1.Application values of electromyography in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of diabetic polyneuropathy and alcoholic peripheral neuropathy

Objective To study the features and differences of electromyography of diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN) and alcoholic peripheral neuropathy (APN ), and to provide reference basis for the clinical application of electromyography.Methods 58 patients with DPN and 30 patients with APN were used as subjects. Nerve conduction studies (NCS)and sympathetic skin response (SSR)were performed in the patients, all data were analyzed.Results In the patients with DPN, the abnormalities of NCS and SSR were increased with the prolongation of the time diabetes,and the abnormality of SSR was higher than that of NCS(P<0.05).In the patients with APN, both demyelination and axonal loss in motor and sensory nerves were significantly involved, and the abnomalities of NCS and SSR were higher than those of the DPN patients (P<0.05 or P<0.01);but the proximal nerves were just involoved mildly. Conclusion Both DPN and APN have characteristic electrophysiological features.Early electromyography is useful for the early diagnosis of DPN and APN.According to the electrophysiological features of DPN and APN,the reason of peripheral neuropathy in the patients who have diabetes mellitus and alcoholism could be differentiated.
2.Effects of Group Counseling on Depression and Anxiety of Patients with Schizophrenia in Rehabilitation

Objective: To study the effects of group counseling on depression and anxiety of patients with schizophrenia in their rehabilitation.Methods: Eighty patients with schizophrenia in rehabilitation stage were randomly divided into research group and control group. In research group, the patients received group counseling in addition to conventional medications. Before and after the counseling, their anxiety and depression were assessed by self-rating scale SAS and SDS. 3.Study on Quality Standard for Fushenning Tablets

Objective To establish the quality standard for Fushenning Tablets. Methods Radix et Rhizoma Rhei,Fructus Gardeniae,Rhizoma Anemarrhenae,Radix Stephaniae Tetrandrae were identified by TLC,and the content of berberine hydrochloride of Cortex Phellodendri Chinensis was determined by HPLC. Results TLC could identify Radix et Rhizoma Rhei,Fructus Gardeniae,Rhizoma Anemarrhenae,Radix Stephaniae Tetrandrae effectively. Berberine Hydrochloride showed a good linear relationship in the range of 0.021 42~ 0.110 20 ? g. The average recovery was 100.6 %(n=6) and RSD was1.4 % . Conclusion This method is simple,accurate,specific and reproducible,and can be used for quality control of Fushenning Tablets.
4.Quality standard for Yushangling Capsule

AIM: To establish the quality standard for Yushangling Capsule(Angelica Sinensis,Borneolum Syntheticum,Radix et Rhizoma Notoginseng,etc.). METHODS: Angelica Sinensis and Borneolum Syntheticum were identified by TLC,and the contents of effective components were determined by HPLC. RESULTS: Angelica sinensis,and Borneolum Syntheticum could be identified by TLC.The linear ranges of notoginsenoside R_1,ginsenoside Rg_1 and Rb_1 were 0.104 6-1.987 4 ?g,0.407 6-7.744 4 ?g,0.414 8-7.881 2 ?g,respectively,the average recoveries were 99.7%(RSD=0.6%),99.5%(RSD=0.5%),100.1%(RSD=0.7%),respectively CONCLUSION: The method is simple,accurate and high specificity with good repeatability and can be used for quality control of Yushangling Capsule.
5.The Application of Vltrasound-guided Percutaneous Umbilical Blood Sampling

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous umbilical blood sampling. Methods Eight hundred and seventy-two pregnancies with proper indications underwent ultrasound-guided percutaneous umbilical sampling. The data of each procedure were prospectively collected and subsequently analyzed for successful rate and pregnancy outcomes. Results Of 872 ultrasound-guided percutaneous umbilical sampling, 62.7% were done successfully at the first attempt, 36.0% were done successfully by two to four attempts. 31.4% fetuses had mild procedure-related complications and 0.3% fetuses had severe complications. Conclusion We should improve the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous umbilical sampling and make it a correct, safe and effective procedure for prenatal diagnosis.
6.Protective effects and mechanisms of LIF on cone photoreceptors from oxidant injury

Objective To investigate the role of leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) in cell survival of cone photoreceptors and the underlying mechanism following oxidant injury.Methods 661W cells were cultured and randomly divided into normal control group,LIF intervention group,H2O2 intervention group,S3 I201 intervention group,H2O2 + LIF intervention group,H2O2 + S3I201 intervention group and H2O2 + LIF + S3I201 intervention group,according to the different intervention drugs.MTT assay and Western blot were used to detect the effects of LIF pretreatment on 661W activity and the expression of STAT3 protein and its phosphorylation level after oxidative damage.Using STAT3-specific inhibitor S3I201 to block the STAT3 signal transduction pathway,MTT assay and real-time PCR were used to detect the effects of STAT3 signaling pathway on 661 W activity and the mRNA expression of survivin bcl-2 and bcl-xi after oxidative damage.Results Compared to H2O2 intervention group,the relative protein expression of p-Tyr705-STAT3 was increased in H2O2 + LIF intervention group,the difference was statistically significant (P < O.05);The relative protein expression of p-Tyr705-STAT3 was decreased in H2O2 + S3I201 intervention group,the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Compared to H2O2 intervention group,the cell activity of 661W cells was increased in H2O2 + LIF intervention group,the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Compared to H2O2 + LIF intervention group,the cell activity of 661W cells was decreased in H2O2 + LIF + S3I201 intervention group,the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Compared to normal control group,the mRNA expression of bcl-2 and bcl-xl were increased in LIF intervention group,H2O2 intervention group and H2O2 + LIF intervention group,the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05).Compared to H2O2 + LIF intervention group,the mRNA expression of bcl-2 and bcl-xl were decreased in H2O2 + LIF + S3I201 intervention group,the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05).Conclusion LIF has protective effect on oxidative injury of cone photoreceptors,and it may contribute to cell survival through activation of the STAT3 signaling transduction pathway and its related survivin.
7.A moderate dose of levobupivacaine in spinal anesthesia for caesarean section

