Objective To study the detection of pathogens and drug resistance in the patients with diabetes mellitus associated urinary tract infection. Methods The clinical data of 256 patients with diabetes mellitus associated urinary tract infection were analyzed retrospectively,and the pathogens and drug resistance of all the patients were studied and analyzed. Results The 230 isolates out of 256 patients were detected,escherichia coli was 116 isolates,pseudomonas aeruginosa was 24 isolates,klebsiella pneumonia was 22 isolates,enterococcus faecalis was 20 isolates,proteus was 19 isolates,aureus was 17 isolates,other was 12 isolates,drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria for the penicillins and cephalothin were strong(21.5% ～ 50. 0% ). Conclusion The drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria in the patients with diabetes mellitus associated urinary tract infection were various, drug resistance of common antibiotics is high.

Objective To explore the clinical value and significance of elastography technique used in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules .Methods The preoperative imaging data of pathologically confirmed 138 patients with thyroid nodules(160 nodules) were retrospectively analyzed .The imaging characteristics of routine preoperative ultra-sound and elastography were compared and the results were compared with the histopathological findings ,thus to eval-uate the clinical value of elastography in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules .Results Of 160 thyroid nodules in 138 pa-tients,129 nodules (80.63%) were histologically confirmed benign ,31 nodules (19.38%) were confirmed malig-nant.According to the elastic graph color grading standards of ultrasound elastography , in 129 benign nodules, 113 nodules (86.82%) were 0~Ⅱ grade,16 nodules(13.18%) wereⅢ~Ⅳ grade.Of 31 malignant nodules,4 nodules (12.90%) were 0~Ⅱgrade,27 nodules (87.10%) wereⅢ~Ⅳgrade.The diagnosis coincidence rate of conventional ultrasound was 66.25%,which was significantly lower than 87.50%of elastosonography (χ2 =20.32, P=0.000).The specificity,sensitivity,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of routine ultrasound were 61.29%,67.44%,87.88%,31.15%,which were significantly lower than those of ultrasound elastography (87.10%,87.60%,96.58%,62.79%)(χ2 =15.04,P=0.000;χ2 =5.39,P=0.022;χ2 =5.92,P=0.019;χ2 =10.24,P=0.001).Conclusion Compared with conventional ultrasound ,ultrasound elastography technique has ob-vious advantages in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules ,which has very important clini-cal value and should be popularized and applied in clinical diagnosis .

Methods The serum TSH levels of 213 pregnant women and the umbilical cord blood TSH levels of their newborns (140 cases from normal vaginal delivery, 38 cases from cesarean section, 35 cases from low forceps delivery) were tested by immunoradiometric assay. Aim The effect of polysaccharide of spirulina on mouse myelosuppression induced by cyclophosphamide was studied. Methods Mice in the model, treatment groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ were given cyclophosphamide(ip 100 mg · kg- 1) for there days. At the same time mice in the treatment groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ were given ig spirulin 30 mg · kg-1 and 60 mg · kg-1 for ten days, while mice in the control group and model group were given ip 20 mg · kg-1 of NS. Peripheral blood and marrow cytometry, micromcelsus and chromosome aberration were analyed. Results In the dosages of 30 and 60 mg · kg-1 polysaccharide of spirulina, the polysaccharide of spirulina had perfect action on the perihemateikon and the function of bone hematoplast induced by cyclophosphamide(P ＜0.01) and antagonistic action on increase of bone cell micronuclsus(P＜0.05); The ratio of chromosome aberration in the treated group was lower compared with that in the model group. The inhibitory ratio was 51.2% and 62.5% in the treated groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ .Conclusion Polysaccharide of spirulina can perfect the hematoplast function of mice injured by cyclophosphamide.

Objective To study the emmetropization in guinea pig eyes during the normal development from birth in order to provide theoretical basis to use guinea pigs as model for research on near-sightedness.Methods Sixty-four guinea pigs were assigned to 8 groups (n=8,4 male/4 female).Each group underwent a series of ocular examinations at one of the 8 time-points (0,1,2,3,5,7,9 and 11 weeks),including refraction(R),radius of corneal curvature (RCC),depth of anterior segment(AS),thickness of crystalline lens (CL),length of vitreous chamber (VC)and axial length (AL).Pooled results from both eyes of the same animals with mixed sexes can be used for further assessment of the emmetropization with the associated biometrical changes of the eye.Correlations were made between RCC,AS,CL,VC,AL and R. Results There were no significant differences between the right eye and left eye or between male and female in results of all the examinations. The refraction at birth was (+5.25?0.22 )D in guinea pigs.This value rapidly decreased during the first 3 weeks,approaching(+1.34?0.61) D by 11 weeks.There was no significant difference in refraction between 9 and 11 weeks (P= 0.215). This study was aimed to investigate renal protective effects and mechanism of Gui-Zhi(GZ) decoction in hyperuricemic mice.Potassium oxonate was used to induce hyperuricemia mouse model.Mice were randomly divided into 6 groups,which were the blank control group,model group,allopurinol group (5 mg·kg-1) and GZ decoction group (900,1 799 and 3 598 mg·kg-1).Hematoxylin eosin staining was used to observe the histopathological changes of renal tissues in mice.Commercial assay kits were used to measure levels of uric acid (UA),creatinine (Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) in serum and urine,as well as the xanthine oxidase (XOD) activity in liver.Renal protein levels of urate transporter 1 (URAT1),glucose transporter 9 (GLUT9),ATP-binding cassette G member 2 (ABCG2),organic cation transporter 1 (OCT1),OCT2,organic cation/carnitine transporter 1 (OCTN1) and OCTN2 were detected by western blot.The results showed that compared with the model group,GZ decoction can obviously decrease serum levels of UA,Cr and BUN,increase urine levels of UA and Cr,resulting in the elevation of fractional excretion of UA in hyperuricemic mice.Additionally,GZ decoction obviously inhibited hepatic XOD activity in hyperuricemic mice.Furthermore,GZ decoction downregulated renal URAT1 and GLUT9 protein levels,upregulated renal ABCG2,as well as OCT1,OCT2,OCTN1 and OCTN2 protein levels in hyperuricemic mice.It was concluded that GZ decoction had hypouricemic and renal protective effects in hyperuricemic mice,which might be associated with the reduction of UA production via inhibiting hepatic XOD activity,promoting UA and other organic ion excretion via regulating renal organic ion transporter protein levels.

