Aim To explore the hemodynamic change of elderly isolated hypertension(EISH). Methods Color doppler ultrasonography were applied to examine thirty EISH patients and twenty eight elderly healthy subjects. The left ventricular systolic function as well as hemodynamic parameters were measured. Results The indices of left ventricular systolic function in EISH group such as SV,CO,EF and CI were obviously higher than those of control group(P<0.05),Linear relevant analysis show that pulse pressure was remarkable related to SV,CO,EF and CI in EISH group, with r value 0.43,0.56,0.46,0.45 respectively. Conclusion EISH patients apparently had ventricular systolic dysfunction and hemodynamic abnormality. Pulse pressure may be associated with development of sysytolic dysfunction.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(02):-
Objective To compare Western blot analysis and immunofluorescence method in Survivin expression. Methods By using Western blot analysis and immunofluorescence method, Survivin gene expressions of the peripheral blood mononuclear cells in 18 patients with leukemia and 10 healthy persons were analysed. Results Positive expression of Survivin gene was detected in 13 of 18 leukemic patients by Western blot analysis and in 11 of 18 leukemic patients by immunofluorescence method. Negative expression of Survivin gene was detected in 10 healthy persons. The results of Survivin expression were the same in 16 patients by Western blots analysis and immunofluorescence method (consistent rate is 88.89%), but the positive expression of Survivin by Western blot analysis was the negative expression by immunofluorescence method in another 2 patients. Conclusion Survivin gene expressed selectively in leukemic cells, but not in normal mononuclear cell in peripheral blood. It indicated that Survivin expression is effective monitoring index in diagnosis and prognosis of leukemia. Survivin expression by Western blot analysis was consistent with immunofluorescence method.

Objective: To study the axonal effect and the expression of integrin α6β4 during Schwann cell(SC) differentiation and myelination. Methods: Schwann cells were dissociated from the sciatic nerve of neonatal Waster rats and neurons dissociated from spinal cord. Singal cultures and purified populations of SC were cocultured with NC. Four methods (contrast microscope, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), immunocytochemistry method and in situ hybridization ) were used. Results: The separately cultured Schwann cells showed MBP negetive by immunocytochemistry method. But cocultured SC were shown positive. SEM showed that Schwann cells' membrane loop progressively circumnavigated around the axon during myelination, which suggested that the non-myelinating SC(nMSC) transformed to myelinating SC (MSC). In situ hybridization showed integrin α6β4 positive signals only on the outer surface of the Schwann cell-axon unit in SC coculture with NC. Conclusion: The differentiation and maturation of SC depend on axon, and the activity of integrins is expressed by axon. Axonal contact induces the expression of α6β4 during SC myelination, which suggests that integrin α6β4 is an important mediator of interactions of myelinating SC with the basal limina.

OBJECTIVEThis study aimed to explore the differences of membrane thickness and pressure on the paranasal sinus membrane in goats and analyze their causes. The results can provide theoretical basis and guidance for the issues of the maxillary sinus floor augmentation related to the membrane.
METHODSThe membrane was cut into two sizes from every sinus membrane. The membrane was fixed in formalin to obtain tissue specimens for the membrane thickness study and pressure study. The correlation between the two parameters was then analyzed, and appropriate statistical methods and software were selected.
RESULTSThe top of maxillary sinus, the bottom of maxillary sinus and the frontal sinus membrane thickness were (410.03 ± 65.97), (461.33 ± 91.37), (216.90 ± 46.47) µm. The pressure were (260.08 ± 80.12), (306.90 ± 94.37), (121.72 ± 31.72) kPa. The mean differences of the membrane thickness between the top of the maxillary sinus and the frontal sinus, bottom and frontal, and top and bottom were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The mean differences in membrane pressure were also statistically significant (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe membrane thickness and pressure of the top and bottom of the maxillary sinus are higher than those of the frontal sinus membrane. However, the thickness and pressure of the bottom membrane are slightly higher than those of the top membrane. Pressure and membrane thickness are positively correlated in the sinus membrane.

Objective :
To identify the factors affecting microvascular complications among patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM), so as to provide insights into the management of microvascular complications of T2DM.
Methods:
T2DM patients hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology of a tertiary hospital in Weifang City, Shandong Province from January 2021 to January 2022 were enrolled, and subjects' basic information, lifestyle and medical history were collected using questionnaire surveys. Fasting insulin, fasting blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin were measured, and factors affecting microvascular complications were identified among T2DM patients using a multivariable logistic regression model and a decision tree model.
Results:
Totally 1 003 T2DM inpatients were enrolled, including 515 men (51.35%) and 488 women (48.65%), and the prevalence of microvascular complications was 40.18%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that age of 60 years and older (OR=2.510, 95%CI: 1.441-4.374), T2DM duration of 10 years and longer (OR=3.205, 95%CI: 2.242-4.581), fasting insulin of lower than 3.21 μIU/mL (OR=1.749, 95%CI: 1.239-2.469), using of agents or insulin to control blood glucose (OR=1.880, 95%CI: 1.143-3.092), glycated hemoglobin level of 7% and higher (OR=1.751, 95%CI: 1.172-2.615) as factors affecting microvascular complications among T2DM patients. Decision tree analysis identified course of T2DM as a major factor affecting the risk of microvascular complications among T2DM patients, and the prevalence of microvascular complications was 70.22% among T2DM patients with disease course of 10 years and longer and fasting insulin of lower than 3.21 μIU/mL or 16.32 μIU/mL and higher, 44.23% among T2DM patients with disease course of 5 to 10 years and at ages of 60 years and older, and 43.10% among T2DM patients with disease course of less than 5 years and fasting insulin of lower than 3.21 μIU/mL.
Conclusion
Advanced age, long course of T2DM, low fasting insulin and high glycated hemoglobin may increase the risk of microvascular complications among T2DM patients.

OBJECTIVETo investigate promoter methylation status of LITAF gene in B-cell lymphoma and to explore transcription regulation of 5-Aza-2'-deoxycytidine (5-Aza-CdR) on LITAF gene.
METHODSOne hundred and five paraffin specimens including 54 cases of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), 15 small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), 8 mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (MALT) and 6 follicular lymphoma (FL) were included. Five reactive lymphoid hyperplasia samples were collected as control. Methylation status of CpG island in LITAF gene in the specimens and in Raji, Pfeiffer and Daudi cell lines were detected by methylation-specific PCR (MSP). LITAF expression in Raji, Pfeiffer and Daudi cell lines with or without 5-Aza-CdR treatment was detected by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. The inhibitory ratio in the three cell lines was measured by MTT assay.
RESULTSThe frequency of LITAF gene methylation in B-cell lymphoma was 89.5% (94/105) . Among them, 3.8% (4/105) showed complete hypermethylation. In control group, however, there was no methylation in CpG island of LITAF gene promoter. The expression of LITAF was recovered or increased along with the cell growth inhibition when the cells exposed to demethylating reagent.
CONCLUSIONSLITAF gene silencing with aberrant CpG methylation is probably one of the critical events to the oncogenesis of B-cell lymphoma, which may have important implications as a candidate marker for diagnosis and target gene therapy.
