Objective To investigate the role of bone metabolic indices in the diagnosis and monitoring of therapeutic effects in osteoporosis, the serum tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase form 5b(TRACP5b) level and other parameters such as Dpd in urine of osteoporosis animal model (ovariotomy rats) in different timing point were measured and analyzed. Methods Eighty female SD rats were divided into five groups and had ovariotomy operation (one group was pseudo-operated). Drug treatment began at the third day after the operation. Six rats in each group were sacrificed after 4 weeks and 14 weeks respectively, the bone metabolic indices were measured and bone histomorphometric data were collected. Results Four weeks after operation, the Dpd/Cr and TRACP5b in ovariotomy group were significantly higher than those in the pseudo-operated group, and TRACP5b was still higher after 14 weeks. In the drug treatment groups, serum E2 level was not changed 4 weeks later, however, Dpd/Cr and TRACP5b had changed greatly. After 14 weeks of drug treatment, there was only a significant decrease of TRACP5b among the bone resorption parameters, but other indices had no change.Bone histomorphometric data showed that the bone volume was improved in each drug treatment group. Conclusions Serum TRACP5b level can reflect the activitiy of osteoclasts and the situation of osteoporosis either in the early stage (high turnover period) or in later stage (low turnover period) of osteoporosis. The drugs used in this experiment can inhibit the ostoclast activity and reduce the level of bone resorption parameters, especially the TRACP5b level. Bone histomorphometric results suggestes that the function and manners of different drugs vary in improving of bone volume.

Objective:To explore the serotype distribution and drug resistance of Shigella in stool samples of children under five years old with diarrhea from 2008 to 2017 in Sui County, Henan Province. Methods:A total of 4 721 stool samples of children under five years old with diarrhea were collected from Doufuyuan Clinic of Sui County during 2008 to 2017, and Shigella strains were isolated through bacterial culture. The slide agglutination test was used for serotyping of Shigella strains. Two hundred of seventy-one Shigella strains were selected in proportion, and multiple gradient polymerase chain reaction was used to detect virulence genes and Kirby-Bauer agar method was used for drug sensitivity. Trend chi square test was used to analyze the annual trend of drug resistance. Results:The detection rate of Shigella strains in 4 721 fecal samples was 20.69% (977/4 721). A total of 977 Shigella strains were divided into 13 serotypes in two groups, including 77.79%(760/977) Shigella flexneri strains and 22.21%(217/977) Shigella sonnei strains. The top three serotypes detected alternately every year. The dominant gene pattern of Shigella flexneri was Shigella enterotoxin ( shET)-1+ , shET-2+ , invasion plasmid antigen H ( ipaH)+ , invasion-associated locus ( ial)+ , accounted for 84.04%(179/213) and that of Shigella sonnei was shET-1-, shET-2+ , ipaH+ , ial+ , accounted for 46.55%(27/58). The drug resistance rates of 271 Shigella strains to ampicillin, nalidixic acid and tetracycline were more than 90% and the strains were more sensitive to cefepime and ceftazidime. The drug resistance rates to cefotaxime, cefepime, ciprofloxacin, chloramphenicol and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim increased year by year, and all had statistically significant differences ( χ2=24.027, 7.232, 6.039, 4.764 and 6.809, respectively, all P< 0.05). There were 98.52%(267/271) strains resistant to more than three kinds of drugs. The resistance rates of Shigella flexneri to ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, and chloramphenicol were higher than those of Shigella sonnei, and the resistance rates to gentamicin and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim were lower than those of Shigella sonnei. The differences were statistically significant ( χ2=31.866, 14.868, 83.036, 68.534 and 14.738, respectively, all P<0.01). Conclusions:The major serotypes of Shigella in children under five years old in Sui County are constantly changing from 2008 to 2017. The dominant gene patterns of different serotypes are different. Most isolated strains have multiple drug resistances, and different serotypes have different resistance profiles.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(9):1294-1298
Objective:
To investigate the prevalence of Internet addiction and depression of students, and to analyze the co-occurrence and trend, so as to provide a theoretical basis for prevention and controlling measures of Internet addiction and depression.
