Background and purpose:The gastric cancer is the highest incidence of malignant tumors in the world. The main treatment methods for gastric cancer are operation and chemotherapy. But the effect is not good. With the rapid development of economy and molecular biology, early diagnosis and molecular targeted therapy for gastric cancer has become a research hotspot. The oncogene overexpression and the anti-oncogene lower expression are closely related with gastric cancer.CDC4/FBXW7 is an anti-oncogene, butc-Myc is an oncogene. The previous research showed that CDC4 affected the expression of many oncogenes, such as Cyclin E. This study aimed to investigate the expression of CDC4 and c-Myc in gastric cancer and to elucidate the potential relationship between their expressions and clinical pathological characteristics.Methods:Semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (sRT-PCR), immunohistochemistry and Western blot method were used to determine the mRNA and protein expressions of CDC4 and c-Myc in 40 specimens of gastric carcinoma tissues, corresponding adjacent tissues and normal mucosal tissues. The expressions of CDC4 and c-Myc and the clinical pathological characteristics were analyzed.Results:The protein expressions of CDC4 in gastric cancer tissues were signiifcantly lower than those in adjacent tissues and normal mucosal tissues (P<0.05), whereas the protein expression of c-Myc in gastric cancer tissues was signiifcantly higher than that in adjacent tissues and normal mucosal tissues (P<0.05). The protein and mRNA expression of CDC4 and c-Myc were correlated with differentiation, TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, inifltration, but not with patients’ gender, age and site of cancer (P<0.05). There was a signiifcant negative correlation between CDC4 and c-Myc at the mRNA and protein expression levels (P<0.05).Conclusion:The lower expression of CDC4 is correlated with differentiation, TNM stage, lymph node metastasis and inifltration. c-Myc overexpression is likely to be the CDC4 loss. It suggests that the loss of CDC4 may be a valuable marker for assessing the diagnosis and treatment and the prognosis of gastric cancer.

AIM: To investigate the role of heat-shock protein 70(HSP_(70)) in the protection of myocardial cells against ischemic injury. METHODS: Myocardial cells were cultured in vitro. HSP_(70) was induced by hyperthermia.H_2O_2-injured myocardial cells were divided into different groups. Flow cytometry, DNA Ladder and biochemistry methods were employed to observe the myocardial cells of different groups. RESULTS: Immunohistochemistry showed hyperthermia induced the up-regulation of HSP_(70) in myocardial cells. Apoptotic rate, activity analysis of cytochrome C and succinic dehydrogenase in H_2O_2-injuried and HSP_(70)-protected groups were obviously different. Electron micrograph shomed hyperthermia alliviated myocardial cell injury induced by H_2O_2. CONCLUSION: HSP_(70) delays apoptosis and protects against H_2O_2-induced myocardial cell injury.

Objective To evaluate the cost-benefit of netting cultivation to block the spread of Oncomelania snails in lake re-gions. Methods The cost-benefit of netting cultivation was investigated by interviewing in the field,the cost of Oncomelania snail survey and control was investigated by retrospective review in Gaoyou Lake regions of Jinhu County from 2009 to 2011. The benefit of netting cultivation to block the spread of snails in lake regions was calculated by the benefit-cost ratio(BCR),and then the cost-benefit of them was calculated. Results The area of netting cultivation in Gaoyou Lake regions was 70.77 hm2,the aver-age cost of netting cultivation was 495 595 yuan every year,the average income was 962 000 yuan every year,and the average ben-efit of netting cultivation was 466 405 yuan. The average cost of Oncomelania snail survey and control from 2009 to 2011 was 85 047.87 yuan in Gaoyou Lake regions. The ratio of cost-benefit was 1.11∶1. The benefit was more than the cost. Conclusion There is a well benefit in lake regions during blocking the spread of snails by netting cultivation.

Objective To evaluate the effect of integrated control measures on soil-transmitted nematodiasis so as to provide the evidence for formulating the appropriate control strategies and measures in Jinhu County,Jiangsu Province. Methods Since 1995,the comprehensive control measures were carried out for soil-transmitted nematodiasis,and the measures included deworm-ing,health education,safe water,sanitation and environmental remediation. The effects of the comprehensive control measures were evaluated by the investigations of the prevalence of soil-transmitted nematodiasis,awareness of health knowledge,and behav-iors of residents. Results From 1995 to 2012,646 437 person-times were administrated in deworming medication with 2.48 times per capita;the benefit rate of safe water was 97.90%;the popularity rate of harmless toilets was 86.89%. The awareness rate of health knowledge increased from 54.05%in 1996 to 95.60%in 2012,the difference between them were statistically significant (χ2=230.92,P<0.01);the rate of correct health behaviors increased from 59.07%in 1996 to 96.40%in 2012,the difference between them had statistical significance(χ2=202.69,P<0.01). The prevalence of soil-transmitted nematodiasis decreased from 62.57%in 1989 to 1.21%in 2012,the difference had statistical significance(χ2=1 016.92,P<0.01). The infection rates of Asca-ris lumbricodes,hookworm and Trichuris trichiura were 0.58%,1.12%and 0,respectively in 2012,and compared with the rates of those infections in 1989,the decline rates were 94.96%,97.28%and 100%respectively,the differences between them were sta-tistically significant(χ2A sc aris =129.50,χ2hookworm=544.62,χ2Tri ch uris =254.19,all P<0.01). Conclusion The comprehensive control strategies and measures are effective and soil-transmitted nematodiasis has been controlled in Jinhu County.

