The expression of human epidermal growth factor (hEGF) and hEGF receptor (hEGF-R) was examined by 125I-labeled-hEGF binding analysis in 21 cases of colonic carcinomas. No significant difference was found in the values of hEGF binding among carcinoma, paracarcino-ma regions and regions far away from carcinoma, but the values in all of them were higher than that in normal colonic tissues (P

Objective To investigate the effect of phenylhexyle isothiocyanate (PHI) on demethylation and activation of transcription gene p15 in acute leukemia cell line Molt-4. Methods DNA sequencing and modified methylation specific PCR (MSP) were used to screen p15-M and p15-U mRNA after Moh-4 cells were treated with PHI. P15 mRNA was measured by RT-PCR. Pl5 protein was detected by Western blotting. Results Hypermethylation of gene pl5 was apparently attenuated and activation of transcription p15 gene was de novo after 5 days exposure to PHI. PHI enhanced both the expression of p15 mRNA and p15 protein in a concentration-dependent manner. The ratio of the gray scale of p15 mRNA strap was 0.17±0.12 in control, 0.29±0.14 in PHI 10 μmol/L, 0.55±0.07 in PHI 20 μmol/L, 0.93±0.13 in PHI 40 μmol/L. Conclusion PHI could active demethylation and transcription of gene p15.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2001;0(05):-
Twelve healthysubjects and 71 diabetic patients, including 47 cases with diastolic heart failure (DHF), were enrolled into the study. Plasma atrial natiuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) were measured with immunoradiometric assay. The result showed that the plasma levels of ANP and BNP were significantly increased in accordance withthe severity of DHF. The ratio of E/A had significantly negative correlation with the plasma levels of BNP(r=-0.669,P

Objective: To determine the diagnostic value of the concentration of plasma BNP and ANP in patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus with diastolic heart failure(DHF). Methods:12 healthy subjects and 71 diabetic patients were selected into the study. Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) ,mitral annular early diastole (E) and late diastole (A) inflow velocities were measured with Doppler echocardiography .According to the result of ratio of E to A, the DHF patients were subdivided into DHF 1 group:0.8 ≤ E/A

Objective To study the change of diastolic cardiac function in diabetic patients and to determine the diagnostic value of plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and atria natriuretic peptide (ANP) for diastolic heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods Twelve healthy subjects and seventy-one diabetic patients were included in the study.Plasma BNP and ANP were measured with immunoradiometic assay. Results Plasma levels ofBNP andANP increased significantly with increased severity of diastolic heart dysfunction. The ratio of E/A had significant negative correlation with the plasma levels of BNP (r=0.669,P<0.001) and ANP (r=0.579,P<0.01).AUC of ANP and BNP in ROC model was 91.9% and 65.3%,respectively.Conclusions The plasma level of BNP might be a valuable predictor for differential diagnosis of diastolic cardiac function in diabetic patients.

Objective:To study the alteration of cardiac function in diabetic patients and evaluate the relationship between cardiac function and BNP. Methods:83 diabetic patients and 12 healthy subjects were selected into the study. Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) and mitral annular early diastole (E) and late diastole (A) inflow velocities were measured with echocardiography. Plasma BNP were measured with Immnoradiometic assay(IRMA)? Results:According to the result of the echocardiography, the diabetics who have no primary cardiac diseases were subdivided into normal cardiac function group( n =24,28.9%),diastolic dysfunction group( n =47,56.7%), systolic dysfunction group( n =6,7.2%), both diastolic and systolic dysfunction group( n =6,7.2%). More than half of diabetic patients have diastolic dysfunction. The plasma level of BNP had significant negative correlation with LVEF( r = -0.614, P

OBJECTIVETo detect free testosterone (FT) in the serum and semen of patients with idiopathic oligospermia, and further analyze the relationship between FT and idiopathic oligospermia.
METHODSBlood samples were collected from the males of a normal control group (n = 44) and an idiopathic oligospermia group (n = 44) at 8:00-10:00 a.m.. Semen samples were collected from the males of a normal control group (n = 30) and an idiopathic oligospermia group (n = 37) at the same time. Sperm density was detected by routine semen analysis, and FT in the serum and semen was detected by RIA.
RESULTSThere was no significant difference in the serum concentrations of FT between the groups of normal control [(97.50 +/- 46.96) pmol/L] and idiopathic oligospermia [(94.88 +/- 42.04) pmol/L], P > 0.5. But the difference was significant in the semen concentrations of FT between the groups of normal control [(2.01 +/- 0.32) pmol/L] and idiopathic oligospermia [(0.52 +/- 0.44) pmol/L], P < 0.01.
CONCLUSIONMeasurement of semen FT concentration could early reflect the function of the testis, which contributes to the early diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic oligospermia.

Objective:To investigate the clinical manifestation, diagnosis and treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients with renal involvement. Methods:The clinical data of a chronic lymphocytic leukemia patient with nephrotic syndrome as the initial manifestation in Fujian Provincial People's Hospital in October 2020 were retrospectively analyzed, and the related literature was reviewed. Results:The patient was a 68-year-old male with recurrent edema and foam urine as the initial manifestations, and he was diagnosed as nephrotic syndrome in the nephrology department. After treatment, the symptoms showed no significant improvement, and the lymphocyte count gradually increased. The patient was diagnosed as chronic lymphocytic leukemia in the hematology department. After ibrutinib monotherapy, the lymphocyte count and urine protein gradually decreased to normal levels, and the clinical efficacy evaluation of the patient was complete remission at the end of follow-up.Conclusions:Chronic lymphocytic leukemia with nephrotic syndrome as the initial manifestation is rare, and the clinical presentations are variable. Early diagnosis is the guarantee of successful treatment. The efficacy and safety of first-line Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor monotherapy are good.