Methods:
A total of 6 317,7 152,81 808,71 180 and 89 932 students aged 10 to 24 years from 12 leagues (103 banners) in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were selected by stratified random cluster sampling in September each year from 2017 to 2021. The Internet Addiction Scale and the Central for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale(CES-D) was used to measure Internet addiction and depression. And the annual inspection rate, group difference and annual change trend in students were calculated. Multivariate linear regression and restricted cubic spline analysis were used to estimate the linear and non linear associations between Internet addiction and depression in students.
Results:
The Internet addiction proportion in students gradually decreased from 4.1% in 2017 to 2.1% in 2020, but increased to 3.9% in 2021. And the depressive symptoms proportion increased from 20.9% in 2017 to 28.0% in 2020 and 27.0% in 2021. The detection rate of Internet addiction and depression comorbidities remained at 1.8% to 2.5 %. The Internet addiction proportion in boys was higher than that in girls( χ 2=42.82, P <0.05). The depressive symptoms prevalence in girls was higher than that in boys( χ 2= 553.90, P <0.05). Taking reversal in prevalence of Internet addiction in urban and rural areas was observed in 2019. The detection rates of depressive symptoms and comorbidity were higher in urban areas than these in suburban counties on the whole, and the difference showed a trend of decreasing or even equalizing year by year. Internet addiction was positively correlated with depressive symptoms score ( B=1.67, 95%CI =1.64-1.71), the proportion of depressive symptoms ( OR=1.39, 95%CI =1.38-1.41) and the proportion of major depressive symptoms ( OR=1.35, 95%CI =1.33-1.36) among students in 2021 ( P <0.05). An N-shaped curve was found in the significant nonlinear associations between internet addiction and depression across sex, region and school stage.
Conclusion
Internet addiction and depression in students show significant linear and non-linear associations, which are consistent in different sexes, regions and school stages. Therefore, relevant measures should be made and implemented in each region, especially in suburb areas, so as to prevent the increasingly development of adolescents and children s Internet addiction and depression.

Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2024;43(1):39-44
Objective:To investigate the efficacy, feasibility, and safety of task-oriented exercise training for hospitalized elderly diabetic patients. Methods:This study is a parallel randomized controlled trial with a positive control and a single-blinded assessor. From July 2020 to July 2021, we included 84 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes who were hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology at Beijing Hospital. These patients were randomly divided into two groups: the task-oriented exercise training group(TOE group)and the regular exercise training group(regular group). The TOE group participants were trained using a task-oriented exercise program that was specifically developed by our research team.On the other hand, the regular group participants were trained using a classical program that comprised of all exercise modes. Each subject received individualized exercise training for 10 consecutive days while staying in the hospital. We evaluated the efficacy, feasibility, and safety of the training programs by measuring the physical fitness of the participants, assessing the feasibility of the program, and monitoring any exercise-related adverse events that occurred. Results:A total of 79 subjects completed the entire intervention and follow-up period, with 40 subjects in the TOE group and 39 subjects in the regular group. In terms of efficacy, both groups showed improvement in their physical fitness indexes after the intervention, with no significant differences in the degree of improvement between the two groups(all P>0.05). When considering feasibility, the TOE group had a higher proportion of prospective feasibility at 87.5%(35 out of 40)compared to the regular group at 71.8%(28 out of 39). Similarly, the TOE group had a higher proportion of practical feasibility at 75.0%(30 out of 40)compared to the regular group at 53.8%(21 out of 39). The TOE group showed a significant advantage in practical feasibility between the two groups( χ2=3.862, P=0.049). As for safety, there were no exercise-related adverse events during the intervention in either group. Conclusions:The efficacy and safety of the task-oriented exercise program for hospitalized elderly diabetic patients is comparable to that of the regular program.Additionally, the task-oriented program is more feasible than the regular program.
