Objective To investigate the influence of neuro-specific DNA repair gene Nbn on the development of granular cells in hippocampus of monatal mouse. Methods The hippocampus development of postnatal mouse was evaluated by comparing the morphological differences of granular cells in hippocampus between the Nbn gene knockout mice (Nbn-CNS-Del) and the controls (Nbn-CNS-Ctr). Serial sections, immunohistochemistry and stereology methods were used to quantitatively analyze the development of granular cells in hippocampus of mice on the postnatal day 7, 14 and 21 (P7d, P14d and P21d). Results In Nbn-CNS-Ctr group, the granular layer in hippocampus manifested "C" in shape, the section area of granular layer was increased, and so was the cell body of granular cells in hippocampus during P7d to P21d; the inner arm granular cells in granular layer of hippocampus emerged on P7d, and most obvious changes occurred during P7d to P14d. While in Nbn-CNS-Del group, the granular layer in "C" shape were seen to form in most of the specimens during P7d to P21d, though they were sparsely distributed. Accompanying with the development of technological level,optical coherence tomography plays a more and more important role in predicting the surgical outcome for idiopathic macular hole.Preoperative morphologic parameters like minimum diameter,base diameter,maximum height,macular hole index,hole form factor,tractional hole index,macular hole closure index,photoreceptor inner-outer segment junction,cone outer segment tips line,central subfield retinal thickness and macular hole inner opening diameter were proved correlated to postoperative visual acuity and anatomical results.It has important application value to know these predictors to judge the surgical outcome and deepen understanding of idiopathic macular hole.

Objective To evaluate the imaging characteristics of the bone infarct . Methods 13 cases of the bone infarct proved by clinical manifestation and surgical pathology were collected,there were 5 males and 8 females. All patients had X-ray films, 4 were imagedwith CT scanning , 7 were imaged with MRI , and 2 underwent all three techniques . The bone infarct were classified into the early,themiddle and later stages.X-ray , CT and MRI findings of bone infarct ,were analysed characteristics . Results Partial osteoporosin and punctate calcifications could be seen on X-ray and CT , in the early and middle stages , which presented as iso-/low-signal on T_1WIand iso-/high-signal on T_2WI in the center of the bone infarct with a tortuous low-signal on T_1WI and high-signal on T_2WI zonearound.In the later stages,the bone infarct was characterize by irregular sclerosis and tortuous calcification on X-ray and CT,and by low-signal on both T_1WI and T_2WI . Conclusion MRI is the most effective way to find the bone infarct in the early stages , X-ray is helpful in diagnosing the bone infarct in the middle and later stages , CT is more sensitive than X-ray . X-ray ,CT and MRI should be combined in diagnosing the bone infarct .

Objective To further determine the inflammation?associated cytokine changes during endotoxin(LPS)tolerance. Methods Kun?ming mice were divided into groups. The endotoxin tolerance mouse model was established with repeated injection of LPS. Serum levels of tumor ne?crosis factor?α(TNF?α),interleukin?10(IL?10)and IL?17 were determined by ELISA assay. Results The serum concentrations of TNF?α,IL?10 and IL?17 were 2 261.49±1 090.28 pg/mL,7 780.42±2 320.04 pg/mL,and 27.28±13.76 pg/mL in the LPS control group,which were increased significantly compared to the normal healthy control group. The serum concentrations of TNF?α,IL?10 and IL?17 were 1 174.19±450.91 pg/mL, 1 293.26±520.85 pg/mL,and 22.26±11.44 pg/mL in the endotoxin tolerance group. Levels of TNF?αand IL?17 were further decreased by dexameth?asone treatment during LPS tolerance inducing,while the IL?10 level did not change significantly. Conclusion Compared to the status of endotoxin inflammation,levels of TNF?αand IL?10 decreased significantly,while levels of IL?17 were not significantly changed in the status of endotoxin toler?ance. Dexamethasone could further suppress TNF?αand IL?17 levels during endotoxin tolerance inducing.

AlM:To evaluate the value of color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of traumatic retinal detachment.
METHODS: All 50 cases ( 56 eyes ) of suspicious traumatic retinal detachment from January to June in 2013 were enrolled in this study. All first received the two-dimensional ultrasound, then the color Doppler ultrasound, finally, these results were compared with the results of surgery.
RESULTS: All 56 eyes were observed intravitreal abnormal spots by the two-dimensional ultrasound, and 39 eyes were observed color blood signal by the color Doppler ultrasound. Forty eyes were approved retinal detachment by surgery.
CONCLUSlON: lt is better to display the intravitreal abnormal spots and color blood signal by the color Doppler ultrasound than by the two - dimensional ultrasound, so there is important clinical significance of the color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of traumatic retinal detachment.

Phosphorylation of beta-catenin tyrosine residue 654 plays an important role in the epithelial to myofibroblast transition (EMT). Introducing mimic peptide of tyrosine residue 654 domain of beta-catenin into cells may influence phosphorylation of beta-catenin tyrosine residue 654. To deliver this mimic peptide into renal epithelial cells, we used penetratin as a vector, which is a novel cell permeable peptide, to deliver hydrophilic molecules into cells. A tyrosine 654 residue domain mimic peptide of beta-catenin (PM) with fused penetratin was constructed, purified and then detected for the penetration of the mimic peptide into human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2). The results showed that purified fusion mimic peptide could efficiently and rapidly translocate into human renal tubular epithelial cells. It is concluded that a cell-permeable peptides mimic of tyrosine residue 654 domain of beta-catenin was successfully obtained, which may provide a useful reagent for interfering the human renal tubular epithelial-mesenchymal transition.

OBJECTIVEThis study aims to examine the prevalence and diameter of the bony canal structure of the posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA), residual alveolar bone height, and distance of its inferior border from the alveolar crest using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).

METHODSCBCT images of maxilla in 116 patients were randomly selected from patients who underwent maxillary sinus augmentation procedure and/or posterior teeth implant therapy from April 2011 to September 2012. The lower border of the bony canal to the alveolar crest, diameter of the bony canal, and residual alveolar bone height below the sinus floor to the ridge crest were measured from CBCT scans. Data were presented using descriptive statistics.

RESULTSThe prevalence of the bony canal was 75.14% (133/177). The mean diameter of the bony canal was (0.96 ± 0.29) mm. The residual alveolar bone height was (7.14 ± 3.64) mm. The distance of the bony canal's inferior border from the alveolar crest was (17.92 ± 5.68) mm. No statistically significant differences between the right and left sides were observed (F = 0.295, P > 0.05). The mean diameter of the bony canal was significantly smaller in females than that in males (F = 0.187, P < 0.05). The maxillary alveolar dimension was significantly correlated with the residual alveolar bone height.

CONCLUSIONThe results from this study suggest that CBCT is a valuable tool in evaluating the presence of the bony canal of the PSAAs efore maxillary sinus surgery.