Objective To examine the expression of CD9 protein in pancreatic cancer tissues and adjacent tissues,and to analyze its relation with the progress and prognosis of pancreatic cancer.Methods From September 2005 to December 2009,surgical resected cancer tissues and adjacent tissues of 90 patients with pancreatic cancer and their clinical data were collected.The expression of CD9 protein in pancreatic cancer tissues and adjacent tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry,and its relationship with clinicopathological features was analyzed.Chi-square test was performed for comparison of ratios between groups.Overall survival (OS) analysis of 90 patients after surgery was performed.Results The high expression rate of CD9 protein (64.4％,58/90) in cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in cancer adjacent tissue (45.6％,41/90),the difference has statistically significant (χ2 =6.847,P＜0.05).CD9 protein was highly expressed in most of pancreatic cancer tissue which was well differentiated or without lymph node metastasis (74.6％ (50/67) vs 39.1％ (9/23),χz =9.554,P＜0.01; 50.0％(17/34) vs 73.2％(41/56),χ2 =5.856,P＜0.05 respectively).However,the expression of CD9 was not correlated with gender and age (both P＞0.05).OS and progression-free survival (PFS) of the patients with CD9 highly expressed were significantly longer than those with low expression of CD9 (median OS:33.0 months vs 7.0 months,χ2 =15.400 P＜0.01.Median PFS:30.5 months vs 5.0 months,χ2 =13.750,P＜0.01).Conclusion CD9 protein is a kind of protein related with the invasive ability of pancreatic cancer,which may play a role in progression and metastasis of pancreatic cancer and can help to determine the prognosis to a certain extent.

Objective To develop an information gathering soft-ware platform for spleen system inquiry of TCM, and to discuss the practicability and feasibility of applying computer technology to standardizing management of TCM inquiry data. Methods Based on the TCM Spleen System Inquiry Scale, combined with clinical practice of TCM diagnosis and treatment, an inquiry information gathering soft-ware platform for TCM spleen system was designed. The platform was interfaced with B/S structure, and in the use of computer programming languages, the platform possessed the good functions of data collection, storage, query, export and print, etc. In addition to this, by calling the correct algorithm, it contents users with analysis and statistics on the target data set. Results The platform designed has been initially equipped with the functions of collecting, storing, inquiry, deleting, modifying, exporting and printing the inquiry-based four diagnostic data for TCM spleen system diseases. And to some extent, it also achieves standardization and objectification of the collection of TCM Spleen System Inquiry Scale. Conclusion It is practicable and feasible to applying computer technology into standardizing management of TCM inquiry informations. Besides, it could act as the direction for the research of TCM four diagnostic data in the future.

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of combining neuromuscular joint facilitation (NJF) with floating needle treatment in treating stroke survivors with painful shoulder subluxation.Methods:Thirty-nine stroke survivors with painful shoulder subluxation were randomly divided into an NJF group, a floating needle group and a combination group, each of 13. In addition to the basic treatment for shoulder subluxation and pain (including positioning, physiotherapy, active and passive motor function training, progressive training of the upper limbs, and using shoulder pads to protect the affected shoulders when standing or walking), the 3 groups were also given NJF, floating needle therapy or both as their group names imply six days per week for 4 weeks. Shoulder subluxation was evaluated using ultrasonography to measure the acromion-greater tuberosity distance (AGT). Pain was self-reported using a visual analogue scale. And the Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) was applied to quantify the treatments′ efficacy.Results:Before the treatment, no significant differences were found among the 3 groups in terms of their average AGTs, pain ratings or FMA scores. Afterward, significant improvement was observed in all of the measurements in all 3 groups, with the combination group′s average results significantly better than those of the other two. The combination group′s overall effectiveness was 85%, significantly better than that of NJF group (54%) and the floating needle group (62%).Conclusions:Floating needle treatment combined with NJF and routine rehabilitation can significantly improve motor functioning and relieve the pain of shoulder subluxation after a stroke.
