The understanding of anatomical structures and their adjacent relationship is the founda-tion and key to the development of surgical skills and clinical thinking. In clinical teaching for residents and graduate students , we took the advantage of donor operations in organ transplantation and showed abdominal anal operations anatomical features and relationships through different view angles and compre-hensive ways. This new teaching approach was designed in accordance with processes of organ donation, procurement and back-table operation. The main contents included anatomy of abdominal wall layers, rela-tionships among abdominal organs, locations and courses of important structure, as well as medical human-istic education. In the context of organ donation becoming more and more popular and standardized after the cardiac death of Chinese citizens, this teaching approach is worth exploring.

Objective To investigate the proliferation and survival of endogenous new born cells in the hippocampus of post-stroke depression (PSD) rats. Methods Male SD rats were divided into 4 groups (n = 18): control, stroke, depression and PSD group. The animals were subjected to left middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) reaulting in consistent focal cerebral infarcts, followed by an 18-day exposure to chronic mild stress (CMS) and single housing to induce PSD animal model The dynamic expression of brodmodeoxyuridine (BrdU), neuron-specific nuclear protein (NeuN) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in the left dentate gyrus of hippocampus were determined by immunohistochemistry or double-lable immunofluorescence staining. BrdU was a marker of new born cell, NeuN and GFAP marked that new born cell differentiated into neuron and astrocyto respectively. Results Compared with ischemia animals (232.2±8.6,123.7±2.6,136.2±2.6), in the left dentate gyrus, PSD samples had significantly less BrdU-positive cells ( 156.2±2.5, t =28.83, P < 0.01 ) on the 21st day after ischemia, and on day 30 and 45 ( 70.2±2.0, 81.2±1.1, t = 52.27, 62.08, both P < 0.01 ). The ratio of BrdU-positive cells to NeuN had decreased on day 30 (79.3%±2.8% vs 69.0%±3.4%, t =5.871, P < 0.01 )and day 45 (87.7% ±4.6% vs 78.3%±2.4%, t =4.403, P < 0.01) in PSD animals. There was a statistically significant increased proportion of BrdU-positive cells co-stained with GFAP in PSD animals compared with the ischemia ones on day 30 and45 (t =4.226, 8.945, both P < 0.01). Conclusion CMS following ischemia exerts an inhibitory effect on hippocampal survival of new born cells as well as their differentiation into neurons, while promotes new born cells differentiating into astrocytes.

Objective: To develop 5-FU multiple emulsion entrapped into thermo-sensitive gel (5-FU-DEG) and detect the ab-sorption and transportation in Caco-2 cell monolayer model. Methods:The 5-FU multiple emulsion was prepared by a two-step emulsif-ying method. Poloxamer 407 (P407) was used as the thermo-sensitive material and sodium alginate (SA) was used as the bioadhesive material for the preparation of 5-FU-DEG. Caco-2 cell monolayer model was used to investigate the transportation and absorption of 5-FU. Results:5-FU-DEG gelled at the ambient temperature and turned into liquid below 10℃ The apparent permeability coefficient (Papp) of 5-FU-DEG was 1.47 ±0.11 ×10 -5(cm·s-1), which was about 6 times higher than that of 5-FU water solution(2.39 ± 0.21 ×10 -6 cm·s-1)(P<0.01). The cellular uptake rate of 5-FU-DEG was (17.1 ±0.24) %, which was 3.9 times greater than that of 5-FU water solution (4. 41 ± 0. 23%)(P<0. 01). Conclusion:5-FU-DEG can efficiently enhance the transportation and ab-sorption of drug in rectal site by using micro-emulsion technology combined with thermo-sensitive technology, which can be an effective rectal delivery system for 5-FU to treat rectal cancer.

Objective To investigate the hypoglycemic effects of Laminaria japonica (L. japonica) on diabetic model induced by alloxan in rats. Methods Sixty healthy female rats were used to establish diabetic models by injecting alloxan peritoneally, and L.japonica was applied as raw materials for potential marine drugs. The levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG) were detected by automatic blood glucose device. Enzyme linkedimmunoabsorbant assay was applied to determine the insulin level in serum. The shape and structure of isletcells were observed with histopathological staining, and the expression of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in islet cells were detected by immunohistochemical technique. Results After the treatment, the levels of FBG of L.japonica treated group B [(9.37±1.70) mmol/LandC (9.18±1.65 ) mmol/L, F= 32.81, q=6.35~11.72, P<0.05 ] reduced, while the serum levels of insulin in treated group A, Band C (0.0378±0.0026, 0.0378±0.0027, 0.0367±0.0035) increased(F= 11.40, q=4.28~8.47, P<0.05) significantly than those of diabetic model group (0.0456 ±0.0057) . The shape and structure of islet cells improved with the up-expressing SOD(t=4.73~4.76, P<0.05)and down-expressing iNOS (t=4.81~5.30, P<0.05) in L.japonica treated group B and C than those in diabetic model group. Conclusion L.japonica might decrease the serum level of FBG through promoting the islet cell recovery by an anti-oxide effect.
