Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(2):245-247
The characteristics both of medical humanistic education and community activities are educating people in the practicality, comprehensiveness and integration etc,and they play a special role in improving the overall quality and capacity of university students. It is an important and effective form to strengthen the medical humanities education by making full use of a platform through medical humanistic education in the activities of university student society, which is a practical way to integrate medical humanistic education and professional skills training and can improve the overall quality and capacity of university students.
2.Evaluation on technical efficiency of high-tech medical equipment in county-level public hospitals in Guangxi based on DEA model
China Medical Equipment 2016;13(8):108-111
Objective:To evaluate the efficiency of high-tech medical equipment of county-level hospitals in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and to provide a scientific foundation for high-tech medical equipment configuration planning for county-level hospitals. Methods: DEA model was used to evaluate the relative efficiency of 40 county-level hospitals in Guangxi. Results: 4 among 40 hospitals (10.00%) could be categorized as effective hospitals, and pure technical efficiency is not high in 30 hospitals (75.00%). The returns to scale decreased in 20 hospitals (50.00%), and 16 hospitals (40.00%) increased. The average number of the overall efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of the 40 hospitals were 0.684, 0.753 and 0.908 respectively. Conclusion: Departments concerned should set reasonable evaluation index to ensure that the evaluation is scientific. Hospitals should strengthen the internal management of high-tech medical equipment to improve the utilization rate of the equipment. Departments concerned are supposed to curb or enlarge the number of the high-tech medical equipment to improve the scale efficiency of the equipment.

Objective To investigate the effect of gradient heat stress on phagocytosis of hepatic Kupffer cells (KCs) in vitro in rats. Methods Rat Kupffer cells were isolated in vitro and the temperature for gradient heat stress was set at 37, 39, 41 and 43℃. After thermal stimulation, cell injury was detected by PI and Hochest33342 staining. CCK-8 assay was used to investigate difference in cellular proliferation rate over 24h between the groups. Flow cytometry was used to investigate the influence of heat stress on the phagocytosis of KCs. Results Compared to the normal control group, cells in each heat stress group exhibited varying degrees of damage, especially cells in 43℃ group. The ratio of damage cells increased with the increase of heat stress severity (P<0.05). Proliferation assay indicated that the proliferation rate of cells in each heat stress group was significantly decreased in comparison with normal control group 6h after heat stress (P<0.05). After 12h recovery, decrease in proliferation rate was observed only in 43℃ group (P<0.001), and no difference in the rate of proliferation could be observed between the heat stress groups and normal control group after 24h recovery. Flow cytometry showed, that the phagocytosis of KCs decreased in heat stress groups compared with control group, especially in 43℃ group (P<0.05). This phenomenon disappeared after 24h recovery. Conclusion Heat stress can inhibit the phagocytosis of rat liver KCs through its cytotoxic effect on KCs, and subsequently inhibits its proliferative ability. Further investigation of the effect of heat stress on KCs may help understand the pathogenesis of heat stress.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of extended-field intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in the treatment of patients with early-stage NK/T cell lymphoma (NKTCL),and to examine the clinical characteristics and the effect of treatment factors on the prognosis of these patients. Methods The clinical data of 165 patients with early-stage NKTCL who underwent extended-field IMRT with (n=158,95.8%) or without chemotherapy (n=7,4.2%) were reviewed.Of these 165 patients,140(84.8%) received a radiation dose of ≥50 Gy to the primary lesion, and 25 patients (15.2%) received a radiation dose of<50 Gy.Most patients (n=147,89.1%) were treated with L-asparaginase-based chemotherapy regimens, whereas only 11 patients (6.7%) were treated with doxorubicin-based CHOP/CHOP-like regimens. In addition,109 patients (66.1%) received ≥4 cycles of chemotherapy.Locoregional control (LRC),overall survival (OS),and progression-free survival (PFS) rates were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method, and the log-rank test was used for survival comparison and univariate prognostic analysis.A multivariate prognostic analysis was performed using the Cox model. Results The 5-year sample size 55.The 5-year OS,PFS,and LRC rates of all patients were 74.2%,72.5%,84.4%,respectively.The patients who received a dose of ≥50 Gy had a significantly higher 5-year LRC rate than those with<50 Gy (91.8% vs.39.7%,P=0.000).The 5-year OS was significantly higher in the low-risk early-stage group than in the high-risk early-stage group (P=0.002).For the high-risk early-stage NKTCL group, patients who received ≥4 cycles of chemotherapy had significantly higher 5-year OS and PFS than those who received<4 cycles of chemotherapy (5-year OS:71.3% vs.59.5%,P=0.032;5-year PFS:70.4% vs.54.4%,P=0.009).In addition, multivariate analysis showed that ECOG≥2,primary tumor invasion (PTI),and Ann Arbor stage Ⅱ were associated with poor OS (P=0.006,0.002,0.014),and ECOG≥2 and PTI were associated with reduced LRC (P=0.004,0.016).Furthermore,ECOG≥2,PTI,Ann Arbor stage Ⅱ,and extranasal primary site were associated with lower PFS (P=0.045,0.003,0.030,0.032).Conclusions Extended-field IMRT at a dose of ≥50 Gy can lead to favorable LRC,OS,and PFS in patients with early-stage NKTCL.However,it is less effective against distant early-stage NKTCL in patients with poor prognosis.Nevertheless,≥4 cycles of chemotherapy can significantly improve the OS and PFS of patients with early-stage NKTCL.
