1.The serum viscosity in Vietnam people
Pharmaceutical Journal 2002;318(10):56-58
The evaluation of serum viscosity contributes to the diagnosis of some hematopathology, cardiopathology. A study on 303 healthy persons with ages of 18-81 in Hanoi was carried out to determine the Vietnamese serum viscosity. The results have shown that the serum viscosity found in the normal people was 9.180.47 (1.52-2.45). There is no significant different of the serum viscosity between men and women. The serum viscosity is gradually increased as increased age.

2.Production of serum against neurotoxin alpha from NAJA KAOUTHIA.
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2002;12(1):17-23
Lethal component of the Naja kaouthia venom had been purified and used as antigen for producing antiserum according to an immunization protocol aiming to be efficient in the production of high affinity antibodies. A strong response was observed on all six immunized horses and tolerance to the antigen did not occur. All antitoxin sera obtained protected against lethality due to the entire venom. The potential production of these six horses is estimated to 4,300 doses/year compared to the estimated national need of 4,800 doses/year for a population of 80 millions.

3.Serum T3, FT4, TSH concentration in residents exposed to dacam/dioxin
Journal of Medical Research 2005;36(3):5-11
Orange agent/Dioxin is very toxic chemical. It has still exist and harmful affected on persons living in many areas of South VietNam since America chemical war. This study is aimed to evaluate the effects of Dioxin residue on changes of serum FT 4, T3, TSH in 318 persons exposed to the toxic. RIA and IMA assays were used to measure serum concentrations of the hormones. The results of the hormones from persons exposed to Dioxin were: 1. Serum concentration of FT4 is 9 to 25 pmol/L and significant lower in comparison with those of control group living in Hanoi. Serum concentration of T3 is 1 to 3 nmol/L and not significant lower in comparison with those of control group living in Hanoi. Serum concentration of TSH is 0,25 - 5 mUlL and not significant higher in comparison with those of control group living in Hanoi. 2. There are significant differences in serum FT4, T3. TSH concentrations between communes sprayed Dioxin in the war. 3. Abnomal ratios of serum FT4, T3, TSH concentrations of persons exposed to Orange agent/Dioxin are higher than those of control persons living in Hanoi.

4.The concentration of serum calcitonin in the normal people (the quantitative analysis by the immunoradioactive method)
Journal of Practical Medicine 2001;394(2):13-15
The quantitative analysis of the concentration of serum calcitonin was carried out in 29 normal people with ages of 18-50. The results: this is a method with the high confidence; the average concentration of serum calcitonin is 5,74 Pg/ml; the minimal concentration at 0,00 commonly found, the maximal concentration is 22,6 Pg/ml; the distribution was not same as the rule of Gauss so the medial figure was 4,98pg/ml as preparesentative; there is no different of this concentration between male and female.

7.Production of shigella antisera for diagnosis at IVAC
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2003;13(6):54-57
4 groups of antiserum were met the inquiry to make strongest immunized response and to produce most antibody against Sh.flexneri. Produced antiserum has a high specificity and a possible identificity to detect correspond antigene. It met the physical criteria, having good sterility, specificity and sensitivity. The preparation was stable after 24 months follow up. It can be used to differentiate the subgroups of Shigella

8.The effect of antipyocyanic bacteria serum in topic treatment infected burn wounds in children
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;469(12):43-45
21 children aged 1-15 suffering from 10-25% body surface burn infected with pyocyanic bacteria were treated at the National Institute of Burn from April to October 2002. Burn lesions were divided into 2 zones with similar superficilit and depht. On the zone A, antipyocyanic serum was applied, and zone B, silver sulfadiazine 1% (SSD1%). Results showed that entipyocyanic serum had got the effects of secreting reduce, anti inflammation and deodorizing and decolorizing of the burn, stimulating the epithelial processing, reducing the pyocyanic bacterial infection frequency from 100% in the first examination to 7.14% in the 3rd examination and the count of pyocyanic bacteria from 22.12 0.07 x 104 to 2.44 0.01 x 104. The duration of treatment in shallow burn of II, III grade (7.2 0.6 days versus 8.5 0.2 days) and in deep burn of III grade (14.5 0.7 days versus 16.5 0.6 days)

9.Surveillance of glycohemoglobin HbA1c and the relationship HbA1c/blood – glucose/serum in normal persons and diabetes
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;296(3):45-51
42 healthy persons and 52 diabetic patients were measured to clarify the blood HbA1c and serum glucose level simultaneously, using low pressure cation exchange chromatography and colormetric enzyme method. The results: the mean value of blood HbA1c is 5.130.53% (4.1-6.2%). The mean value of blood HbA1c in diabetic patients are higher than that of normal persons; the fluctuate from 5.9 to 12.5%. Positive correlation between blood HbA1c and serum plucose in normal persons has been indicated in the investigated subjects, characterized by the following equation: Y = 0.39 X +3.01; r=0.3632. These correlation in diabetic patients has been indicated and characterized by the following equation: Y =0.98 X + 1.99; r=+0.5891 (in which: X= blood HbA1c , Y = serum glucose level)

10.Situation Dengue fever/Dengue haemorrhagic fever in Ha Noi, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An provinces, 1996 - 2001
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;300(7):17-21
Serum samples from patients with Dengue hemorrhagic fever were collected at the hospitals of Hanoi,Namdinh,Thanhhoa and NgheAn in 1995-2001 year period were investigated. The number of suspected patients with Dengue hemorrhagic fever was varied during the years, the highest in the year 1995, 1998, then decreased progressively to 2001. In 2 years of 1995-1996 period and 1998-2001 period 4 types of epidemiologic virus were found. The highest number of isolated samples was 54 in the year 1996, then1998. The endemic types varied obviously by years
