Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2009;33(2):131-133
The strategies and methods of the total quality management (TQM) need to applied in quality management of radiation therapy. We should improve the level of quality control and quality assurance in radiation therapy. By establishing quality control system in radiation therapy, standardization of radiation therapy workflow, strengthening quality control of devices and physical technique and paying attention to safety protection and staff training.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2010;34(2):140-142
In 2003, JCI certification was introduced to create our new hospital quality management system. Our department imaging facilities management level and service quality markedly improved through JCI certification and re-evaluation. It played an important role in improving the efficiency and extending the life of medical facilities, reducing maintenance costs.

Annals of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore 2008;37(12):1044-1045
INTRODUCTIONCore curricula including Ethics, Medico-legal issues, Socioeconomics, and Quality Improvement (QI) are relevant and significant for graduate medical education programmes, regardless of specialty. A lack of faculty expertise in these content areas is a frequently cited concern among specialty programmes in graduate medical education. We report the results of an institutional systems-approach to assist this challenge. Our institution has 86 post-graduate residency and fellowship training programmes serving 1068 learners. Directors of these programmes expressed the need for a centralised approach to teach learners about insurance systems and the basics of QI.
MATERIALS AND METHODSTwo subject matter experts in the fields of insurance systems and 1 expert in QI conducted 2 institution-wide didactics on each of the content areas, attended by 192 and 225 learners respectively.
RESULTSSignificant improvement in learner knowledge was noted for all 3 knowledge-based questions for both content areas (P <0.0001). Learner self-assessment of knowledge of insurance systems increased from a pre-session mean of 2.86 to a post-session mean of 3.80 (P <0.0001) and from 3.29 to a post-session mean of 4.17 (P <0.0001) for the QI didactics.
CONCLUSIONSystems-wide didactic sessions for learners of different residencies has several advantages including the efficient use of content experts, prevention of resource burnout, and cost effectiveness. This strategy may also assist programmes directors in meeting external accreditation requirements.

7.ISO9000 and the quality management system in the digital hospital.
Yalan LIU ; Bin YAO ; Zigang ZHANG
Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2002;22(2):89-99
ISO9000 quality management system (ISO9000QMS) emphasize on the customer-oriented, managers' leadership and all staff's joining, adopt the process method and system management, spread the taking facts as a basis to make decision and improve consistently, and establish win-win relation with the suppliers. So, the digital hospital can adopt the ISO9000QMS. In order to establish the ISO9000QMS, the digital hospital should: (1) Design integrally, including analyzing the operation procedure, clarifying the job duties, setting up the spreading team and setting the quality policy and objectives: (2) Learning the ISO9000 quality standards; (3) Drawing up the documents, including the quality manual, program files and operation guiding files; (4) Training according the documents; (5) Executing the quality standard, including the service quality auditing, quality record auditing and quality system auditing; (6) Improving continually. With the establishment of ISO900QMS, the digital hospital can appraise more accurately, analyze quality matters statistically and avoid the interference of artificial factors.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2008;32(6):438-439
This paper describes a patient security detection system developed with two dimensional bar codes, wireless communication and removal storage technique. Based on the system, nurses and correlative personnel check code wait operation patient to prevent the defaults. The tests show the system is effective. Its objectivity and currency are more scientific and sophisticated than current traditional method in domestic hospital.
