Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
It is common in bacterial genomes of the integration of prophages. As an important participant of the vital movement of their hosts, prophages affect closely the biological properties of the hosts. Therefore, if we want to comprehend a bacterial genome fully, it is essential to recognize and understand accurately prophages in it. This article is a compendious review about the classification, distribution, identification, evolution of prophages and the interaction with their hosts.

Objective To discuss morphology and biomechanics of the sacrum fractures so as to provide scientific basis for corresponding clinical treatment. Methods A total of 10 fresh pelvis specimens were collected for dynamic impact test and static destruction test, in the former one of which, the dynamic parameters were measured to make sure the dynamic characters of the fractures. Meanwhile, the fractures of the sacrum wing, the sacral foramina and the sacrum edge were made decalcification, slice of paraffin wax and staining (Masson, Mallory, HE) in order to make a cytological observation of the tissue. Results (1) The form of sacrum fracture or acetabulum fracture, crista iliaceis fracture was relevant to the impact energy. Low impact energy usually caused fractures of the ilium, acetabulum or sacroiliac crest. High impact energy resulted in following three kinds of fractures, just as the classification of Denis: sacral ala fractures belonged to typeⅠfractures, sacral hiatus fractures to type Ⅱ fractures and central vertebral canal fractures to type Ⅲ fractures. All three types of fractures might involve lateral or bilateral nerve roots. (2) There was a significant mechanic difference in regard of the mechanism of both dynamic destruction and static destruction of pelvis, ie, not only the limit pressure differed but also the former increased rapidly with the higher rate of the strain. The clash energy beyond 25 J would beget the cleft fractures of the sacrum via sacrum hiatus and even involve the nerve roots. The clash energy under 20 J usually resulted in fractures of the ilium and the sacrum. The clash energy between 20 J and 25 J more easily caused type Ⅰ fractures. While fracture of the ilium and the acetabulum would happen most in static destruction. (3) The cross section of the sacrum was cracked and the bone board of Haversian system is brittle, as led to separation of bone board and malposition of a few cross bone boards. Conclusions Under dynamic state, the sacrum fractures mostly belong to type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ (Denis classification of sacral fractures), usually involving the nerve roots. The sacrum fracture is relevant to the microstructure, the distribution of the bone trabecula, the osseous lacuna and the Haversian system of the sacrum. The fractures of the ilium and the acetabulum more frquently appear in static state, with slight wound of peripheral tissues.

Objective To explore the preventive and therapeutic effect of recombinant human interleukin-11(rhIL-11) on thrombocytopenia in children with non-lymphocytic leukemia after chemotherapy. Methods Sixteen children who had non-lymphocytic leukemia were divided into 2 groups by randomization, including a therapeutic group and a control group.RhIL-11[50 ?g/(kg?d)] was injected subcutaneously 24 h after chemiotherapy in the therapeutic group, and applied consecutively 10-14 days, and the control group was treated without RhIL-11.Duration of the thrombocytopenia, infusion of blood platelet, diversity of blood platelets counts and adverse effect were observed of the 2 groups.Differences between groups were examined using statistics analysis. Results There were 16 case-times(59.3%) in the therapeutic group that of could be cured without platelet transfusion, but that of control group only had 3 case-times(14.3%);the diffe-rence between 2 groups was significant(P
10. Efficacy of intraperitoneal sustained-release chemotherapy with 5-FU on mice bearing H22 ascitic tumor
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2006;27(11):1207-1209
Objective: To evaluate the inhibitory effect of intraperitoneal sustained-release chemotherapy with 5-FU on the growth of H22 ascitic tumor in mice. Methods: Mouse H22 ascitic tumor model was established by intraperitoneal injection of 0.2 ml H22 ascitic cells (4 × 106 cells) and the animals were subsequently divided into 4 groups randomly, namely, the saline control group (received saline), peritoneal chemotherapy group (received common 5-FU), sustained-release chemotherapy group (received sustained-release 5-FU), and negative control group (received control sustained-release agent). The survival times of the mice were recorded in all groups. The apoptosis rates of H22 ascitic cells were analyzed with flow cytometry 9 and 12 days after injection of H22 cells and the proliferation index was calculated. Electron microscope was used to observe H22 cells 12 days after peritoneal injection. Results: The average survival time of peritoneal chemotherapy group ([13.7±1.7] d) was significantly shorter than that of sustained-release chemotherapy group ([15.3±2.0]d) (P<0.05), but was longer than those of saline control group and negative control group (P<0.05), with no significant difference between the latter 2 groups. The apoptosis rate of H22 cells in sustained-release chemotherapy group was lower than that in peritoneal chemotherapy group (8.1±0.9 vs 16.5±1.7, P<0.05) 9 days after injection of H22 cells, but was higher than the latter 12 days after injection (10.1±1.3 vs 7.6±0.8, P<0.05); besides, they were both higher than those of saline control and negative control groups (P<0.05), with no significant difference found between the latter 2. Electron microscopic results showed that some H22 cells in peritoneal chemotherapy group and sustained-release chemotherapy group had a typical apoptosis appearance, and most cells in control group remained unchanged. Conclusion. Intraperitoneal sustained-release chemotherapy using 5-FU can prolong the survival time of mice bearing tumors and can inhibit the growth of H22 ascitic tumors for a longer period of time.
