Objective To investigate a new method in correction of epicanthus.Methods Asymmetrical Z-plasty was used in correcting epicanthus and lengthening palpebral fissure in 42 cases with 84 eyes.It could be combined with double-eyelid-blepharoplasty to create beautiful eyes.Results All 42 cases with 84 eyes had satisfactory outcome after half a year to 2 years follow-up.The epicanthus scar was conspicuous in the first 6 weeks and it subsided gradually.In the three cases.the hypertrophic scar occurred in the epicanthus,but it softened and became inconspieuous 6 mouths after operation.Conclusion Asymmetrical Z-plasty is a new and reliable method for correction of epicanthus with inconspicuous scar and little chance of recurrence that can be widely used.

The Many experiments show that pH affect the growth of romastigotes of L donovani. But the control tests with Acid - base scale have not been reported on the growth of promastigotes from different genesis. This paper reports that pH has different nfluence on several kinds of promastigotes from different genesis. We obseved that the growth of promastigotes of L. doncvani is inhibited when pH is 4.6 and 8.6.

OBJECTIVE:To study the characteristics and general pattern of the adverse drug reactions(ADR)occurred in our hospital.METHODS:A total of 125 ADR cases collected in our hospital during 2007 were analyzed statistically in respect of patients' age and sex,route of administration,serious ADR,drug combination,past ADR history,drug kinds,ADR-involved organs or systems and clinical manifestations etc.RESULTS:Of the total 125 ADR cases,11 categories or 62 kinds of drugs were involved,with antimicrobial drugs took the lead which caused ADRs in 65 cases(52.0%)followed by Chinese patent agents which caused ADR in 38 cases(30.4%).102(81.6%)ADR cases were induced by intravenous route.Lesions of skin and appendants were the most common presentations of the ADR,which appeared in 70 cases(52.24%).10(8.0%)were severe cases.CONCLUSION:Importance should be attached to the reporting and monitoring of ADR so as to lessen or avoid the occurrence of ADR in the clinic meanwhile promoting rational use of drugs and ensure medication safety.

OBJECTIVE: To optimize the preparation technology of Buqi tongmai capsule.METHODS: Orthogonal experiment of exeracting Radix Astragali was conducted with crude drugs soaking time,extracting times,amount of water added and decocting duration as factors and the content of astragaloside as index.Orthogonal experiment of exeracting Salvia miltiorrhiza,Ligusticum chuanxiong,Fructus Aurantii Immaturus,Carthamus tinctorius was conducted with crude drugs soaking time,amount of water added and decocting duration as factors and the content of tanshinol as index.RESULTS:Water was adopted for extraction and the concentration of alcohol for precipitate was 70 percent.The optimal technology of exeracting Radix Astragali was to soak the crude drugs for 30 min,decoct for 90 min in 10 times of water for 2 times.The optimal technology of exeracting S.miltiorrhiza,L.chuanxiong,Fructus Aurantii Immaturus,C.tinctorius was to decoct the crude drugs for 90 min,8 times of water for 2 times.CONCLUSION:The preparation processes is feasible,stable and meet the demands in the clinic.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate application of antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in 3 hospitals of Guang’an and find out the reason of unreasonable use of drug. METHODS: 120,000 prescriptions were randomly collected from inpatient and outpatient departments of 3 hospitals from Jan. 2005 to Jan. 2008, which included 20 000 pediatrics prescriptions. The DDDs and DUI of antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs were analyzed statistically. RESULTS: The DUI of 10 kinds of antibiotics and 3 kinds of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs were above 1, which indicated that drug abuse occurred. CONCLUSION: Physicians’ prescribing behavior lack medical rationality and the situation of drug feeding hospital is still critical in primary hospitals.

The disadvantages of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) in critically ill patients were increased infection rate and hepatic dysfunction.Enteral nutrition (EN) can overcome the shortcomings of TPN and cost less.However,EN may not provide enough energy and protein because of the limited gut function.The best mode of the nutritional support in the critical ill patients is PN+EN.The non protein calorie and protein needs can be decided by the measured energy expenditure and overfeeding should be avoided.To further improve the critically ill patient nutritional status,immunonutrition and ecoimmunonutrition should be considered.

Objective To observe the effects of autologous myoblast transplantation on endplate regeneration and neuromuscular function restoration following direct nerve implantation (DNI) in rats so as to offer experimental basis for the use of myoblasts in neural regeneration area and further lay foundation for the research using myoblasts as transgenic carriers. Methods A total of 20 male SD rats were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,with 10 rats in each group.Models of DNI in rat gastrocnemius were established.The experimental group was injected with primarily cultured autologous myoblasts to the DNI location,while the control group was injected with isometric medium without autologous myoblasts.The effects of myoblasts on the neuromuscular function recovery following DNI were studied by detecting the tibial functional index (FTI),neuro-electrophysiology and pathohistology.Results The experimental group displayed faster tibial nerve function recovery than the control group (P ＜ 0.01 ).The peak to peak value (PPV) of gastrocnemius neuro-electrophysiology,area under the curve and regenerated endplate number of the experimental group had statistical significances as compared with the control group ( P ＜ 0.01 ). Conclusion Myoblast autotransplantation accelerates the recoveryof neuromuscular function after rat DNI and increases the number of the regenerated endplates.
