Objective To test the reliability and validity of the collective self-esteem scale for freshman.Methods 800 freshmen finished the Collective Self-Esteem Scale,the Life Satisfaction Scale,and Self-esteem Scale.Results The confirmatory factor analysis shows that collective esteem includes membership esteem,private collective esteem,public collective esteem,and importance to identiy intemal consistency a of the scale and the 4 components of the scale ale between0.6357and 0.8369.All components of the scale except importance to identity have significantly positive correlation with life satisfaction and self-esteem.(0.14＜r＜0.41,P＜0.01).Gids have more scores than boys in total collective esteem(t=3.38,P＜0.01),Private CSE and Importance to Identity (t=3.32,P＜0.01).Conclusion The revised collective self-esteem scale for freshmen has sound reliability and validity.It is a good instrument for measuring collective self-esteem of Chinese freshman.

Recently more and more ophthalmologists selected a multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) for their cataract patient in order to get good unaided reading vision. Although the design of IOL have made a great progress, we are still dissatisfied compared with our natural crystal lens. Understanding the design theory and improving our surgery technique are basic for better utilization the multifocal IOL. Does the multifocal IOL reduce contrast sensitivity? Should we implant the multifocal IOL in pediatric cataract surgery? How can we deal with the residual refractive error after multifocal IOL implantation? In this editorial, we try to clarify these problems to make us select and use multifocal IOL better.

Objective To evaluate and screen the concentration and coordination degree of the opinions of the experts in TCM pediatrics on the preventive method of Practice Guidelines to Prevent Disease for Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infections in Children Prevented by Sachet-Therapy;To formulate scientific and practical methods for perfume pouch wearing in this book. Methods Delphi method was applied to this research. All questionnaires were designed based on the literature research and distributed to more than 30 experts for 3 rounds. And the results in the first two rounds of survey were analyzed. Results Totally 31 and 33 valid questionnaires were received in the first and second time respectively. The experts’ activity index was 88.6% and 93.4% respectively. The perfume pouch wearing methods of Practice Guidelines to Prevent Disease for Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infections in Children Prevented by Sachet-Therapy was set down. And most of the experts shared a positive view on the concentration and coordination degree of this book. Conclusion The experts’ opinions upon this draft are quite positive. This study was aimed to discuss the distribution and protein expression level ofμ-opioid receptor (MOR) in hippocampus of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) liver-qi stagnation rat model, in order to initially reveal the action mechanism of PMS liver-qi stagnation and intervention effect ofShu-Yu (SY) capsule. Chronic restraint stress method was used to copy PMS liver-qi stagnation rat model.SY capsule ofTiao-Gan prescription was given as intervention. Immunofluorescence (IF) and western blot (WB) technique were used to detect MOR in hippocampal CA1 and CA3 brain area of rats from each group. The results showed that compared with the normal group, the hippocampus MOR distribution arrangement was messy with increased protein concentration in the model group (P< 0.01). After drug intervention, the MOR protein level returned to normal level. It was concluded that the pathogenesis of PMS liver-qi stagnation may be associated with high expression of MOR in hippocampus CA1 and CA3 region of rats. SY capsule can effectively correct and restore it to nearly normal level. It may be one of the central mechanisms in SY capsule treatment of PMS liver-qi stagnation.

Objective To investigate the status of undergraduate nursing faculty's structural empowerment and job satisfaction and to analyze the correlation between themn.Methods Totally 246 nursing teachers were investigated with Conditions for Work Effectiveness Questionnaire Ⅱ and Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire.The correlation between structural empowerment and job satisfaction were analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis.Results Undergraduate nursing faculty's total score was (3.04±0.57) points,and score of job satisfaction was (2.93±0.59) points,both of which were at moderate level.Structural empowerment was positively correlated with job satisfaction (r=0.450-0.714,P＜0.01),the higher structural empowerment level,the higher job satisfaction.Conclusions Undergraduate nursing managers can improve nursing teachers' job satisfaction by strengthening the empowerment to nursing teachers,in order to enhance the teaching quality.

Abstract To evaluate the bioavailability of selenium (Se) in Se-yeast to residents with low-Se status, fifty-two youth in a Keshan disease area were randomly divided into three groups, and they were given orally 200 ?g Se daily as So-yeast or sodium selenite, or ordinary yeast for 12 weeks, respectively. Se contents and activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSHpx) in blood were measured at wk 4 and 8 of supplements and 8wk alter the supplements were discontinued. The results show that: 1. the retention of Se in either plasma or erythrocyte is sigificantly higher in Se-yeast than in sodiurn selenite; 2 the effect of Se in Se-yeast is superior to that of sodium selenite for maintaining GSHpx activities; and 3. the relative bioavailabilities of Se in Se-yeast are 556% and 178% when using erythrocyte and plasma Se contents as the response critria, as well as 158% and 116% when estimated by platelet and plasma GSHpx activities. The results indicate that the bioavailability of Se to the residents in a low-Se Keshan disease area is greater when supplemented Se-yeast than selenite.

Objective To evaluate the effects of traditional Chinese medicine likeDansen and western medicine in treating traumatic brain edema (TBE). Methods A total of 130 Wistar rats were divided randomly into six groups: Group A (normal contrast group), Group B (operation group), Group C (western medicine treatment group, WM group), Group D (western medicine and salvia injection), Group E (western medicine and Honghua injection) and Group F (western medicine and Sanqi injection). The model of brain edema was established by liquid nitrogen treatment to assay whole blood viscosity, water content and Even blues (EB) in brain tissues and to observe the content and pathologic changes of endothlin (ET) in plasma.
