Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a group of chronic inflammatory diseases of the intestine mediated by abnormal immunological mechanism caused by multiple etiological factors.The main treatment at present is anti-inflammation and immunosuppression,but with severe side effects and poor efficacy.Vitamin D3 has immunoregulatory,anti-inflammatory,and antineoplastic functions.Vitamin D,as a novel immunoregulator,may provide a new treatment option for patients with IBD.This article will review the research progress on the following four aspects:the relationship of vitamin D with innate immunity,adaptive immunity,and pathogenesis of IBD,and vitamin D supplement in IBD patients.

WHO has issued three editions of pathologic classification of bladder urothelial carcinoma in 1973,1999 and 2004.The 1973 version classification had been widely and the longest applied.However,WHO 2004 classification had been prevalent in past years.There were two issues in the applications of WHO 2004 classification.On one hand,there were some difficulties in quick grading in a given case.On the other hand,there were some misunderstandings in the conversion of different WHO classification.In this article,the changes of different pathologic classification of bladder urothelial carcinoma were reviewed and the outline of different pathologic classification was generalized.The criterion of all the systems was cell anaplasia.In WHO 1973 version classification,the definition of the various grades was vague.It was relatively precise in WHO 1999 classification.However,the grading of Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ in WHO 1999 classification still remained confusions.The major changes in WHO 2004 classification was that this system divided urothelial carcinoma into low-and high-grade,which may solve the heterogenesis of grade Ⅱ in the other two classifications.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of hypertension and its related factors in Hulunbeier Mongolian region. Method A stratified multistage sampling was used to select residents aged 18 and over in a town of Hulunbeier region. 453 persons served as subjects for this questionnaire survey. Their blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference were measured and body mass index (BMI) were calculated. Then an analysis of the prevalence of hypertension and its related risk factors were performed. Results The hypertension prevalence rate was 34.5%, the standardized rate was 45.4%, and the prevalence in men (48.9%) was significantly higher than that in women (25.4%) (P50 (OR=11.312, 95%CI 4.309~22.132), BMI (2.255, 1.180~4.311), gender (OR=2.788, 1.461~5.323) and drinking (2.306, 1.287~4.134) were significantly related to hypertension. Conclusion The standardized prevalence of hypertension in Hulunbeier Mongolian region is higher than the average prevalence in China, 2002. Old age, abdominal obesity, overweight or obesity, male and alcohol drinking were the main risk factors for hypertension in this region. The government and the health sector should strengthen the health education of healthy lifestyle and health promotion and the control.

This study examined the roles of HLA-G in the pathogenesis, development and immune tolerance of hemangioma. From 2000 to 2007, 52 paraffin-embedded specimens (26 from males and 26 from females) of skin capillary hemangioma and 7 samples of adjacent normal skin tissues were collected. Four fresh specimens of hemangioma were also harvested. All samples were HE-stained and proliferative cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) was immunohistochemically detected by using SP method. The samples were classified into proliferative group and degenerative group according to the Mulliken criteria and the expression pattern of PCNA. SP method and quantum dots double staining were applied to detect the expression of HLA-G and PCNA in hemangioma and normal tissue samples. The expression of HLA-G was detected by RT-PCR. The results showed that among the 52 samples of hemangioma, 29 were of proliferative type and 23 degenerative type, and of the four fresh samples of hemangioma, 2 were of proliferative type and 2 degenerative type. SP method results showed that HLA-G was expressed in both proliferative and degenerative hemangioma, but not in normal tissues. The quantum dots double staining exhibited that HLA-G expression was significantly higher in proliferative group than in degenerative (P<0.05) and normal groups (P<0.05), but there was no statistically significant difference between the latter two groups (P>0.05). RT-PCR revealed that HLA-G was transcribed in both the proliferative and degenerative hemangioma tissues, but not in normal tissues. We are led to conclude that the elevated expression of HLA-G in proliferative hemangioma cells may lead to immune tolerance, which allows cells to escape immune surveillance and proliferate. On the other hand, the lower expression of HLA-G in degenerative hemangioma may result in immune cells-induced degeneration of hemangioma.

This article explores the anatomical structure, functional characteristics, experimental study andclinical application of point Weiwanxiashu in order to provide a theoretical and experimental basis for clinical acupuncture point selection and treatment of diabetes.

Objective To evaluate the influence of tetrahydrobiopterin on NO and MDA concentration and SOD activity as well as the myocardial infarction area. Methods Twenty-four rabbits were divided into three groups randomly: control group,MI/R group and BH 4 group. After occlusion of the left anterior descending coronary artery of a rabbit for 60 minutes followed by 90 minutes of reperfusion (ischemia/reperfusion),NO and MDA and SOD concentrations were measured and the myocardial infarction area was caculated. Results Compared with control group,the NO concentration in MI/R group was markedly decreased [(28?10) ?mol/L vs (116?17) ?mol/L,P 0.05];There was significant difference between MI/R and BH 4 groups in infarction area,too. Objective To discuss the feasibility,indications,surgical techniques,and outcome con- cerning the application of less invasive stabilization system (LISS) for complex proximal femoral fractures.Methods We treated 12 complex proximal femoral fractures using femoral LISS reversely from June 2005 to May 2006. They were five complex intertrochanteric fractures and seven subtrochanteric ones.By AO classification,two were type 31-A2.2,two type 31-A2.3,one type 31-A3.3,one type 32-A3.1,three type 32-B1.1,one type 32-B2.1, and two type 32-B3.I.The patients were treated with closed or indirect reduction and fixation with percutaneous LISS plate reversely.Results There were no major postoperative complications in this study.The mean operation time was 65 minutes (range,50 to 90 minutes),the mean intra-operative blood loss was 142 milliliters (range,50 to 400 milliliters),and the mean postoperative hospital stay was 9.3 days (range,6 to 15 days).All patients had a clinical follow-up;the mean follow-up time was 7.2 months (range,3 to 14 months).Ten cases healed clinically three months postoperatively,one periprosthetic fracture healed four months and one pathological fracture healed six months after operation.At the final radiographic follow-up,no collapse,varus deformity,cutting-out,hardware failure,or avascular necrosis was found.Conclusions Femoral LISS used reversely can provide secure fixation for proximal femoral fractures biomechanically and anatomically.It is also easy and safe.It is particularly suitable for old patients with intertrochanteric fractures complicated with disorders of internal organs and severe osteoporosis or patients with complex proximal femoral fractures.It is important to be skillful in indirect reduction and positioning of guide wire into hole A,and to avoid immediate weight-bearing postoperatively.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is the most serious post-disaster physical and mental barrier, and intellectual disabilities are more sensitive to the negative effects caused by trauma than the healthy population. The debate existing extensively makes the diagnosis of PTSD in patients with intellectual disability difficult to be understood. There is a need to use uniform diagnostic criteria, howere, it still remains a problem for less experienced clinicians.
