Objective To investigate the effects and prognosis of aspirin combined with atorvastatin calcium for the treatment of acute cerebral infarction.Methods According to the digital table,80 patients with acute cerebral infarction were selected and randomly divided into the control group and observation group,each group 40 cases.The patients in control group were given aspirin enteric-coated metformin hydrochloride 100mg/d treatment,while the ob-servation group was treated in the control group taking on the basis of atorvastatin calcium 20mg/d.After the continu-ous treatment of 4 weeks,the curative effects were compared between the two groups,and the different hs-CRP levels in the body of the prognosis of patients were analyzed.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95%,which was higher than 75%of the control group(χ2 =3.98,P<0.05);The total curative effect of patients with abnormal hs-CRP levels in the control group was 65%,while that in the observation group was 92%,there was statis-tically significant diference between the two groups(χ2 =4.21,P<0.05);The total curative effect of patients with normal hs-CRP levels in the control group was 94%,while that in the observation group was 100%,there was no sta-tistically significant difference between the two groups(χ2 =1.32,P>0.05).Conclusion Aspirin combination with atorvastatin calcium for the treatment of acute cerebral infarction exactly can well improve the prognosis,which is wor-thy of clinical popularization and application.

Objective To observe the effect of acupressure to relieve the adverse effect of patients and success rate of intubation during gastric tube insertion. Methods We divided 90 pancreatitis patients into the observation group and the control group randomly with 45 cases in each group.Routine intubation method was used in the control group.While in the observation group we gave acupressure of Neiguan and Hegu point based in the routine method.Then we compared the changes in heart rate,bucking,nausea,vomiting and other adverse effect as well as the one-time success rate of intubation.Results Changes in heart rate before and after intubation in the control group were significantly different(P<0.05).The incidence rate of adverse effect in the control group was 51.1%and rate of repeated intubation was 26.7%.In the observation group changes in heart rate was not evident(P>0.05).The incidence rate of adverse effect in the observation group was 4.4%and the one-time success rate of intubation was 97.8%.Conclusion It proved effective to use acupressure of Neiguan and Hegu point during gastric intubation for gastrointestinal decompression.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the metabolic changes of the Cu-Zn-superoxide dismutase (CuZnSOD) and pathogenesis of the gastric carcinoma and gastric ulcer. Methods CuZnSOD activity was measured in the 52 gastric carcinoma tissues and 10 gastric ulcer tissues. The distribution and expression level of CuZnSOD in the tissues were detected by immunohistochemical staining and density analysis, respectively. Results CuZnSOD activities in the gastric carcinoma and ulcer tissues were 17.73?1.74～62.85?8.47NU/mg protein and 71.73?6.01 NU/mg protein, respectively. CuZnSOD activities in the gastric far-end tissues of the gastric carcinoma and ulcer were 25.10?3.58 ～ 101.50?11.06 NU/mg protein and 139.67?8.80 NU/mg protein, respectively. The density scales of CuZnSOD expression in the gastric carcinoma cells and tissues were 83.83?7.28 ～ 145.25?8.84 and 124.67?6.30 ～ 146.13?8.51, respectively. There was not CuZnSOD expression in the gastric ulcer tissue, while the density scales of CuZnSOD expression in the normal gastric tissue was 144.60?7.32. Conclusion The metabolic change of CuZnSOD in the gastric carcinoma tissue was related with the histological classification and differentiation of gastric carcinoma. The ability of anti-oxidation obviously declined in the both local carcinoma tissues and extensive gastric tissues. However, the ability of anti-oxidation declined only in the center of gastric ulcer.

BACKGROUND: The osteoarthritis (OA) is attributed to Gubi of TCM,which is mainly caused by liver and kidney deficiency, deficiency and damage of both qi and blood and wind-cold-damp pathogen. Kidney-deficiency with coagulating-coldness syndrome is very common.OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical effect of the treatment of OA by invigorating the kidney, dispelling the cold and activating collaterals.DESIGN: Randomized controlled clinical study.SETTING: Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dongguan Shilong People's Hospital of Guangdong Province.PARTICIPANTS: Eighty-eight inpatients and outpatients who were most possible to benefit from the experiment were selected as the subjects from the Department of Rheumatism and the Clinic of Orthopedics from June 2005 to July 2006. All subjects were randomized into the experimental group (n=44) including 21 males and 23 females, whose ages ranged 42-70 years, and their average age was (62±8) years and the average course of diseases was (34±18) months, and the control group (n=44), including 24 males and 20 females, whose ages ranged 40-69 years, and their average age was (61±7) years and the average course of diseases was (34±16)months.METHODS: Patients in the experimental group were treated with Bushen Quhan Tongluo herbs by orally taken or externally washing. The prescription of Bushen Quhan Tongluo: Hutaorou (12 g), Buguzhi (12 g), Chaoduzhong (12 g), Shudi (15 g), Dahuixiang (9 g), Luoshiteng (15 g),Zhichuanwu (9 g), Sanqi (6 g), Wugong (3 g), Jixieteng (15 g). The prescription for external washing: Tuogucao (40 g), Danggui (15 g), Sumu (15 g),Shengdahuang (15 g), Shengnanxing (10 g), Ruxiang (10 g), Meyao (10 g),Bingpian (3 g). (Orally taken: The medicine shall be taken with water of 37 ℃ one dose a day. External washing: The medicine that dissolved in 500 mL of 100 ℃ boiled water was adopted to wash both knees while the temperature down to 35 ℃ one dose upon a time and twice a day). Patients in the control group were given sulfated glucosamine (Weiguli Capsule.Each capsule contains 314 mg of sulfated glucosamine crystal, which is equal to 250 mg of sulfated glucosamine) two capsules a time and 3 times a day as well as piroxicam (Yantong Xikang Pill) once a day and 20 mg each time. Patients in both groups were administrated for 12 weeks. Referring to the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) OA index and the clinical effect criterion of OA, the curative effect was compared between the two groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: WOMAC pain score, stiffness score,physiological function score, total score and the clinical effect.RESULTS: A total of 88 patients were involved in the analysis of results.joint stiffness index, physiological function index and the total index after the treatment in both the experimental group and the control group than those before the treatment (The experimental group: 4.95±2.46,11.39±4. 10;0.70±0.88,1.57± 1.42; 13.16±5.71,31.16± 10.08; 18.82±7.96,44.11 ± 13.29;Control group: 6.64±1.81,11.59±3.07 ;0.68±0.86,1.52±1.34; 14.25±3.99,pain index in the experimental group after the treatment was lower than that in thecontrol group, and the difference was remarkable (P ＜ 0.05),The total effective rate was 95.5% in the control group and it was 93.2% in the experimental group, and there was no marked difference between the epigastric discomfort in the control group, while there was no haematemesis, hemafecia or aggregation due to continuous administration. No adverse effect was found in the experimental group.CONCLUSION: Satisfying effect can be achieved in the treatment of OA of cold coagulation due to kidney deficiency by invigorating the kidney,dispelling the cold and activating the collaterals, moreover, the effect of relieving pain is especially excellent.

