1.Expression of programmed death 1/programmed death ligand 1 signaling pathway in lymphoma
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2017;26(5):317-320
The latest study shows that the expression abnormalities of programmed death 1/programmed death ligand 1 (PD-1/PD-L1) signaling pathway in a variety of solid tumor tissues and cells are related to disease progression and poor prognosis, and directly involve in tumor immune escape, becoming the recent focus. With the further research, PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway in blood diseases, for example, in the development of lymphoma, is catching more attention gradually. The signaling pathway not only is associated significantly with malignancy, progression, recurrence of lymphoma and prognosis of patients, but probably becomes a new target for cancer immunotherapy. This paper summarizes the expression and research status of the biological characteristics and mechanism of PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway in lymphoma, in order to provide a new way for lymphoma treatment.

The P2X7 receptor (P2X7 R)is a nonselective cation channel activated by extracellular ATP,and it may trigger the se-cretion of several proinflammatory substances, such as IL-1β, IL-18,TNF-α,and nitric oxide.Several preclinical studies have demonstrated that this receptor participates in inflammation and pain mechanisms, and compounds that modulate the function of this receptor show potential as new anti-inflammatory medicines. Therefore,P2X7 receptors play particularly important physiologi-cal roles and have potential clinical application in inflammation and pain, which proves it a therapeutic target for pain manage-ment.

Objective To observe the effects of angiotensin Ⅱ( Ang Ⅱ) blockade on renal function, renal blood flow and renal oxygen consumption in chronic renal failure ( CRF) rats induced by 5/6th kidney ablation /infarction (5/6A/I).Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:the normal group (group A, n =14), mod-el group (group B, n=14) and angiotensin II blockade (Cozaar with Monopril) treatment group (group C, n =14).The chronic renal failure ( CRF) rat models were induced by 5/6th kidney ablation/infarction.The tail artery systolic pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and tail vein serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), hemoglobin ( Hb) and creatinine clearance rate ( Ccr) were assessed before and after intervention. The course of treatment was sixty days. The renal blood flow ( RBF) , blood gas analysis of abdominal aortic and renal vein, left renal vein pressure ( RV-pO2 ) were detected and remnant renal oxygen consumption ( QO2/TNa ) was calculated, and the pathological changes of remnant kidney were observed after the 60 d intervention. Results (1) Compared with the group A, the levels of Scr, BUN and tail artery SBP, DBP were significantly increased ( P<0.01 for all) , and the levels of Ccr and Hb were signifi-cantly decreased ( P<0.01) in the groups B and C, demonstrating the successful modeling.(2) Compared with the group B, the levels of Scr, tail artery SBP, DBP and QO2/TNa were significantly decreased (P<0.01 for all), the levels of BUN were decreased (P<0.05), the levels of Hb, Ccr and RVpO2 were significantly increased (P<0.01 for all), the level of RBF was increased ( P<0.05) in the group C after intervention.(3) The histopathological examination of the remnant re-nal tissue showed that the pathological changes in the group C were apparently reduced, better than those of the Group B. Conclusions Angiotensin II blockade can increase RBF, reduce renal oxygen consumption, improve renal function, and reduce the renal pathological changes in CRF rats. The mechanism of renal protection may be related to the regulation of cellular energy metabolism and improvement of renal oxygen consumption.

Objective To evaluate the short-term and mid-to-long-term clinical effectiveness of endovascular isolation technique with covered-stent in treating Stanford type B aortic dissection. Methods A total of 183 patients with Stanford type B aortic dissection, who were admitted to authors’ hospital during the period from January 2005 to December 2013 to receive endovascular isolation treatment with covered-stent under general anaethesia, were enrolled in this study. The clinical data, including post-operative symptoms, complications, retention time in ICU, hospitalization days, 30-day mortality, etc. were retrospectively analyzed. After discharged from hospital, the patients were followed up to check the situation, position and shape of the stent, the diameter of dissection false lumen, the internal leakage, etc. The survival rate and the quality of life were determined. Results Endovascular isolation procedure with covered-stent was successfully accomplished in all the 183 cases. The retention time in ICU was (3.08 ± 1.93) days, the mean hospitalization time was (3.08 ± 1.93) days, and the 30-day mortality was 1.09%. After discharged from hospital, the patients were followed up regularly, and no collapse or displacement of stent was observed, and the stent remained in its normal shape. No recurrence of dissection, rupture or reversal tear was observed. No long existing internal leakage could be detected. During the follow-up period 4 patients died, among them three died from cerebral infarction and one died of natural death. The 5-year survival rate was 97.82% and the patient’s quality of life did not become apparently worse. Conclusion For the treatment of Stanford type B aortic dissection, endovascular isolation therapy with covered-stent has excellent short-term effect and stable mid-to-long-term result.
