Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(04):-
Objective To evaluate the potential of chlorhexidine(Chx)-thermosensitive hydrogel as a local drug delivery system for periodontal treatment. Methods The release profiles of Chx from CS-HTCC/GP thermosensitive hydrogel in vitro were investigated. Moreover, the antibacterial activity of S-HTCC/GP-0.1%Chx thermosensitive hydrogel to oral representative pathogens - Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis),Prevotella intermedia(P.intermedia) and Actinobacillus actinorn ycetemcornitans(A.actinom ycetemcomitans) was determined by inhibitory zone measurement. Results Chlorhexidine(Chx) released in vitro over 18 hours from the CS-HTCC/GP thermosensitive hydrogel in artificial saliva pH 6.8 which more effectively retarded the release of Chx.Three periodontal pathogens were susceptible to Chx thermosensitive hydrogel with the inhibitory zone diameters over the range of 12~14mm.Conclusion All results indicated that Chx thermosensitive hydrogel can be used as a local drug delivery system for periodontal treatment.

Objective To evaluate the biocompatibility and antibacterial activities of the Ornidazole Slow-Release Membrane. Methods 1.The lower lips of 12 rats were sewed into 12 pockets and the pockets were immited with extracting solution of the ornidazole membrane, formaldehyde and normal saline respectively once per day.The specimens were examined histologically 7 days later.2.The dorsal muscles of 16 rats were implanted with the membranes or silk threads, and examined histologically 1 week and 2,4,6 weeks later respectively.3. The antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans and Fusobacterium nucleatum was observed on solid culture medium in vitro. Results The animal experiments showed the membranes were not irritative to the oral mucosa. It was found that the tissue reaction of the membranes was similar to that of the silk threads after implanted into dorsal muscles and the membranes had been degraded in the second week. And the membranes had effective antibacterial action against Streptococcus mutans and Fusobacterium nucleatum. Conclusion The Ornidazole Slow-Release Membrane possesses favorable biocompatibility and antibacterial activities.

Objective:To observe the effects of hydrogen on osteogenic capacity of human periodontal ligament cells(hPDLCs)stim-ulated with P.g-LPS.Methods:hPDLCs were cultured and divided into 4 groups:control(C)group, osteogenic induction(OI) group,OI +1 00 ng/ml LPS(OILPS)group and OIPLS +3%H2 (H2 OIPLS)group, and treated respectively.Alizarin red staining (ARS)was carried out 3 weeks after treatment.ALP and OC mRNA expression of the cells was examined by RT-PCR after 7-d treat-ment.Results:LPS decreased A value of ARS(P <0.01 ),ALP mRNA expression(P <0.001 )and OC mRNA expression(P <0.001 )of the cells.H2 increased the A value(P <0.05),ALP mRNA expression(P <0.01 )and OC mRNA(P <0.01 )of the cells treated by LPS.Conclusion:High concentration of P.g-LPS can inhibit osteogenic capacity of hPDLCs,while hydrogen can impair the P.g-LPS induced suppression of hPDLC's osteogenesis.

Background Corneal biomechanical properties is important in the safety assessment of corneal refractive surgery.Corvis is a new device for measuring corneal biomechanics properties. Objective This study was to observe the correlation among corneal thickness, Corvis intraocular pressure and corneal biomechanical properties with Corvis. Methods A prospective observational study was performed. One hundred and fifty eyes of 75 patients with corneal thickness from 501 μm to 590 μm were divided into three groups according to the corneal thickness:low corneal thickness group (corneal thickness range from 501 μm to 530 μm), middle corneal thickness group (corneal thickness range from 531 μm to 560 μm) ,and high corneal thickness group (corneal thickness range from 561 μm to 590 μm);and 50 eyes of 25 patients for each group. The difference of intraocular pressure, corneal thickness and deformation amplitude (DA) among the three groups were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and the correlation among the groups were analyzed by liner regression. Results The DA in the low corneal thickness group and middle corneal thickness group were significantly higher than that in the high corneal thickness group (P < 0.05).The intraocular pressure was statistically different among the 3 groups (F =9.98, P<0.05).DA was negatively correlated with intraocular pressure and corneal thickness (r=-0.84,-0.33;both at P<0.01), with the linear regression DA =1.69-0.04×IOP (F=366.19, t=-19.14,P<0.01).Conclusions Corneal thickness cannot simply represent the corneal biomechanical properties in the safety assessment of corneal refractive surgery,IOP should be considered.

Objective:To observe the changes of glyeemia, urine protein, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and glycosylated hemoglobin in diabetic nephropathy rats and treating effects of Xiaokekang. Methods: Streptozotocin (STZ) was abdominally administered and was feeded by high lipid diet to establish diabetic nephropathy model in rats. Animals were divided into three groups: model group, Xiaokekang treatment group and normal group. Changes in glycemia, serum lipids, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen were measured at the 8th, 12th and 16th week after STZ injection. Glycosylated hemoglobin was measured at the 16th weeks after STZ injection. Results: Glycemia, serum lipids, serum creatinine were higher at the 8th, 12th and 16th week compared with normal group. Serum creatinine was higher at the 12th and 16th week, and glycosylated hemoglobin was also highter than that of the normal group. Xiaokekang reduced these changes. Conclusion: Xiaokekang can reduce glycemia, serum lipids and protect renal function.

Objective To explore the CT imaging features and independent risk factors for cystic pulmonary nodules and establish a malignant probability prediction model. Methods The patients with cystic pulmonary nodules admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the First People's Hospital of Neijiang from January 2017 to February 2022 were retrospectively enrolled. They were divided into a malignant group and a benign group according to the pathological results. The clinical data and preoperative chest CT imaging features of the two groups were collected, and the independent risk factors for malignant cystic pulmonary nodules were screened out by logistic regression analysis, so as to establish a prediction model for benign and malignant cystic pulmonary nodules. Results A total of 107 patients were enrolled. There were 76 patients in the malignant group, including 36 males and 40 females, with an average age of 59.65±11.74 years. There were 31 patients in the benign group, including 16 males and 15 females, with an average age of 58.96±13.91 years. Multivariate logistic analysis showed that the special CT imaging features such as cystic wall nodules [OR=3.538, 95%CI (1.231, 10.164), P=0.019], short burrs [OR=4.106, 95%CI (1.454, 11.598), P=0.008], cystic wall morphology [OR=6.978, 95%CI (2.374, 20.505), P<0.001], and the number of cysts [OR=4.179, 95%CI (1.438, 12.146), P=0.009] were independent risk factors for cystic lung cancer. A prediction model was established: P=ex/(1+ex), X=–2.453+1.264×cystic wall nodules+1.412×short burrs+1.943×cystic wall morphology+1.430×the number of cysts. The area under the receiver operating charateristic curve was 0.830, the sensitivity was 82.9%, and the specificity was 74.2%. Conclusion Cystic wall nodules, short burrs, cystic wall morphology, and the number of cysts are the independent risk factors for cystic lung cancer, and the established prediction model can be used as a screening method for cystic pulmonary nodules.
