Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal cocoon. Methods The clinical data of 16 patients with abdominal cocoon were analyzed retrospectively . Result All the 16 patients with abdominal cocoon were treated and confirmed by operation. Before operation, 11 patients were misdiagnosed as mechanical intestinal obstruction, 4 as chronic appendicitis, and 1 as abdominal tumor. All patients were operated on and postoperative complications were found in 2 patients. All patients were curred clinically and followed up for 1-10years. 2 patients were died of relapsing intestinal obstruction 1,5 years after operation. 2 occurred relapsing incomplete intestinal obstruction accompaning with malnutrition, 12 patients were good during the follow up period. Conclusions Preoperative diagnosis of abdominal cocoon is difficult. The diagnosis mainly depends on the upper gastrointestinal radiography, B-ultrasonography and CT. Removal of the membrane and releasing the intestine adhesions is an effective method in treating this disease.

Influenza virus is a virus causing upper respiratory tract infection disease with high morbidity and mortality. China is considered as an area with high rate of influenza morbidity. Prevention and treatment of influenza currently rely on vaccines and antiviral agents in the world. In addition, traditional Chinese medicines also have been used in clinical for influenza therapy. In vitro anti-influenza virus activities of 10 traditional Chinese medicines were studied by cytopathic effect (CPE). Qingre Jiedu oral liquid (factory H) had strong antiviral activity against influenza virus A/Guangdong Luohu/219/2006 (H1N1); Yinhuang oral liquid had strong antiviral activity against influenza virus A/Hanfang/359/95 and A/Yuefang/243/72 (H3N2). Qingkailing oral liquid (factory G) had strong antiviral activity against influenza virus A/Jifang/15/90 (H3N2). Qingre Jiedu oral liquid (factory H) had strong antiviral activity against influenza virus A/Jifang/15/90, A/Yuefang/243/72 (H3N2) and virus B.

Ribavirin is a broad-spectrum inhibitor against several unrelated DNA or RNA viruses in vitro and in vivo. In this paper the in vitro and in vivo study of anti-influenza virus activity of ribavirin (RBV) injection had been reported. The in vitro antiviral activity of ribavirin injection against influenza virus A and B was studied by CPE. The in vivo protective action of ribavirin injection against influenza A/FM/1/47(H1N1) mouse adapted strain infected mouse was studied with mouse model. The results showed ribavirin injection has strong inhibitory activity against 7 virus strains tested in vitro. Ribavirin injection could significantly increase virus infected mouse survival rate and survival days and improve lung pathogen and lung index.