AIM: To examine the effect of compound salvae-dropping-pill (CSDP) on intracellular free calcium in cultured rat myocardial cells subjected to hypoxia and reoxygenation.METHODS: The Fluo- 3/AM was applied to probe intracellular calcium concentration and the fluorescent intensity was detected using laser confocal microscopy technique.RESULTS: Fluorescent intensity in hypoxia plus CSDP group was significantly lower (1 217 78?312 07) than that of hypoxia group (1 509?508 48), and the Fluorescent intensity of hypoxia/reoxygenation plus CSDP group was also markedly lower (1 567.91?577 61) than that of hypoxia/reoxygenation group (1 617.60?477.53).CONCLUSION: The cultured rat myocardial cells could be effectively protected by administration of CSDP in case of hypoxia and reoxygenation through decreasing the intracellular calcium concentration. AIM: To observe the effect of Dan Shen Pill on expression of Fas/FasL proteins in cultured neonatal rat cardiomyocytes during hypoxia and reoxygenation. METHODS: The neonatal rat cardiomyocytes were isolated and cultured in normal condition for 24 hours before hypoxia and reoxygenation experiments were conducted. The expressions of Fas/FasL proteins in cultured neonatal rat cardiomyocytes were determined by immunohistochemistry and positive expression index (PEI) was calculated. RESULTS: (1) The PEI of Fas/FasL proteins in hypoxia group was higher, but the PEI in Dan Shen Pill treated group was significantly lower than that in control. (2) Under the condition of hypoxia for 30 min then reoxygenation for 4.5 h or 10.5 h, the PEI of Fas/FasL oprotein in cultured neonatal rat cardiomyocytes was also much higher than that in control. However, in the presence of Dan Shen Pill, PEI reduced remarkably compared to cells in the absence of Dan Shen Pill under the same hypoxia and reoxygenation conditions. CONCLUSION: The results indicated that the enhancement of Fas/FasL protein expression emerged in the hypoxia and reoxygenation injury in cultured neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. Dan Shen Pill treatment reduced apoptosis during hypoxia and reoxygenation by decreasing the Fas/FasL protein expression.

AIM:To observe the expression of calcium-sensing receptor(CaSR) of rat cardiomyocytes in anoxia-reoxygenation(A/R) injury and CaSR-induced changes of intracellular calcium;involvement of CaSR in apoptosis and relevant signaling transduction pathway.METHODS:The A/R injury was remodeled in vitro;CaSR,caspase 3 and caspase 9 were deteced by Western blotting.LSCM was used to observe changes of intracellular calcium during reperfusion with or without CaSR agonist.Morphological changes in different groups were observed by light microscopes.Apoptotic cells were measured by TUNEL assay.RESULTS:By LSCM,it was found that the intracellular calcium was significantly increased during reperfusion both in A/R and activator group.Severe injury was found by HE staining in the above two groups,the number of apoptotic cells was significantly increased according to TUNEL assay.The expression of CaSR,caspase 3 and caspase 9 was significantly increased in A/R group and activator group compared with control.CONCLUSION:CaSR is involved in intracellular calcium overload in A/R cardiomyocyte,which can accelerate apoptosis during A/R.

METHODS: The myocardial anoxin/reoxygenation model was made in perfused isolated rat heart. DSDP and isosorbide dinitrate (ID) were given at the time of pre-perfusion and reperfusion, then HPLC and H-600 electron microscope were used to detect the change of high energy phosphate and the ultrastructure of myocardial cell. Irritable bowel syndrome ( IBS ) is one of most common gastrointestinal dysfunction diseases in worldwide,it often causes recurrent abdominal pain,bowel habit change ( diarrhea or constipation) ,abnormal defecate character and so on. These symptoms occur recurrently and persistently,which seriously affects the patient's daily life. How to make a rational treatment plan for IBS patients is an urgent problem to be solved. Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of Tissue-Link combined with Cusa and Pringle in hepatectomy for primary hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods From January 2013 to January 2017,the clinical data of ninety-six primary hepatocellular carcinoma patients who had received hepatectomy were collected. 45 cases of hepatectomy (control group) were performed by Pringle. The other 51 cases (observation group) were treated with Tissue-Link combined with Cusa. The indexes and survival rates were compared between the two groups during and after operation.
