AIM: To establish the quality standard for Compound Kumuxiaoyan Tablets (Herba Andrographis, Ramulus et Folium Picrasmae). METHODS: TLC was performed to identify Herba Andrographis, Ramulus et Folium Picrasmae. HPLC was used to determine deoxyandrographolide content. The Agilent ZORBAX SB C 18 column was used, and mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile 0.1%NH 3(35∶65). The detection wavelength was at 251nm. RESULTS: The quality control study showed that the characteristic for identification by TLC was distinct and hightly specific. The quantification method of deoxyandrographolide had the linear range of 0.04992～4.992?g( r =0.9999). The average recovery was 99.70%( RSD =0.63%, n =9). CONCLUSION: The methods of identification and quantification were accurate, realizable and reproducible. It can be used effectively for the quality control of Compound Kumuxiaoyan Tablets.

TLC was used for the qualitative identification of Magnolia officinalis Rehd. et wils, Cyperus rotundus L.and Rheum palmatum L. in Shixiangzhitong pill. The content of chrysophanol in Shixangzhitong pill was assayed by TLC-scanning. The proposed method can be used to control the quality of Shixiangzhitong pill.

AIM: To study the quality standard for Ganmao Qingre Granules(Herba Schizonepetae,Radix Saposhnikoviae,Radix Puerariae,etc). METHODS: Radix Saposhnikoviae,Spica Schizonepetae,Radix Bupleuri,Herba Platycodonis in Ganmao Qingre Granules were identified by TLC,and the content of puerarin was determined by HPLC. RESULTS: Radix Saposhnikoviae,Herba Schizonepetae,Radix Bupleuri,Herba Platycodonis could be identified by TLC.The concentration curve of hesperdin showed linearity over the range of 0.086 8-8.680 ?g(r=0.999 9).The average recovery was 99.09%,RSD was 1.12%(n=9). CONCLUSION: The method is simple,specific and accurate and can be used effectively for the quality control of Ganmao Qingre Granules.

Objective: To establish quality standard for Xiaoerhuichun Pills(Radix Scutellariae Radix Paeoniae Rubra, Rhizoma Coptidis, Folium Isatidis, Radix Puerariae, etc.). Methods: Radix Scutellariae, Radis paeoniae Rubra, Rhizoma Coptidis, Folium Isatidis and Radix Platycodonis were identified by TLC. The content for berberine hydrochloride in Xiaoerhuichun Pills was determined by TLCS canning. Results: The methodological study showed that a good linear correlation in the range of 0.05776 to 0.34656?g of the berberine hydrochloride. The average recovery of berberine hydrochloride ( n =8) was 98.69% and RSD was 0.73%, respectively. Conclusion: The method is simple, accurate and with good repeatability and high precision. The method can be used for quality control of Xiaoerhuichun Pills.

AIM: A methond was established for the determination of emodin and chrysophanol in Zhenhuang Powder (Margarita, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, artificial Calculus Bovis, etc.). METHODS: RP HPLC was used for samples separated on a shim pack VP ODS column with the mobile phase of methanol-0.1% H 3PO 4(85∶15) and the detection wavelength was set at 430nm. RESULTS: The calibration curves were linear in the range of 0.01181～4.724?g( r =0.9994) for emodin and in the range of 0.01300～5.200?g( r =0.9999) for chrysophanol, respectively. The average recoveries were 99.0%( RSD =1.23%, n =5) and 100.5% ( RSD =1.06%, n =5), respectively. CONCLUSION: The method is simple, realizable and reproducible. It can be used effectively for the quality control of Zhenhuang Powder.

Fufanghuangbai Liquid is a compound prescription for topical use containing fructus Forsythiae, Cortex phellodendri and Flos Lonicerac as its main ingredients.A method for the identification of these ingredient by TLC was developed while the content of berberine hydrochloride in the prescription was determined with column chromatography and TLC scanning.The method can be used to control the quality of Fufanghuangbai Liquid.

Objective: To establish the quality control method for ephedrine in Herba Ephedrae and its preparation Zhisoulixiao Tablets (Herba Ephedrae, Pericarpium Papaveris, Semen Armeniacae Amrum, Radix Glycyrrhizae, Gypsum Fibrosum, Semen Lepidii, Semen Raphani, etc.) and Zhisoulixiao Capsules. Methods:Ephedrine hydrochloride contents in Herba Ephedrae and its preparation Zhisoulixiao Tablets and Zhisoulixiao Capsules were determined by TLC scanning with a mixture of chloroform ethyl acetate methanol water(13∶40∶22∶10)as a developer and single wavelength reflection sawtooth scanning. Results: The methodological study showed that a good linear correlation in the range from 0.29112?g to 1.4556?g of the ephedrine hydrochloride applied. The average recovery of ephedrine hydrochloride in Herba Ephedrae, Zhisoulixiao Tablets and Zhisoulixiao Capsules was 78.74%( n=5 ),99.46%( n=5) and 99.14%( n=5) ,respectively. Conclusion: The method established is simple,accurate with good reproducible and high precision.The method can be used for the quality control of Herba Ephedrae and its preparation

Methods:TLC was performed to identify Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Fructus Aurantii Immaturus and Radix Puerariae. HPLC was used to determine the content of puerarin. Results:The study on the quality control showed that the characteristic of identification by TLC was distinct and hightly specific. The quantification method had the linear range of 0.04092～2.4552?g. The average recovery was 99.36% and RSD was 2.32%. Conclusion:The method for identification and quantification was simple, realizable and reproducible. It can be used effectively for the quality control of Erxiaqingxin Tablets.