Objective To probe into the inequality found in primary public health service available to the migrant population and permanent residents. Methods With on-site interviews, 581 migrant workers and 581 permanent residents in a county in Zhejiang province were surveyed, to learn the inequalities between the two in the expenditure, access and outcomes of the public health service accessible to each. Results only 7. 8% of the migrant population ever had access to medical aid, a ratio far below that of the permanent residents; 40. 9% of the migrant population may turn down medical service beyond their affordability, a ratio far higher; for the migrant population, their ratio of gynecological checkup is 58. 7%, lower than that of the permanent residents (67. 7%). Conclusion Resources and financial allocation to institutions of public health should be enhanced, and social medical and insurance system should be developed and improved, in an effort to encourage the equality of primary public health services accessible to various sectors of the population.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between two polymorphisms immediately upstream of the cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2) gene and preeclampsia in a South West Han Chinese population.
METHODSBlood samples from 205 patients with preeclampsia and 276 normal pregnant women as controls from Han Chinese in Chengdu area were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms.
RESULTSG and A allele frequencies for -1195G>A site were 48.54% and 51.46% in the patient group, respectively, and 40.40% and 59.60% in the control group, respectively. G and C allele frequencies for -765G>C site were 94.15% and 5.85% in the case group, respectively, and 94.38% and 5.62% in the control group, respectively. The AA genotype and variant A allelic frequencies of the -1195G>A SNP were significantly lower in patients with preeclampsia than in the control group (P<0.05), and the odds ratio for the risk of preeclampsia was 0.665 (95% CI: 0.444-0.982) in women homozygous for the variant COX2 A allele ( x²=4.233, P=0.047). The genotype and allele frequencies of the -765G>C polymorphism in patients with preeclampsia and controls showed no significant differences (P>0.05). Additional subgroup analyses (mild vs severe preeclampsia) of the two polymorphisms failed to reveal significant correlation for either genotypic or allelic frequencies. Furthermore, there was no significant association between the polymorphisms and blood pressure levels in the patient or control groups.
CONCLUSIONCOX2 -1195A homozygosity is associated with a decreased risk for preeclampsia in a South West Han Chinese population. On the other hand, the -765G>C polymorphism has no effect.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of different sphere volumes, target background ratio (T/B) and post-processing correction techniques on the quantitative results of 99Tc m SPECT/CT. Methods:Six spheres with different diameters (37, 28, 22, 17, 13, 10 mm) in National Electrical Manufacturers Association International Electrotechnical Commission (NEMA IEC) models were filled with a mixture of 0.54 MBq/ml 99Tc m and iodixanol. The mixture iodine content was about 0.3%(135 mg), which led to different T/B (32∶1, 16∶1, 8∶1, 4∶1) by changing the radioactivity concentration of the cylinder. Routine imaging was performed on different T/B phantoms which were scanned by SPECT/CT. The CT threshold method was used for the delineation of volume of interest (VOI). Then the same processing correction technique and ordered-subsets expectation maximization (OSEM) parameters were used to calculate the radioactivity concentrations of different spheres, and further compared with the true values, and the accuracies were calculated. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to evaluate the relationships between sphere volume, T/B and quantitative results. The sphere with T/B of 32∶1 and diameter of 37 mm were processed by 3 correction techniques (CT attenuation correction (CTAC)+ scatter correction (SC)+ resolution recovery (RR); CTAC+ SC; CTAC+ RR). One-way analysis of variance and the least significant difference t test were used to analyzed the effects of 3 correction techniques on the quantitative results and image contrasts. Results:There were significant relationships between the sphere volumes, T/B and the quantitative accuracy ( r values: 0.757, 0.409, both P<0.05). There were significant differences of 3 correction techniques on the quantitative results and image contrast ( F values: 139.665 and 38.905, both P<0.001). Among them, the quantitative error of CTAC+ SC+ RR was lower than that of CTAC+ SC ((9.63±8.82)% vs (38.89±2.17)%; P<0.001), and similar to that of CTAC+ RR ((8.70±6.64)%; P>0.05). The quantitative error of CTAC+ RR was lower than that of CTAC+ SC ( P<0.001). The image contrast of CTAC+ SC+ RR was higher than that of CTAC+ SC ((93.45±0.91)% vs (92.41±0.25)%; P<0.001) and the image contrast of CTAC+ SC was higher than that of CTAC+ RR ((91.37±0.87)%; P<0.001). Conclusions:The larger sphere volume and the higher T/B, the more quantitative accuracy. The volume has a more significant effect on quantitative accuracy than T/B. Choosing the appropriate correction technique is helpful to quantitative accuracy improvement. It is suggested to use CTAC+ SC+ RR in quantitative processing.

A series of novel indole-2-carboxylate derivatives were synthesized and assayed to determine their in vitro broad-spectrum antiviral activities. The biological results showed that some of the synthesized compounds exhibited potent broad-spectrum antiviral activity. Notably, compound 8f showed the highest SI value (17.1) to Cox B3 virus. Compound 14f showed both potent inhibitory activity against influenza A (IC50=7.53 μmol/L) and the highest SI value (12.1). SAR results showed that the alkyloxy at the 4-position of indole ring was not crucial to the antiviral activities. Incorporation of an acetyl substituent at the amino group disfavored antiviral activity towards RNA viruses.

COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection severely threatens global health and economic development. No effective antiviral drug is currently available to treat COVID-19 and any other human coronavirus infections. We report herein that a macrolide antibiotic, carrimycin, potently inhibited the cytopathic effects (CPE) and reduced the levels of viral protein and RNA in multiple cell types infected by human coronavirus 229E, OC43, and SARS-CoV-2. Time-of-addition and pseudotype virus infection studies indicated that carrimycin inhibited one or multiple post-entry replication events of human coronavirus infection. In support of this notion, metabolic labelling studies showed that carrimycin significantly inhibited the synthesis of viral RNA. Our studies thus strongly suggest that carrimycin is an antiviral agent against a broad-spectrum of human coronaviruses and its therapeutic efficacy to COVID-19 is currently under clinical investigation.
