1.Discussing the diagnosing and treating mode of corresponding prescription and pattern in Japanese kampo medicine
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2010;32(2):124-125
Japanese kampo medicine originated from traditional Chinese medicine. But different from TCM pattern of "Tracing the etiology by syndrome differentiation-establishing therapeutic methods-prescribing formula", during the process of development, Japanese kampo medicine has gradually formed a different diagnostic and therapeutic mode, which was "corresponding prescription and pattern". This therapeutic mode directly chose formula from ancient books, especially Shanghanlun (Treatise on Febrile Diseases), according to the constitution, symptoms and signs of patients. The diagnostic and therapeutic mode of Japanese kampo medicine provides references for integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine.
2.Advance in Treatment of Limb Spasm of Hemiplegic Patients (review)
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(10):863-866
The heighten of the muscles tension is a familiar complication along with epigyny motoneuron's trauma. It's main manifestation is body spasm which badly affects the patients' daily life ability and the rehabilitation treatment. The measures of anti-convulsion are varied which include medicine, acupuncture, operation, electricity stimulates, and etc. But the problems such as the curative effect, the fee and the specialized technology limit application of those measures in clinic. Under the guidance of the modern rehabilitation theory, according to the scientific research design elements and method of the modern medicine research, combining the therapeutics of the traditional Chinese medicine and some modern rehabilitation technology, developing a sort of safe and effective integrative therapy method, which is a domain urgently needs to be exploited.

Objective The practical evaluation of Rosco Disk Diffusion method on the clinical antifungal susceptibility test for yeast-like fungi. Methods The Fluconazole susceptibility test was detected by Rosco Disk Diffusion method and NCCLS M27-A broth macrodilution method with 76 yeast-like fungus strains isolated from clinical specimens. Three standard strains were used as the quality control. Results Coincidence rate of the two methods was 90.8%,The sensitive strains detected by one method didn't show resistance in another detection method, and the resistant strains detected by one method yet didn't show sensivity in another. Conclusion Rosco disk diffusion method can be used in clinical detection instead of NCCLS M27-A broth macrodilution method.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(07):-
Aim To study the effect of gamma-hydroxybutyric acid receptor(GHBR ) on neuronal apoptosis suffering from focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. Methods The male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 240~280 g were randomly divided into seven groups: sham operation group(sham), ischemia-reperfusion group(Isc/R) ,NCS-356 160、320、640 ?g?kg-1 group(N1、N2、N3),NCS-382 640+NCS-356 640 ?g?kg-1 group(NCS-382+N3),and nimodipine 600 ?g?kg-1 group(Nim). The middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) model invented by Zea Longa with modifications was adopted. The experiment was divided into two parts after ischemia reperfusion for 24h:In the first part,we measured the cerebral expression of Bax, Bcl-2, Caspase-3 by immuneohistochemical method. In the second part,we measured neuronal apoptotic rate by flow cytometry in the ischemic cortex region. Results The expression rate of Bcl-2 and Bcl-2/Bax ratio of N1,N2,N3 and Nim groups were all higher than that of Isc/R group(P

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (XZD) on patients with sudden deafness (SD).
METHODSSixty patients with SD were treated with XZD, and the changes of brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) and transcranial Doppler (TCD) parameters in them were detected before and after treatment and analyzed statistically.
RESULTSI, III and V waveform and peak latency (PL) of BAEP, velocity of vertebral basilar arterial blood flow and parameters of cerebral blood flow in SD patients were all improved to different levels after treatment with XZD.
CONCLUSIONTCM formula for promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis can improve BAEP and TCD parameters in SD patients; BAEP detection and TCD parameters can reflect nerve function and blood-supply state of internal ear and brain stem, and therefore are of great importance in guiding the clinical treatment and assessing the prognosis.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). More than one-third of patients with COVID-19 experience neurological symptoms, including confusion, headaches, and decreased/disordered taste. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a slowly progressive neurodegenerative disease and the most common type of dementia. Alzheimer's disease patients are at high risk and susceptible to infection with COVID-19, which may cause severe illness and even death. There appears to be an interaction between AD and COVID-19, and on the one hand, patients with COVID-19 seem to be more likely to develop AD. AD patients, on the other hand, may be more susceptible to severe COVID-19. Therefore, understanding the common link between COVID-19 and AD may help to develop treatment strategies. Risk factors common to AD and COVID-19 are aging, ApoE ε4 allele, β-amyloid (Aβ) deposition, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), neuroinflammation, oxidative stress. Here, this article focuses on the relationship between COVID-19 and AD, explores common risk factors and potential pathogenesis, and provides help for early prevention, treatment and recovery.

Background Age-related cataract is one of the common causes of blindness.Although the pathophysiology of age-related cataract is far from clearly understood,it is well accepted that DNA damage plays an important role in the disease pathogenesis. Objective The purpose of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the DNA damage in peripheral lymphocytes of age-related cataract. Methods A cross-sectional study was carried out. This study complied Declaration of Helsinki and approved by Ethic Committee of Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University.Written informed consent was obtained from each subject. Two hundred and eleven patients with agerelated cataract and 147 normal subjects were enrolled from a “ Jiangsu Eye Study:Funing 2011 Eye Disease Epidemic Survey”.All the subjects aged from 50 through 80 years with matched age and gender between the two groups. The percentage of tail DNA and Olive tail moment (OTM) were detected by comet assay to assess the extent of DNA damage in peripheral lymphocytes.Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS 17.0 software, and the differences of the percentage of tail DNA and OTM were compared between the age-related cataract group and normal control group by independent sample t test as well as among the 50-59 years group,60-69 years group and ≥70 years group by one-way analysis of variance. Results Comet assay showed a round lymph cell with the clear border in the normal group;while in the age-related cataract group, the cell was bigger with a comet-like tail. The percentage of tail DNA and OTM in peripheral lymphocytes were (21.75 ± 3.51) % and 6.54 ± 1.65 in the age-related cataract group, and those in the normal control group were (9.31 ±3.60)% and 2.18 ± 1.10,respectively,with significant differences between them (t =32.67,P =0.00 ; t =28.02,P =O.00).In the 50-59 years subgroup of the age-related cataract group, the percentage of tail DNA and OTM in peripheral lymphocytes were (20.04±2.86) % and 5.92± 1.14,and in the 60-69 years subgroup of the age-related cataract group, the percentage of tail DNA and OTM in peripheral lymphocytes were (20.77 ±2.93) % and 6.13 ± 1.14,which were significantly reduced in comparison with (22.79 ± 3.67)% and 6.95±1.91 of the ≥70years subgroup(TailDNA%:q=2.75,P=0.00; q=2.02,P=0.00;OTM:q=1.03,P =0.02 ; q =0.82,P =0.00).Conclusions The pathogenesis and development of age-related cataract probably is associated with DNA damage.
