Trauma is a great global health challenge as a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated 9% of worldwide deaths are due to trauma and 100 million people are temporarily or permanently disabled every year. Objective: To estimate the prevalence of psychological distress among people who underwent orthopedic trauma and infer the association between orthopedic trauma and psychological distress to assess the socio-demographic determinants of trauma and the consequent psychological distress.
