled from Jun.to Oct.2016,and detected for serum levels of thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),free thyroxine(FT4) and thyroid-peroxidase antibody(TPOAb) by using electrochemiluminescence analysis, and for urinary iodine concentration(UIC) by cold digestion method according to iodine catalytic effect of arsenic-cerium.Results The median of UIC was 174.90 μg/L.The prevalence of iodine deficiency and iodine excess were 40.00% and 7.12% respectively. The prevalence of TPOAb positivity and thyroid dysfunction in the iodine deficiency group and iodine excess group were significantly higher than those of iodine proper group(P<0.05).The levels of TSH and FT4 of iodine excess group were significantly higher than those of iodine proper group(P<0.05).Conclusion The abnormality of iodine nutrition could be common in pregnant women.Monitoring of UIC and thyroid hormones should be highlighted.

Objective To observe the bioeffects on the normal rats synovial with diagnostic ultrasound combined with different doses contrast medium. Methods Twenty normal cleaning level Wister rats were divided into 5 groups (each with 4 rats and 8 knees): ultrasound+100 μl contrast medium, ultrasound+200 μl contrast medium, ultrasound+300 μl contrast medium, ultrasound+500 μl contrast medium, a simple ultrasound irradiation (control group). Each group was irradiated with diagnostic ultrasound for 10 min. Rats were sacrificed after 1 week and joints synovial tissues were observed with pathological HE staining. Results In group ultrasound+100 μl contrast medium, ultrasound+200 μl contrast medium, ultrasound+300 μl contrast medium and control group, no significant damage in synovial tissues was found. In group ultrasound+500 μl contrast medium, synovial cells swelling, showing round, oval or polygonal, synovial tissues hyperplasia, arranged disorder, capillary proliferation, some muscle fiber structure dissolved fracture, inflammatory cell infiltration in the surrounding tissue were found. Conclusion Ultrasound combined with contrast medium can significantly enhance the bioeffects of synovial tissues, and the more the contrast medium doses, the more serious injury occurs in synovial tissues.

Objective To explore the feasibility of enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) transfection into the joint synovial tissues of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) rats by ultrasound-mediated microbubble destruction. Methods Twenty-eight normal rats were established the RA rat model, four rats were control group,twenty-four rats were categorized into four experimental groups:EGFP,ultrasound +EGFP,microbubbles + EGFP,and ultrasound + microbubbles + EGFP.The last group was irradiated with ultrasound for 10 min after the mixture consisting of 300 μl Sono Vue and 10 μg EGFP was injected into the joint cavity. The rats were sacrificed after 3 days and the joint synovial tissues were collected for EGFP observation under fluorescence microscopy and quantitative analysis by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Results Comparing with control group,EGFP expression was observed in the rat joint synovial tissues from all groups. However,a strong EGFP expression was observed in the ultrasound + microbubbles +EGFP group.EGFP expression had no statistically significant difference (the P values were 0.89,0.93,and 0.82,respectively,P > 0.05) in the EGFP,ultrasound + EGFP and microbubbles + EGFP groups. However,EGFP expression in the EGFP,ultrasound + EGFP,microbubbles + EGFP groups significantly differed (all P values were <0.01) from that in the ultrasound + microbubbles + EGFP group. Conclusions Ultrasound-mediated microbubble destruction can improve EGFP transfection efficiency into the joint synovial tissues of RA rats.