Objective To investigate the expression and diagnostic significance of DOG1,CD117and CD34 in gastrointestinal stromal tumors.Methods Expressions of DOG1,CD117 and CD34 were determined by immunohistochemical techniques (EnVision) in 60 cases of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) and 14 cases of other mesenchymal tumors.Results Expression of DOG1 in GIST was significantly higher than in other mesenchymal tumors (P =0.000).Expression of DOG1 in GIST from stomach was significantly higher than that from intestines.The expression rates of DOG1,CD117 and CD34 in GIST were 95％,95％,and 83.3％,respectively.Expression of DOG1 was significantly higher than CD34 (P =0.040),but no significant difference between DOG1 and CD117 (P =1.000).The expression rates of DOG1 in CD117-positive,CD34-positive tumors were 94.7％ and 94.1％,respectively.All the CD117-negative,CD34-negative tumors expressed DOG1,3 cases which were negative for CD117 and CD34 expressed DOG1.Conclusions DOG1 is a novel marker for GIST,It is necessary to the combined detection of the expression of DOG1,CD117 and CD34,which will further improve the diagnostic accuracy of GIST.

The toxicity of HCN inhaled via the respiratory tract in dogs and the therapeutic effects of DMAP and AmNO2 for such form of HCN intoxication were studied. The LD50 of HCN when inhaled was 850.4?80.4?g/kg.When the dosage of 2?LD50 of HCN was given to the experimental animals, the signs of intoxication developed rapidly. Uneasiness, struggling, strident barking, and respiratory excitation were observed several seconds after the exposure. Subsequently there was spasm of the extensors and rigidity of the extremities. Finally general inhibition and paralysis ensued. Respiration and heart beat stopped 6 and 7 minutes after exposure. If DMAP (3.25 mg/kg intramuscularly) or AmNO2 (2 ampules through inhalation) was administered 15 seconds after exposure, the survival rate of the animals was 90% or 100% respectively.When the dosage of 4?LD50 of HCN was inhaled and the two drugs were administered 45 seconds after exposure, the survival rate of the animals treated with DMAP remained as high as 90% (9/10) .But the survival rate of those treated with two ampules of AmNO2 or even three ampules reduced to 20% or 40% respectively.The amount of HCN inhaled during respiratory intoxication, the problems of early diagnosis and the administration of DMAP at the site of accident were analyzed and discussed.

Objective To investigate the different effect of exogenous leptin on estrogen receptor α,β mRNA in human breast tumor tissue in nude mice xenograft models. Methods We made nude mice xenograft models of MCF-7 human breast cancer cells cultured in vitro, then divided them into experimental group of]eptin( n = 30)and control group of normal saline( n = 30)randomly. The models of experimental group were injected subcutaneously the recombinant human leptin for 15 consecutive days, the models of control group were injected subcutaneously the same dose of normal saline. A real- time quantitative RT- PCR assay was developed to quantify the expression of estrogen receptor α, β mRNA in tumor tissue, using the relative quantitative analysis. Results The leptin-intervened nude mice xenograft models were safely established. The relative quantitation of estrogen receptor α mRNA was significantly higher in the leptin group than in the normal saline group ( P ＜ 0.01 ), the relative quantitation of estrogen receptor β mRNA was significantly lower in the leptin group than in the normal saline group ( P ＜ 0. 01 ). Conclusion The nude mice xenograft models can be safely intervened with human leptin by subcutaneous injection around tumor.Estrogen receptor is one of the targets of leptin in the progress of breast cancer. Exogenous human leptin can up- regulate the expression of estrogen receptor α and down- regulate the expression of the estrogen receptor βin nude mice xenograft models of human breast tumor.
