Objective The current study was aimed to establish an electrically amygdala kindling model of refractory epilepsy in Sprague-Dawley rats, and to study their changes of electrocorticagram ( ECoG ) .Materials and methods Male Sprague-Dawley rats were used in the experiment.Two-polar electrode was implanted into the right amygdala stereotactically.Two weeks after the surgery, electrical stimulations were given to elicit the grade 4 seizure in all animals with the fast kindling protocol.Rekindling was administrated after the first kindling.The after discharge threshold ( ADT) and the number of stimulus were reassessed in the two kindling protocols.ECoG and the behavior of the animals were recorded during the whole experiment.Result The changes of ECoG and behavior: Animals showed stage 1 -3 seizure when the ADT was assessed.While during the kindling period, the animals showed generalized convulsion with stage 4-5 seizure.ECoG showed sharp waves, spike waves, sharp-slow waves and spike-slow waves.Statistical analysis showed that the ADT was not significantly increased at two weeks after kindling ( from 83.33 ±22.29μA to 84.17 ±16.76μA, P=0.923 ) .The number of stimulus given to elicit the stage 4 convulsion was not significantly increased as well ( from 4.41 ±2.27 to 5.58 ±3.96, P=0.231 ) .Conclusions Rapid kindling model of epilepsy in rats is an effective epilepsy model, which is stable for 2 weeks.

Objective To investigate the correlation between benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH) and atherosclerotie related indicators.Methods Totally 125 patients were divided into two groups based on prostate volume(PV):50 cases without BPH (PV≤30 ml) and 75 cases with BPH (PV＞30 ml).Age,body mass index (BMI),triglycerides (TG),total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,glycosylated hemoglobin,prostate specific antigen (PSA),HOMA-IR,bilateral ankle brachial index (ABI) and cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) were measured and calculated.All these indicators were compared between two groups.The correlations of these indicators with PV were analyzed.Results BMI,TG,PSA,HOMA-IR and right-CAVI in BPH group were higher than in group without BPH (t=2.177,2.033,3.060,2.859,3.085,all P＜0.05),and right ABI was lower in the BPH group than in group without BPH (t=2.557,P＜0.05).The incidences of diabetes and coronary diseases in BPH group were increased compared with those without BPH (52％ and 36％ vs.30％ and 10％,x2 =5.917,10.648,P =0.015,0.001,respectively).PV was positively correlated with BMI,TG,PSA,right CAVI,left CAVI(r=0.336,0.216,0.556,0.295,0.389,all P＜0.05)by Pearson analysis.Conclusions BPH is closely correlated with insulin resistance and atherosclerosis.Atherosclerosis might cause prostate chronic ischemia and hypoxia,which may play a role in the pathogenesis of BPH.

Objective To introduce a new kind of circuit with temperature and voltage double compensation function in view of the deficiency of ambient temperature change on existing respiratory signal detection circuit. Methods The respiratory signal is detected by the characteristics of diode junction voltage with temperature changes. Results The functions of automatic temperatures compensation and automatic voltage fluctuation compensation are realized with the differential connection of two identical diodes. Conclusion The experimental results shows that the proposed circuit is basically immune to the fluctuation of ambient temperature changes and voltage fluctuation, its structure is simple and the accuracy of breathing signal detection is also improved.

Objective To study the value of the preoperative detrusor contractility to the outcome assessment of prostatectomy for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).Methods A total of 109 patients with BPH were analyzed.Their ages ranged from 62 to 83 years with a mean of 71 years.All patients underwent urodynamic study to confirm a diagnosis of BOO preoperatively.Further more, their BOO was not caused by nervous, endocrine or other diseases.Pateints were divided into two groups based on maximum detrusor contractility.Group Ⅰ (n =61, BPH with maximum detrusor contractility ≥ 40 cm H2O, 1cm H2O =0.098 kPa) underwent TURP or open surgery, respectively.Group Ⅱ (n =48, BPH with maximum detrusor contractility ≤ 20 cm H2O ) underwent TURP and suprapubic punctural cystostomy simultaneously,the bladder fistula was kept open continuously for at least two weeks postoperatively.The difference in outcome between the two grous was assessed by using urodynamic parameters including maximum detrusor contractility, Qmax and residual urine at one and three months postoperatively respectively.Student's t-test was used to compare the result for normally distributed data and Wilcoxon's signed-ranks test for skewed data in this study.Results There was significant difference in preoperative maximum contractility, Qmax between group Ⅰand groupⅡ (78.4 ±37.0 cm H2O) vs (19.2 ±5.4 cm H2O)(P＜0.01), (7.6±2.2 ml/s) vs (2.5 ± 1.1 ) ml/s (P ＜ 0.05) respectively.Although there was significant difference at one month postoperatively in Qmax (17.4 ±2.9)ml/s vs (12.5 ±2.0)ml/s (P＜0.05), no significant difference was found in Qmax between the two groups after three months ( 18.3 ±2.8 ml/s) vs ( 15.2 ± 1.8)ml/s (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The Qmax may improve and the impaired detrusor recovered gradually after the BOO was removed.Performing an operation on patients with BOO accompanied with detrusor underactivity may be useful to recover detrusor contractility.

