Objective To explore the diangostic value of serumhigh sensitive C-reaction prtein (hsCRP) serum amyloid a (SAA) and C-reaction protein (CRP) in patients who had HBV hepatopathy.Method 127 subjects with hepatopathy caused by HBV infection and 50 control subjects were incorporated in this research, and 47 cases with HBV hepatitis,35 cases with HBV cirrhosis and 45 cases with hepatic failure and SAA and CRP hsCRP of every sample was detected. Results ①Levels of CRP and hsCRP in cases were significantly higher than controls (Mann-Whitney U test,Z=-2.792,-8.458,P<0.01).②The hsCRP levels in the three different groups of cases were different (Kruskal-Wallis test,x2=11.625,P< 0.01).③The hsCRP level of group 2 and 3 was significantly higher than group 1 in the hepatic damage groups (Mann-Whitney U test,Z=-2.849,-2.902,P<0.01).④But the level of SAA had no statistically significant in any group.⑤The seropositivity of hsCRP in cases group was 76.29 % and it was higher than CRP (11.34 %) and SAA(26.80 %).Conclusion The diangosic value of CRP and hsCRP may better than SAA in the patients who got HBV hepatic damage which maybe caused by detection method as hsCRP is better than CRP.

Objective To explore the possible mechanism and protective effect of Xuebijing injection (血必净注射液)and dexamethasone on rats with paraquat-induced chronic pulmonary injury. Methods Thirty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups:normal group(n=5),model group(n=5), treatment groups(n=20).In the normal group, normal saline was used, while in the other groups,20% paraquat 80 mg/kg was injected peritoneally for poisoning. After 2 hours of intoxication, low dose Xuebijing injection(1.25 g/kg),high dose Xuebijing injection(2.50 g/kg),dexamethasone(25 mg/kg),high dose Xuebijing injection combined with dexamethasone(combined group)respectively were administered into the four different treatment groups, equal amount of normal saline was given to the normal and model groups, and the treatment continued for 4 days.At 28 days after paraquat injection,5 rats in each group were killed respectively, serum transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1)and hydroxyproline(HYP)level in the lung homogenate were measured, and pulmonary coefficient and histological changes were observed. Results In the treatment groups, the levels of serum TGF-?1 and lung tissue HYP,pulmonary coefficient were leas than those of model group, and among the treatment groups, combined group had the best results(all P

National Journal of Andrology 2007;13(9):826-829
The testis is highly sensitive to electromagnetic radiation. Sperm is the passer of male genetic material and electromagnetic radiation may cause structural and functional injury to the testis, including motility reduction, abnormality increase and ultrastructural alteration of epididymal sperm. Energy metabolism disorder in spermatogenic cells, enhancement of lipid peroxidation in the testis, excessive expression of inflammatory factors and abnormality of genetic transcription may be responsible for injury to the testis and epididymal sperm. This paper reviews the progress made in this field and the preventive measures against the injury.

To investigate cytotoxic secondary metabolites of Micrococcus sp. R21, an actinomycete isolated from a deep-sea sediment (-6 310 m; 142 degrees 19. 9' E, 10 degrees 54. 6' N) of the Western Pacific Ocean, column chromatography was introduced over silica gel, ODS, and Sephadex LH-20. As a result, eight compounds were obtained. By mainly detailed analysis of the NMR data, their structures were elucidated as cyclo(4-hydroxy-L-Pro-L-leu) (1), cyclo(L-Pro-L-Gly) (2), cyclo( L-Pro-L-Ala) (3), cyclo( D-Pro-L-Leu) (4), N-β-acetyltryptamine (5), 2-hydroxybenzoic acid (6), and phenylacetic acid (7). Compound 1 exhibited weak cytotoxic activity against RAW264. 7 cells with IC50 value of 9.1 μmol x L(-1).

The peeled stem of Syringa pinnatifolia is a Mongolia folk medicine, mainly distributed in Helan mountain, inner Mongolia and Ningxia provinces of China. It has been used for the treatment of cardiopalmus, angina pectoris, and cardiopulmonary diseases for a long history. Contemporary research revealed the presence of major lignans, sesquitepenes, and essential oils, and showed myocardial ischemia related diseases. This review summarizes the plant origins, taxonomic disputes, phytochemical and pharmacological research progress, hopefully to provide reference for full medicinal utilization, clarification of biological effective substance, and drug development.