Objective: To investigate a moderate dose of levobupivacaine in spinal anesthesia for caesarean section.Methods: Eighty parturients undergoing caesarean section were randomly divided into 4 groups: GroupⅠ(0.75% levobupivacaine 1.00ml+10% glucose 1.00ml+cerebrospinal fluid 1.00ml),GroupⅡ(0.75% levobupivacaine 1.33ml+10% glucose 1.00ml+ cerebrospinal fluid 0.67ml),Group Ⅲ(0.75% levobupivacaine 1.67ml+10% glucose 1.00ml+ cerebrospinal fluid 0.33ml) and Group Ⅳ(0.75% levobupivacaine 2.00ml+10% glucose 1.00ml).The spinal puncture sites were all located at L_2,3.The onset time of sensation block,the highest plane of analgesia,the time to reach the highest plane of analgesia,the time of regression to the L_1 segment,the degree of motor block,VAS scores,the degree of muscle relaxation,the rate of hypotension incidents and neonatal Apgar scores were recorded. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in the onset time of sensation block,the time to reach the highest plane of analgesia and the highest plane of analgesia among the 4 groups.But the durations of regression to the L_1 segment were dramatically shorter in GroupⅠand Ⅱthan in Group Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P
8.The clinical analysis of abnormal blood glucose level in term infants with asphyxia

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of monitoring blood glucose in term infants with asphyxia. Methods The blood glucouse within 24 hours of admission and prognosis were retrospectively analyzed in full-term neonates with asphyxia admitted from January, 2011 to December, 2012. Results Among 256 term infants with asphyxia, 95 cases (37.11%) had abnormal blood glucose, 63 cases (24.61%) were hypoglycemia and 32 (12.50%) were hyperglycemia. The incidence of mild asphyxia and severe asphyxia, the number of damaged organ were significantly different among infants with hypoglycemia, normal blood glucose, and hyperglycemia (all P<0.001). Among 256 term infants, 206 cases were mild asphyxia, 50 cases were serve asphyxia. The incidence of abnormal blood glucose and hyperglycemia were significantly higher in infants with serve asphyxia than those in infants with mild asphyxia (P<0.01). Among 256 term infants, 227 cases (88.67%) had organ damaged. 96 cases involved one organ, 72 cases involved two organs, and 59 cases involved three or more organs. The incidence of abnormal blood glucose, hypoglycemia, hyperglucemia were significantly different among infants invoved one, two or threr and more organs. The incidence of hyperglycemia was the highest in infants with three or more organ damaged, and the incidence of hypoglycemia was the highest in infants with two organ damaged. Conclusions The term infants with severe asphyxia and more organ damaged were prone to with abnormal blood glucose.
9.Study on air pressure changes in negative-pressure isolation capsule during casualty transport

Objective To prevent the medical personnel from infection during aeromedical evacuation of fulminating respiratory infectious disease patients by exploring the changes of differential pressure between those in and out of the negative-pressure isolation capsule and analyzing the stability of the capsule during aeromedical evacuation.Methods A differential pressure monitor developed by Institute of Medical Equipment was used for real-time recording of the changes the differential pressure in and out of the capsule during five flight phases of the aircraft,and the safety of the capsule during aeromedical evacuation and corresponding considerations were investigated.Results The maximum and minimum values of the negative pressure in the capsule were-60 Pa and-120 Pa respectively during aeromedical evacuation,which were all less than the safety threshold-15 Pa.The negative pressure was is directly proportional to the flying altitude.Conclusion The capsule keeps negative pressure effectively during flight,and thus facilitates patient aeromedial evacuation greatly.
10.Effect of Tangbikang on Level of Plasma β-EP of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Rats

Objective To observe the effect of Chinese herbal compound Tangbikang on the level of plasma β-EP of diabetic peripheral neuropathy rats, and to discuss its mechanism of neuroprotection and abirritation. Methods STZ and feeding high fat forage induced diabetic rats were randomly divided into diabetic model group, Mecobalamin group, Tangbikang high dose group, Tangbikang medium dose group, Tangbikang low dose group, with 10 normal rats as control. The control group and model group were daily gavaged with distilled water, Tangbikang groups were given Tangbikang with different dose. Mecobalamin was used as the control medicine. Body weight and FBG was detected every 4 weeks, rats’ unilateral sciatic nerve were taken out at the 16th week. Pathological variation of sciatic nerve was presented by HE staining, and radioimmunoassay method was used to detect the levels of plasma β-EP of diabetic peripheral neuropathy of rats. Results The weight and FBG had obviously changed in the 16th week. Compared with the model group, pathological injury of diabetic peripheral neuropathy rats in the Tangbikang groups were significantly improved. The level ofβ-EP of model group was significantly decreased (P<0.01) compared with normal group. Tangbikang medium and high dose group significantly increased the level of plasma β-EP (P<0.01). Conclusion Chinese herbal compound Tangbikang could reduce the fasting blood glucose, protect nervous system and promote the level of plasmaβ-EP of diabetic peripheral neuropathy rats.