Buprenorphine,one kind of new drugs,is abused in recent years.In this review,some determination and extraction methods for buprenorphine are introduced.The relative merits of liquid-liquid extraction,solid phase extraction,hydrolysis and derivatization methods are compared.The analytical methods such as TLC,GC,GC/MS and LC,LC/MS are discussed.

Objective To observe the efficacy of treating cerebral hemorrhage with operation combined with Chinese medicines with the functions of stopping endogenous wind, eliminating phlegm and removing blood stusis. Methods A total of 142 patients after surgery for cerebral hemorrhage were randomly recurited into two groups: a treatment group (n= 41 ) was administrated with Chinese medicines of stopping endogenous wind, eliminating phlegm and removing blood stasis, and a control group (n=41) accepted conventional treatment after the surgery. Results The therapeutic effects in the treatment group was superior to that in control group (X2=13.12, P<0.05) . Conclusion It is effective to treat cerebral hemorrhage with operation combined with Chinese medicines with the functions of stopping endogenous wind, eliminating phlegm and removing blood stasis.

Studies have shown that microRNA plays a role of oncogene or tumor suppressor gene in the carcinogenesis and progression of tumor.However, the role of microRNA-143 (miR-143) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) needs further study.Aims: To investigate the expression and clinical significance of miR-143 in ESCC.Methods: Sixty-three ESCC tissues and corresponding para-cancerous tissues, 40 esophageal intraepithelial neoplasia (IEN) tissues and corresponding normal tissues from Jan.2013 to Dec.2013 at the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University were enrolled.The expression of miR-143 was examined by real-time quantitative PCR, and its correlations with clinicopathological features were analyzed.Results: Compared with controls, expression of miR-143 was down-regulated in ESCC and IEN (P<0.05).Expression of miR-143 was correlated with pathological type (P<0.001), but not with gender and age (P>0.05).Expression of miR-143 was correlated with pathological staging, lymph node metastasis and TNM staging (P<0.05), but not correlated with tumor infiltration depth in ESCC patients (P>0.05).Conclusions: Expression of miR-143 is down-regulated in ESCC and IEN tissues, which may be closely related to the development and progression of ESCC, and has the potential to be used as a new target for diagnosis of ESCC.

RESULTS: The Bian Que Company adopted specialization development strategy, variation competition strategy and the crosswise integrated strategy. CONCLUSION: The counterparts of Bian Que Pharmaceutical Company Limited in Sichuan Province may draw experience from this company to lay an emphasis on its core business, horizontally integrate and enlarge management scale, segment market in many goals to make it bigger and larger to achieve better performance.

Objective To analyze the trend of nursing information system(Nursing Information System,NIS) and contemporary situation,so as to provide a reference for the further development of NIS in China.Methods Based on China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database,Wanfang database and VIP Chinese academic periodical database,retrieval published NIS literature from 2009 to 2013 in China.Seven aspects were analyzed:time,areal distribution,cooperative rate,authors,institutions,periodicals and keywords.Results There were 438 articles from 128 published journals,47.9％ papers were in the statistical source journals.Research content mainly involved clinical nursing and nursing management.Conclusions NIS research has achieved great development in the past 5 years,but the researches should be strengthened in breadth and depth.

ObjectiveTo study the relationship between EphA2 and laryngeal carcinoma angionegesis.MethodsImmunohistochemical staining was used to determine the expression of EphA2 and CD34 in 20 normal squamous epithelium tissues and 50 laryngeal carcinoma.The relationship between EphA2 expression and Microvascular density was analyzed bg Spearman correlation and linear regression.ResultsThe MVD in laryngeal carcinoma (54.89 ± 13.67) was significantly higher than that in normal squamous epithelial tissues ( 17.15 ± 5.21 ) ; The EphA2 in laryngeal carcinoma(4.56 ± 1.38) was significantly higher than that in normal squamous epithelial tissues ( 2.49 ± 1.23 ) ( t =16.721,5.847,all P ＜ 0.05 ).There was significant positive linear correlation between EphA2 and MVD in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(P ＜ 0.01 ).ConclusionEphA2 may correlate with angionegesis in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
